  1. Glad they've quashed the rumour. There would have been such a (tedious) backlash at E3 when they failed to announce any new hardware after the hype this rumour had started.
  2. Point to point races are the best IMO, it's basically 3 tracks in 1. Plus the start and finish of Mount Wario look fantastic.
  3. Rainbow Road looked a little disappointing/boring in the Direct IMO, is it any good?
  4. Different strokes. I found the Smash Bros Direct painful with so much filler, it could have been half the length. Smash Bros Brawl in HD with a new mode.
  5. So you and a mate have to play battle mode with 10 CPU characters. What utter rubbish.
  6. I really don't think we needed a second thread for this game, just confuses things. Anywho here's my post from the other one... That battle mode looks terrible IMO. Two player battle mode, neither person will want to be in the lead and instead just hang back around the item blocks. I'm dreading it will be like MKWii and only make 2 player battle mode possible with 6 CPU characters. What an f-ing joke if that's the case. Just let me play against 1-3 mates in an arena environment. Simple.

  8. I understand that, but at the end of the day you're depriving yourself of a free game, a quality Mario Kart title and a great console, all because you can't talk during races. Just seems silly from my point of view. I don't get it but as you say we all prioritise different things, it has nothing to do with some people's standards being higher, as you suggested earlier. Personally I can imagine voice chat during races to just be a chaotic mess, filled with "Who hit me!!?!?" and lots of swearing. Meh.
  9. What's the sucker punch that's stopping you picking up a Wii U, MK8 and a free game, that Kart doesn't have voice chat during races?
  10. Fair enough you make a good point
  11. Not necessarily, I just think let's give them a bit of credit for introducing a few new characters.
  12. Or would they be saying, those same characters agaaain? "Why not try something new and different Nintendo?" etc Personally I would have groaned at Diddy and Bowser Jr. The Koopa Kids are a great addition IMO.
  13. People would complain about the ones they cut. Fans are never happy
  14. There's a huge number of characters already, far more than any other installment
  15. Though New Leaf is the only AC game I've played (and fallen in love with), I can easily imagine it being a series more suited to handhelds. Be amazing if they released DLC to New Leaf with tons of new content, or better yet a second AC game on the 3DS *carries on dreaming*
  16. Or because interest in Nintendo is dwindling with each passing console I really don't think the likes of F-Zero or Metroid will do anything to help sales. The market just isn't there anymore now that the vast majority of gamers only care about graphical horsepower, first person shooters and cinematic "games".
  17. It was typical Nintendo lameness, but fun. Obviously not meant to be taken seriously
  18. It was obvious the speaker box item would just be something boring like spinning out everyone in the blast radius, so the fact that it can defend against weapons is a very welcome bonus. Still would rather have the feather make a return though. Also can't believe they showed the new Rainbow Road! I don't think they've ever spoiled that before. I'm also not the biggest fan of the free-roaming replay camera they use for all their trailers. I think visually the game looks far more impressive from the regular behind-the-kart perspective.
  19. The problem is, don't Zelda games sell terribly these days? Unless it gets incredible hype I'm not so sure it's a system seller. It's pretty depressing for instance that Twilight Princess only sold 5.5 million, and even worse Skyward Sword only 3 million. Spirit Tracks did 2.5 compared to New Super Mario and Nintendogs that sold 25-30mil. Such a big name like Zelda is actually quite niche, though not as much as say Metroid admitedly. If Nintendo want to shift consoles they need to find their next Wii Sports/Wii Fit/Nintendogs.
  20. How hard is it to implement SNES/N64 style simple battle mode tracks, as soon as they started going for OTT complicated arenas the size of small towns it got stupid, though the warp pipe battle mode track in Double Dash was pretty good. Glad to hear the tracks are re-engineered but it still seems a bit lazy.
  21. Wii Party U for me, a bit of a meh choice but I already have NintendoLand, Mario, Zelda, Pikmin and W101. Maybe Sonic I guess. As for MK8, the battle mode courses just being regular tracks is really really disappointing. I can understand lots of bitching about that, it sounds terrible. Especially if the item blocks are in the same grouped locations. You'll just have players setting up camp over an item block and waiting. I was really looking forward to some retro SNES battle tracks
  22. Hang on a second... there won't be dedicated battle mode courses? WTF!?! That can't be right surely.
