Na, not considerably. In run-up to major games, I'll usually have to be home in the day from the 11th to 15th and on the occassional Saturday night (where I'll still be able to go out, but need to be home by 11, sometimes not even then...I once updated the site drunk at 2am after news came while I was out). When games come out, I usually shut myself off from the outside world for a few days. Over a week with major releases, though with the last one, my friends came over a couple of times to cheer me up since I was down due to the cease and desist. They brought cake. I'll do it for however long I can. It's still #1 and it is still GAINING popularity. I've had companies want to buy me out, but I shall never do it. It's my hobby, and it's opening up the career road for me. My self-employed freelance stuff all stems from the site by writing magazine articles etc. and I have contacts in a few places so could always use the site as a jump-off point I know, it's just annoying that all my friends have pretty much paired off (my one friend who lives elsewhere who was in a really similar position managed to turn it round quickly since his friends suddenly decided to go out more...makes me resent him a bit) and I haven't had any action whatsoever in over four and a half years. You can see why I'm a bit depressed.

Thanks, that's very kind of you Still, I need to augment my social circle in order to get to my ideal happiness, and the site and job interfere with it, but I can eventually work around it...it'll just take time.

I never said excessive (though I am a depressed person), but it does lower my analytical side

Other than occassional editors, I have no business contacts and I'm never away on business, except maybe to E3 next year in which case English accent + USA = win

I'm really not looking for excuses, it's fact :/ Believe me, I wish it weren't. My freelance stuff is all organised online, as is my site and that means I don't meet people, hence the reliance on friends to do stuff so I can go out.

Charlie does make a good point, and that's why I prefer meeting on nights out or at parties, as I am slightly inebriated and that means I actually talk more. I'm a very quiet person, very quiet, and always hate being the focus of attention. In group meetups, I always struggle to engage unless I am engaged previously. It's something that comes from me originally being a hermit. I just need to get an in somewhere...anywhere. As I'm self-employed, I have to rely on friends rather than extra networking through work and I finished University so can't get it there either. This is why I'm so annoyed at my friends rarely wanting to do anything and why I'm so depressed. I keep trying to look for a part-time job to help, but then site stuff comes (such as a game to cover like the one next week) or I get more freelance work, plus I don't think they'd be flexible in game-release times for me.

Still having no luck on my end. My friends are getting a bit worse and a couple said they're "over" nights out so they only happen on birthdays...got a few parties coming up I believe so I may meet people there, but it's hard to say for sure. However, I may need to resort to the online dating as you guys have suggested...not my first choice but still. That said, going to explore every avenue while I can. Never say die.

Following on from posts in the bad stuff thread; My nan has been moved to a specialised Stroke Recovery Unit at Christchurch Hospital a week ahead of schedule. Although she has some gaps in her memory such as having the last few years missing in her memory of a few of my cousins, she is back to herself personality wise. Still likely to be there for over a month but she's making progress

I don't believe there's anyone perfect for anyone. It's all in people's heads. We're indoctrinated at childhood to believe we are all to fall in love, to find someone to spend our lives with, but it's not natural at all. It's all a myth.

Fandom too. I was apparently a part of "WotterGate" in September when the starter evolutions for Black & White were leaked. Everyone was saying they were fake, making up ridiculous reasonings for it. I said they were real, because they were real and I got such abuse from it, and very few apologies when I was proven right. The entire fandom calls it WotterGate Another word I've noticed lately is "hench". What the fuck is that?
