  1. The lack of much day 1 DLC, blind Season passes, special editions with in-game perks is also refreshing with Nintendo games. Having said that I think those are just ways of upping the cost of games that's long overdue, without actually upping the cost of games.
  2. I wonder what the Kingdom Creator does. The "Tour" button at the bottom seems to suggest being able to run around what you build? Maybe wishful thinking.
  3. EA are putting one of their bigger games on Switch Probably a sports game, but could it be Mass Effect Andromeda I wonder. Or maybe an older one like Battlefield 1
  4. Laughable? Why? There are some very deep mobile games. How much would you say it's worth? Based on a couple of quick trailers that is.
  5. I genuinely expected this to be 99p. I mean, it's obviously worth a lot more, and I'm happy to pay €10 but I think it would make Nintendo a lot more money at a cheap as chips impulse buy price. It's the same with there being no IAP, it's obviously admirable of Nintendo not to include any and I'm happy with that myself, but if their goal is to make money, that's another missed opportunity.
  6. I think you're reading too much into things. And regardless, there are more than 100 Shrines of varying sizes and complexities, in addition to the regular dungeons and side quests. She's talking about the size of the game, not the size of the land mass. It's obvious because she says "it's a huge game, and localisation of all the NPCs and quests is taking a long time", not "it's a huge land mass".
  7. The full quote: We've known how huge the game world is for months, why would she feel the need to tell us about the land mass again? She's obviously talking about the entire game itself, content and everything. I don't see how you can think it "unlikely" that she's referring to content. She said "largest game", not "largest area".
  8. I don't see how you can make that assumption, and I'm not even sure I understand what assumption you're making. From the report Emily Rogers claims the game is bigger than their last three console games combined. It's tough to read much more into that. The game is done, the localisation is taking longer and fill apparently wrap up by the end of December, then testing and QA can begin.
  9. The game is finished, it's just localisation that's taking longer than expected (according to ER) for such a big game. It's pointless getting pissed off at Nintendo because it's always been "2017", it was never promised for March.
  10. That's your call if you bought a console without there being any reveal of a Zelda game for it at the time. As for it ending production, I don't see what difference that makes, you have yours and will get to play a Zelda game on it. Yes it's taking a long time but the scale and scope of the game means a longer development time and I'm sure they're working as fast as they can on it. What's the alternative? Rushing it and releasing a half-arsed or bug filled game like some other AAA games releases these days, just to meet a deadline? No thanks. That's a very different subject though, but I agree with you there.
  11. Wii U owners will still get their HD Zelda game though, and I suspect it'll be worth the wait. They've also gotten a couple of HD remasters in the meantime.
  12. I didn't see anything else in your post worth focusing on. At least we've agreed that great games take time. Just not the 10 years you've quoted but more like 5 in Breath of the Wild's case. Again, I see this news as a good thing. The game sounds amazing, Nintendo never said it would release in March, and another 3-6 months is nothing really.
  13. Great games take time. Absolutely, but I'm confident Nintendo will fill their world with quality. When I read "bigger than Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword and Wind Waker combined" I didn't read in terms of land mass, I figured in terms of content, which is hugely exciting
  14. This from a couple of weeks ago... She's said she'll do a similar update to her Zelda one about Mario, Kart and Pokemon in the next day or two.
  15. They can take as long as they want with it, this comment of hers has me really really excited...
  16. Surprised there doesn't seem to be much buzz about this on here given it's out tomorrow. I'm really excited, loved the first one and from reviews so far it seems this one is better. The main point of contention is the online is broken atm (can't say I'm surprised) and there are some frame rate issues on PS4, the latter of which I'm really disappointed by, especially given how long the console has been out. I hope it's not a things to come with devs optimising their games for the PS4 Pro and putting out sub standard versions on the regular one. Still, really excited. The protagonist seems far more likeable.
  17. That would be a fantastic price point and it should fly off the shelves if that's the case. Hopefully she's right or else there'll be a lot of disappointed people on Jan 12th.
  18. £220 would be a great price, but I suspect if it's $250 it'll be £250 here.
  19. In hindsight, what a weird name for a console: Mega Drive. I know that was only for Europe, but still.
  20. Because he's condescendingly telling people not to misrepresent, "the problem with people on this forum", hours after doing just that. Simple. No big deal. I will take his advice as well.
  21. I have nothing to admit fault about? Unless my sales figures and suggestion that the NES and SNES were two of Nintendo's most popular consoles is incorrect. And fair enough rummy admitted a mistake, I just found it a bit rich he was complaining about others missing the point and mis-reading posts mere hours after he did the same.
  22. Weren't you literally just belittling someone'a opinion before you realised you hadn't read their post properly?
  23. The Commodore 64 sold between 12 and 17 million units. The Spectrum sold 5 million units. The NES sold 62 million. Yes a lot of people had a Commodore 64 but most then moved onto the NES and that's when video games really took off as a global mainstream thing. To say Nintendo weren't popular during the 8 and 16 bit generations is a little silly considering, Wii apart, those were their two best selling home consoles.
