ALL THE WANT. That looks amazing

Hands-on impressions all around the net

Pic of the day. Pikachu's Thunder now starts off with a thundercloud that deals a Meteor Smash! From left to right, you can see this combo starting with Pikachu throwing the opponent upward, Meteor Smashing with the lightning strike, and then directly attacking. Foes can dodge, of course, so the attack won't hit consistently, but when it does, it sure feels good!

What Would You Change About Nintendo/With Nintendo?
Serebii replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Because it's pointless and ridiculous. If you argue this, then you should damn well argue that Sony and Microsoft do the same. They're in a worse position than Nintendo, afterall. I do, but Nintendo are sticklers for wanting to provide the original experience for the Virtual Console. I read that they even toned down Lylat Wars on the Wii VC because it was running better than the Nintendo 64 original. As such, they'd be making it so it'd run on each individual console, not run middleware that has varying results on each platform. -

But then, why would people get a Wii U etc for Nintendo's current stuff when they can just wait five years for it to be on their console of choice? Plus, they'd also have to recode and finetune emulators for every platform which isn't an easy thing to do. It wouldn't be as cost effective as you believe. -

And throwing them on Amazon's platform and various others wouldn't? Also, the logic of putting them on the Vita astounds me. Almost makes me think @Daft was trolling. -

Or, they could ramp up output of the Virtual Console and use it as a selling point of their console. -
A friend of mine has got review copies of the GBA games and wrote some stuff about the new Virtual Console features on it for them Screen Smoothing, Original Resolution & GamePad manuals http://www.nintendo-insider.com/2014/04/02/smoothing-resolution-manuals-guide-gba-virtual-console/ I'm impressed.

I think the cost of entry for such a device would be too high to be successful. If it's to stream to the TV, it'd have to be high spec in order to "compete". I prefer the way they're going about it for their next devices. Two devices. Similar architecture. Same OS. As such, development can share assets between handheld & console easily, allowing for new games, engine ports etc. It'd also allow for porting and higher connectivity. That way, they won't be developing for one console, or another, they'd be developing for their platform, focused on one device, but can use whatever they do on the other. Or have it like Smash Bros. -
Japan's getting Super Punch-Out next week. Maybe we'll get that soon

EA have been saying that for a while

Pic of the day. The Gust Bellows can blow opponents away with its powerful wind blasts. When someone drops it, though, the gusts run wild! Out of the new items, more than a few will be from The Legend of Zelda series. We'll take the most interesting and straightforward ones and reformulate them to match the Smash Bros. world.

Today, I can do that :P It's even more impressive seeing as there's now 721 Pokémon, not 251 People also throw numbers at me and I can give them the Pokémon.

Delayed to April 17th apparently

For those, sending out adverts 2 months ahead of time very rarely happens
-
Press release sent out to anywhere that covers games in any sense. I saw reports on a couple of relatively mainstream sites.
-
Not at all. Two months before it is a bit ridiculously early to start advertising it. Advertising for games typically doesn't begin until around four weeks before the launch of a game, usually less. infamous and Titanfall were exceptions because both Sony and Microsoft had nothing between launch and those games. Though, to be fair, Nintendo have had nothing since Donkey Kong Country. If it hits early May and we still have seen nothing, then we'd have a point.

My nephew has them in his shoes. So jealous.

License out some of their lesser selling IPs to third party developers more. Metroid, Starfox, F-Zero etc. are all great series, but sell like crap meaning Nintendo is less inclined to focus their own efforts on them. Nintendo have a wide range of series covering almost all possible genres, and they should capitalise on this even moreso now that third parties have abandoned. -
That's the point I've been making. It will either remain exactly the same, or the entire board will be wiped out and the company fall into chaos.

Nintendo under the leadership of someone who will change it away from their current trends and ideologies would make Nintendo not what it is today. We'd lose everything cool about them. Also, using the QoL as evidence of Nintendo not focusing on the gamer is like using Columbia Pictures as evidence of Sony not focusing on the gamer. The QoL platform is separate to Nintendo's gaming endeavours. Also, Nintendo are sorting that. The next consoles will run the Nintendo Network ID and will have cross-device capabilities due to having similar architecture and the same OS. The problem is that it's not retroactively enforceable.
