Why can't 2D platformers be "big games"? They require effort and they're lovingly crafted. Why put down an entire genre? New Super Mario Bros. Wii was one of the best selling games, and one of the most fun ones, of last generation so by the logic you have put here, it's a fantastic game since it sold.

Technically, Project Zero is first party. If I'm not mistaken, Nintendo owns part of the franchise now

Sometimes with this thread, I feel this keeps happening :p Yep. Those are sales that most developers would kill for, and to do it on an install base which is so low is nothing short of phenomenal. 3DS, DS and Wii had great sales of Nintendo titles too

Vote: Which was your favorite Nintendo console/handheld?
Serebii replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
SNES didn't have that many classics from Nintendo. It had bigger first party droughts than the Wii U :p -
Do note that even if they make a "Zelda" or a "Mario" game, it's chock full of new mechanics and new ideas. Just because it exists in an existing series does not mean there's not new concepts in it. It's also a bit ridiculous to say Nintendo should just make Mario 64 level revolutions. They do try, anyway. Look at Wii Sports, that was one, and they attempted (but unfortunately failed) with the Wii U.

I'm going to say it. Wii U hands down. Last gen, I was going through gaming burnout. Wii games were few and far between, Xbox 360/PS3 titles were good, but never put a smile on my face. Everything started feeling standardised. Things were good games, but not exciting for me to play. Too much focus on cinematics and story and not enough on actual gameplay. Then, the Wii U came out. Its launch was a bit rocky, but it has become my favourite console of all time. The games Nintendo have put out have been phenomenal. Sure, other consoles had games that were revolutionary, but the games on the Wii U that Nintendo have provided just continue to put a smile on my face. It's part of why I have yet to get a PS4, the games there just feel too much like how I felt with 360/PS3, just with better graphics. So, Wii U and 3DS are the ultimate gaming combo for me. Nintendo is at its creative and gaming peak so far, and it perplexes me that people keep shunning and trashing them. -
As are the differences between the Mario Karts

Friends decided to not have a Halloween party so my options are 1) A part of an acquaintance. My social anxiety doesn't like it. 2) Going to visit a friend who lives near Southampton and a group of us watch horror movies. Wouldn't be back until gone 1. As I didn't get much sleep the past couple days, this isn't a good option So I'm just watching Bob Ross paint trees on Twitch before going to bed.

My only issue with it is that it's so unbelievably gorgeous, but you spend your time looking at the GamePad and its downscaled visuals rather than at the TV
-
Yeah, Nintendo's output on the N64 wasn't the best in terms of quantity, and was mostly propped up by Rare's output. They were revolutionary for the most part, granted, but few and far between. If you think the Wii U droughts were bad, think back to those times.

No, Sheikah, you're complaining about "rehashes" when these games have very few iterations. It's bizarre and the implication that Nintendo doesn't try new things is also erroneous And I am still correct in the fact that lack of sales is not necessarily an indicator in lack of quality. Comparing it is just a specious argument. Quality != sales and that's that. You're putting Nintendo on a different position to everyone else and expecting them to live up to ridiculous ideals.
-
People not buying things is in no way indicative of quality. It's indicative of them not hitting the mark marketing wise, sure, but not indicative of quality And yeah, the 4th Smash in 16 years and 8th Mario Kart in 23 years is totally too much. Meanwhile, let's go play the 17th Assassin's Creed in 8 years. Also, saying they aren't good because less than 50% have bought these must have games? Since when did any game on any console have that sort of attach rate? Isn't Mario Kart 8 like the first in god knows how long to have that level of attach rate? We get it, you don't like Nintendo which is why you only appear in threads to criticise them.

Very subjective. You can't say that as outright fact, especially when critics rave about the games, as do craploads of fans. That's a bit of a jump, do you not think?

It's certainly a transitional year. Though Tri Force Heroes is a blast. No issues of quality there IMO

Falco is up http://store.nintendo.co.uk/amiibo/falco-no.52-amiibo/11164986.html

So, over 800,000 amiibo cards have been sold. Over 400,000 Yarn Yoshi have been sold Over 21 million amiibo figures have been sold. Not bad, not bad.

Playstation Network PSN ID PS+ etc. Just saying that you can have these things with different names all part of one system. They are all one thing, but different elements of it.

Nintendo & DeNA Business Agreement - Nintendo on Smartphones
Serebii replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I remember a year or so ago, Iwata mentioned a mobile app featuring Miis. Yeah, this is that. There will still be mobile games by Nintendo that are more gamey, but let's not forget that Nintendo did say that they're not just going to shift experiences over. -

That's the entire goal Nintendo set out for with their apps -
Cute, you think Xbox Live was like this in 2005 :p
-
That's the dumbest shit I have seen in quite a while. If anyone uses that reasoning unironically, they need a slap upside the head :p
