  1. I actually prefer the PSP2 to the 3DS, however I will probably still get a 3DS over the PSP2 because I already have a PS3 and want to play some Nintendo games for a change. To be fair though, I'm not really hyped about either.
  2. I know that PSP2 is a lot more powerful than the 3DS, but it's not as if the 3DS graphics are that bad you can't play (like most 3rd party Wii games).
  3. I've done a bit of research and here are the results: Laptop with specs that match mine (minus the CPU) Intel® Core™ i5-480M Processor clock speed : 2.66 / 2.93 Turbo GHz Front Side Bus : 1,066 MHz 3rd level cache : 3 MB My CPU type : Intel® Core™ i3-330M Processor clock speed : 2.13 GHz Front Side Bus : 1,066 MHz 3rd level cache : 3 MB I looked at the Bios updates on my laptop and the i5 laptop and both use the same exact bios update! So does this pretty much confirm I can upgrade to an i5 (unless the chip is soldered)? The reason I want to upgrade the cpu, is so that I can get more FPS out of Starcraft 2 which is a CPU limited game.
  4. Can I play gangstu style?
  5. Zelda: ALTTP Getting the master sword. Zelda: OOT Seeing Ganon's castle for the first time and the deserted Hyrule market place. Chronno Trigger Seeing the future and the last remnants of human life. Very powerful.
  6. That sounds awesome, more games should be cross platform. Which Sony talked about last generation.
  7. I've had a load of games tonight and yesterday and I didn't notice any cheating going on. Regarding MW2 being hacked; apparently this kind of shit has being going on for ages (minus the credit card hacking) and that article Matt posted is being used as a scapegoat. I only play MW2 casually, so I don't really notice anything serious or out-of-the-ordinary. Cheating has been going on for ages via hacked save files.
  8. I've added you Dyson and for anyone else that wants to add me, mine is: [email protected] How good are you Dyson? I'm not very good, I still need to learn to macro, micro and learn the Hotkeys.
  9. I've tried to find out as much as possible about upgrading my laptop's processor, but I'm still confused about certain things. I understand that certain laptop CPU's can't be upgraded because they are soldered to the motherboard. I'm pretty sure mine isn't soldered because the laptop I have, has different CPU's. If you look here: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/series/Satellite-Pro-L670-14L/1084892/AddID/1086890/ My laptop is the Satellite-Pro-L670-14L and it shows the different configurations within that part number. I've used CPU-Z and this is what it reports: Processor Name: intel Core i3 330M Package: Socket 1156 LGA Motherboard Manufacturer: Toshiba Model: NALAA Chipset: Intel, Havendale/Clarkdale Host Bridge, Rev. 02 Southbridge: Intel, HM55 So can anyone help me in finding out what and if I can upgrade my CPU to? - Thanks.
  10. You're now part of the master race, congratulations!
  11. Sounds good. You can add me if you want. EDIT: Actually how do I add people to my friends list?!?
  12. Does anyone here play Starcraft 2 regularly?
  13. What's so important about knowing how good you are compared to your friends. I try to get Trophies for personal gratification, not to impress my friends.
