  1. My friend and I were Pokémon Red & Blue fanatics when we were younger, always trading and competing (gotta love the old Game Link Cable :D). One day, in frustration over wasting 500 Poké Dollars on a Magikarp (we've all done it ...), I traded it with my mate for some other Pokémon I can't remember.

... That Magikarp later evolved into a Gyarados, ultimately becoming the strongest of all of our Pokémon and the first of our Pokémon to reach level 100. My Pokémon never stood a chance against him from that day on.

    Talk about feeling dumb!

  2. Its their name. If you fail to give a Pokemon a name their breed becomes their name, and as such should have a capital. Its basic English :p

Okay, ASHLEY, so when I, DANNYBOY-THE-DANE, spell my name, it's supposed to be capitalised all the way through like this? Yup, basic English. :p

I thought it's because the name is fully capitalised when you capture it, just like with any Pokémon.

That's just what they do with names in the Pokémon games: Professor Oak, the Gym Leaders, even the pre-chosen names for your character and your rival (though when you type in a name yourself, just like with the Pokémon, you can choose to only capitalise the first letter).

It doesn't make sense for them to do it to Jigglypuff in Smash Bros. (as Pokémon names are just like any normal English name, i.e. only first letter capitalised). They haven't done it to Pikachu, Lucario, Squirtle, Ivysaur nor Charizard, nor did they do it to the other Pokémon in Melee. Now, why the heck would they do it to Jigglypuff?

EDIT: For some reason they haven't capitalised the whole name in the American version of the Dojo. Also, the text is a bit different, and why do they get a dark background to the box art? It looks so much cooler! :p

  3. Started karate half a year ago, but had to take a break because I couldn't fit it in my schedule. It's the first time I've actually been doing something physically active, but I know for sure that I'm not done with martial arts. I think it's the only "sport" that ever interested me.

  4. C-stick is better if you can't time it with the actually joystick. Only problem with it is that it is a tad weak (can't charge it up).

Yeah, there's always the slight risk that your timing is off when tapping the Control Stick and pressing the A Button. It can be really annoying in hectic matches. I never use the C Stick, though.

  5. At least I'm not the only one who has an addiction to swords and likes High School Musical. :p

Another thing that I came to think of: Plushies. I love plushies. I have a lot of plushies in my room, way above the average number for a male 16-year-old. Let's see ... I count 20 at the moment.

  6. In Danish, we have two terms for a friend of male and female gender, "ven" and "veninde", respectively. It's common in the northern European countries to add a suffix to words to imply that the person is female. Other examples are "sygeplejer" (male nurse) and "sygeplejerske" (female nurse). The suffixes "-inde" and "-ske" are very common in Danish, and the "-in-" part of the suffix are seen in other northern European languages, too, German being a good example ("Freund" and "Freundin", friend of male and female gender, respectively). Ironically, in German, "Freundin" often means "girlfriend", just like in English.

  7. I did not know about any of this, but I feel offering my condolences is in its place. I have a hard time even imagining losing somebody so close to me, so it would be wrong of me to say that I know how you feel. I can only wish you the best of luck in your future and offer you my sincerest compassion.

  8. Shit, you're not gonna buy the European game again?

Bah, that way i can't play with you!!! :'(

Bah, i'l guess i'l have to choose the Laggy "Anyone" option

From what you say I take it that you cannot play a US version online from a PAL version?

Also, do you guys think these problems are due to the use of the Freeloader? Or do you think they are general problems with Brawl?

  9. I know this is the spoiler thread, but I'm playing it safe;

Just finished SSE, but I haven't yet unlocked Toon Link, Jigglypuff or Wolf. Am I supposed to have done so? Don't tell me how you actually do, I just want to make sure I didn't miss them somewhere along the SSE, because I can't really be bothered to play through it again right now.

Exactly those 3 have to be found in the SSE to be unlocked. They don't just pop up along the way like the rest.

It's great to hear that Wolf isn't as cloney as made out to be, but you gotta admit Krystal would've been more original.
