  1. I just figured I'd get slaughtered easily if I played against humans. Seriously, my only experience with shooters in the last decade is Mass Effect and Splatoon. I'm not particularly good at them and figured single player was the way to go, glad to hear it's meatier than you expected.
  2. Shame, game looks so gorgeous. I thought the main mode of the game could be played against AI
  3. Is this decent enough as a single player game? Not interested in multiplayer, I've so little experience with shooters it wouldn't be worth my time anyway, I'd be embarrassing.
  4. Another amiibro! Welcome...
  5. I imagine the big announcement was this + in particular the Nintendo themed pack but the latter isn't ready to be revealed or something so they pushed the whole thing back.
  6. I happily put ten quid on my eshop for this, loving the game and feel that's how much it's worth. I just really hope the stamps are transferable to their new handheld. (Unlikely I know)
  7. Today's a really good day to give the Training game a go. I managed 21 badges, added to the 9 I already had saved up + a special badge all combined to give me 5 free plays
  8. That was a shocker of a presentation, absolutely nothing there of any interest to me personally. Oh well.
  9. It's sad that with all this porting to other platforms, amiibo integration, DLC characters, they most likely haven't even started on a sequel.
  10. Splatoon also won Best Shooter Even more deserved than best multiplayer.
  11. Woohoo!! Splatoon just won Best Multiplayer game at the VGAs! I'm surprised but I shouldn't be really, fully deserved for a fantastic, fresh game
  12. No, he's suggesting people aren't buying a Wii U because they already a bought a Wii.
  13. I'm not up in arms against Federation Force as the majority are but that and Zelda U are literally on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of hype. The gaf thread about the 10 world premieres on show tonight is filled with people saying "Zelda please".
  14. Well produced, non predatory games like Monument Valley, Tiny Wings and The Room et al are great for the industry. The 99% rubbish on the iOS store and big games like Candy Crush are not. I also wonder how damaging the 79p price model for the first two of the above games is to the industry as a whole, especially when you have people bitching and 1 star reviewing Monument Valley for having the nerve to charge 79p for an IAP that doubles the game.
  15. I don't think four years is that short, as @killthenet says, the standard is five years. We've had more than enough great games to make the console a worthwhile purchase.
  16. The Mario Kart ones are definitely tougher to get
  17. Amazing, as if Nintendo aren't being generous enough with this F2P game!
  18. All of you who own PS4s/XBOs, if the Wii U had decent third party support, COD, Battlefront, Tomb Raider, Destiny, Batman etc and better social features, would it be enough to keep you from buying a PS4/XBO? I get the impression it wouldn't and the vast majority of people would still want a PS4 for the exclusives/indies/wider range of third parties. If that's the case then trying to compete with other two machines would be a huge (expensive) risk. I still think in the modern age of gaming, they're better suited to positioning themselves as a cheaper second console.
  19. This should be available at the launch of their next handheld, give us 5 or 6 years of badges, not just the last few months of the thing's lifespan.
  20. If it does have Wii remote support, I doubt they'll bother implementing MotionPlus in a game that isn't built for it. Meh, I'd be happy to use a pro controller.
  21. I know but he doesn't even give the games a chance. He goes on about how the Wii U is a disaster of a console on Kinda Funny (in terms of hardware, not sales), then Tim always replies how much he loves his consoles because of the GAMES, something Colin always says it's what's most important. Yet he never seems to apply that POV to Nintendo, short of saying how much their games are great. Meh. I think he's one of, if not the most interesting people to listen to in the gaming industry, but some of his Nintendo criticism is very unfair.
  22. I like Colin and Greg a lot, but Colin's views on Nintendo are ridiculously harsh these days. He has such a closed mind about them. Compare to the likes of Jose, Altano and Peer from IGN and it's night and day. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
  23. I'm pleased you're enjoying it but it's got a 42 on Metacritic, which is surely the lowest rated first party Nintendo title in the last couple of decades, so quality wise isn't exactly a hit (on average). I'm not a graphics whore but the visuals legitimately look Gamecube-like. An abundance of platformers is one thing, it's a popular genre, but the Wii U really didn't need another board game, and not one that's, reportedly, quite boring to most people.
  24. Great news. I'm the last person to wish poor sales on Nintendo but this game is inexcusable.