  14. How exactly do the publishers know that piracy was the direct cause of poor sales? It’s not like publishers have some kind of super human ability, where they can read the thought patterns of pirates and buyers that make their pronouncements on this, hypothetical situation, more definitive. A sensible publisher would be trying to reason out what happened from ALL the available evidence not the immediate. You’ve got to understand that when people do pirate things, it’s very unlikely they pirate everything. For example; you might buy a new copy of Dead Space 2, buy a used copy of Modern Warfare 2 and rent a copy of Harry Potter. People will buy what they have an interest in, and have some other avenue to experiencing the periphery. The people who pirate everything shouldn't be considered because it's very likely they never intended to buy Game Z anyway. I’ve addressed your piracy arguments several times in this post already. Regarding your ‘online matches being compromised’ remark; that was already possible before the PS3 got hacked, by either using Save game hacks: VIDEO EVIDENCE Or by glitching the game. Some people pirate, get over it! I can't really argue against your sensationalist view. I would rather save my money, time and space, by having an all-in-one device under my TV, not to mention cut down on the electricity bill by only having to run one device instead of two. Here are my hypothetical arguments: (Definitely more realistic than what you wrote) Scenario #1 Hypothetical User 1 (HU1) is busy playing his favourite game until the game unexpectedly crashes. HU1 is forced to restart his console, but unfortunately the game will not load. He tries loading his other games but they don’t work either. He then realises that the disc drive laser is probably broken and he will need to buy a new one because he is no longer in warranty. HU1 realises that he won’t be able to play his game for at least a month because he has no money until then. Scenario #2 Hypothetical User 2 (HU2) is in the exact same situation as HU1, except HU2 is using custom firmware and can play games from his hard drive. So HU2 is able to save up for a new disc drive and at the same time, still enjoy playing his games. PS: Don’t talk to me like I’m an idiot.
  15. I changed my post because I knew I would have to trundle through Google to find the information that would backup my point. And as I said before, It's already been proven that Linux runs on PS3 slim and has nothing to do with cheaper hardware. I'm sure the PS3 will no longer be the console with the best game sales, because it has now been hacked... Oh wait it never was. Please explain these ramifications and also please tell me why I shouldn't have the right to install CFW on my own hardware (as long as I don't use it to ruin other peoples experiences)?
  16. Lets see: Positive outcomes of using CFW Region free Gaming (Incl. PS1, PS2 and PS3 (Some PS3 titles have region locking) More video codec support Region free Movie playback on DVD and Blu-Ray The abbility to rip high-res backgrounds from games. XBMC (Hopefully it will come sooner rather than later) Better web browser In-game soundtrack enabled for all games Plus a lot more as time goes by Negative outcomes of using CFW (depending on the person) Can be used to cheat online games Piracy
  17. I remember people releasing bricking apps for the PSP. Probably the same kind of people that like to make virus's. That is not correct, Linux was already removed from the PS3 slim before Geohot did that exploit. That's the reason he started in the first place, so people could run linux. In all fairness though, that's probably just an excuse for Geohot, he would have probably hacked it anyway. The PS3 slim is perfectly capable of running Linux by the way, and has nothing to do with hardware modifications.
  18. Some people will probably do this anyway.
  19. So why is everyone up in arms about this, defending Sony's honor? I don't remember people being this zealous over a hacked console before, what's so special about Sony? Even without the ability to run bootleg software/games, PS3 still wasn't as popular in software sales as XBOX 360 or Wii and both of those are very easy to run pirated games on. Piracy did destroy PSP though. Then again, DS has it's fair share of piracy, but that still has healthy game sales. The worst thing to come out of this, is the online cheaters. I think if Sony doesn't do a good enough job of banning cheaters, a lot of people are going to switch to Xbox Live. IMO!!!
  20. Would this have happened if Sony didn't remove OtherOS? By the way, just because someone decides to install a modified firmware, doesn't instantly make them a pirate as most of the people on here are suggesting. An open console has it's good points and it's bad points. Just thought I'd put that out there.
  21. That's probably why I don't care. I'm shit anyway lol :p I can feel just as relaxed with pointer type controls. Maybe you've just never had a good experience with pointer controls.
  22. You and people in general have been using standard controllers since you were wee lads, of course you're going to find pointer+motion controls more difficult compared to standard controllers. Personal story and anecdotal evidence incoming... I got my PS3 in January 2008 but before that, I had been playing my Wii for about a year, so I had become accustomed to the Wii Remote + Nunchuck combo. For awhile after getting my PS3, to me the Sixaxis controller felt weird and I just wanted to use pointer controls in any game where it would be suitable. Eventually I got used to the standard controller. And the point of that story was that; if you use the Move controller more often, eventually it will become second nature and all the problems you told me about, will become less or maybe even completely eradicate your worries.
  23. Elaborate... I thought the pointer controls were pretty good in Metroid Prime 3.
