Gamespot US fires Jeff Gerstmann over Kane & Lynch review
gaggle64 replied to martinist's topic in Other Consoles
I agree with Bluestar up there, it seems we're staring down the business end of one of the greatest PR cock-ups since Antoinette told everyone to try Mr Kipling iced shortbread instead. -
Sometimes, I read something like Maus or Benjamin Zephaniah's poetry, and I cry because I know that I'll never be able to produce something of my own quite so beautiful or moving. Then I watch Hollyoaks and I cheer up immeasurably.

Gamespot US fires Jeff Gerstmann over Kane & Lynch review

Ah, I see. As it says though, facts are still up in the air a little bit, with Jeff "unable to comment". Just waiting for things to settle and see what's left. -

I personally still don't get why everyone is so sore about the TP review. All things considered I rather agreed with him. -

I'm waiting for confirmation first. If it is true though, yah, it's basically the first sign of the impending corporate-sponsored apocalypse, where they will destroy our homes, murder our families, ship us to war and make us pay money for the privilege. -

I certainly hope he hasn't been fired due to advertiser pressure. What would be the point of reviewing games in the first place? Just give everything a perfect 10 and every drooling, fascistic idiot goes away happy. -
Xpert Eleven Season 2 - New Recruits Needed!
gaggle64 replied to Mr_Odwin's topic in General Chit Chat
Damn, that was a close loss, and yet another injury. I wasn't expecting to win playing away and a team racked with injuries against superior opposition, but I'm disappointed we didn't hold for a draw. Threezok's got a pretty hot goal keeper there. -

Vote: Haggis Since he doesn't use his ability and rarely posts due to work commitments (as he claims) what do we have to loose? -

What better way to cover his tracks? I'm not convinced Haggis is being honest here. If he is Pichu, why is he the only Pokemon character in the entire game, and not even a very famous one? Why not Pikachu? There's something about his self-claimed power that doesn't quite fit either, I'm not convinced Chair would give a power that essentially counts the player out of the game. -

Your definitely a suspect Haggis, you didn't vote Bowser out after all and I reckon there were groupings of villains and individuals all over the place. -

Somebody still has the power to kill, otherwise this game would be over by now - who ever has been going around poisoning people with that snake I think. -

Alright Ashmat spill the beans: you got one shot to explain how you got the sands of time. -

Cube has a good idea, I seem to recall it was Pokemon who nicked the Sands, and since Giovanni seems to be the only person with Pokemon, it follows he gave them to someone in his team. -

He's definitely been around and posted very occasionally - all very suspicious. Unless someone comes up with something, I guess he's our prime suspect. I'm going to wait until Cube posts though. -

Does anyone know if it's a good guy or a bad guy who has the sands of time? I know who put him to sleep. Also, Strider was the only player who did not vote against Thunderer yesterday. -
What Were Your Top 5 360 games This Year?
gaggle64 replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
Little bit of googiling later, I see 6 of the 7 games are actually 07 titles, so if pushed: 1.Mass Effect 2.Forza 2 3.Bioshock 4.Halo 3 3.Crackdown -
What Were Your Top 5 360 games This Year?
gaggle64 replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
I don't think I've played enough 360 games from this year for a full five, though it has been a most excellent year for video games all round. My favourite of 07 has to be Mass Effect. It's not perfect, but the bits that don't work are only so apparent because of the stuff around that does work, and they work really, really well. It's obvious Bioware didn't get as much time on this as they wanted, with Microsoft "Studios" probably mailing them severed fingers from their loved ones until they got a guaranteed pre-holiday release. Though they clearly had to cut some content short, the epic all-encompassing sci-fi opera that Bioware promised is very much there and for that I give them my unremitting thanks. It's the sheer ambition and scope of this game that causes my jaw to drop just considering it, and then drop further still at how much of it they were able to successfully realise. Bottom line: I am confident that by the end of the 360's life, we will all be looking at possibly one of the greatest sci-fi trilogy's of any medium. -

Good point. I'm still certain if we lynch Thunderer we've got them by the balls. Good. I'm sure you'll know what you may need to do with it. -

A refresher: I can follow people to see who targets them. Last night I followed Tellyn, and only Thunderer targeted him. Tellyn is now dead. Thunderer is clearly the evil Pokemon Master, the most prolific killer in the whole game. Lynch the Pokemon Master. Save the Mushroom Kingdom. -

Only one person targeted Tellyn last night. It was Thunderer. For the love of god, string him up by his heels. -

Since he seems to have proven his credentials that leaves Paj and Haggis, one being Cortex but presumably powerless, the other evidentially Miles Edgeworth. Cube, if you still have that thing you got in the team, you may have to use it soon. <deliberately vague> He was killed with a dragonite as I recall, the wielder of which we now know to be Thunderer.
