  1. They do tend to go ''omg girl gamer'' then fall in love with me

Who wouldn't fall in love with a girl gamer?

On topic, I'm not sure a gaming forum is the best place to look for advice about women. :p Though what's been said sounds pretty reasonable. In danger of sounding like a worn-out cliché: Be yourself. The girl wouldn't want to date you if she wasn't already interested. And since you have probably been yourself when she became interested in you, that means she's interested in the real you, not some role you play.

But again, this is coming from someone who has never had a girlfriend nor been on a date, so you judge the credibility of the advice.

  2. AEIOUY?

    Are you serious?

    It's a consonant.

    Consonants: BCDFGHJKLMNPQRSTVWXYZ.

    Vowels: AEIOU

Did a little reading on Wikipedia. It seems the definiton of vowels and consonants are not as simple as I've always been taught.

Well, here in Denmark, there is a very sharp and clear definiton of vowels and consonants: Vowels are sounds that can only be spelled by themselves, like A or O. Consonants, if spelled like they sound, need a vowel and one or more consonants: B = be; L = el.

In Danish, AEIOUY(ÆØÅ) are vowels and abide the rule that they can only be spelled by themselves. BCDFGHJKLMNPQRSTVWXZ are consonants and abide the rule that they need both consonants and vowels to be spelled like they sound.

it's a half-vowel thing innit? Supergrunch'll fly in in a bit and be way more precise, I'm sure.

Yeah, that guy knows a lot about languages.

  3. Well, I hate watching pretty much any scary or gore-filled movie, simply beacuse I'm a pathetic wimp on that field.

That's not to say I dislike horror movies. I'm fascinated by them - I just can't stand watching them. :p

The ones that fascinate (and scare) me the most are:

    1) Those that revolve around something supernatural and do it well, which means that the scary "unknown" in the movie stays unknown and unexplained.

    2) Thriller-like horror movies that leave you in a hell of paranoia.

Movies like Saw don't actually scare you, but they push your limits in regard to gore and self-mutilation, which is actually a very interesting psychological subject.

  4. I watched this film last night called Halloween H20, it wasn't too scary, but at the end I thought the parts when Laurie takes out Michael would make a quality Ownage compilation video.

I hate horror movies, get scared quite easily by them, but this wasn't too bad as there were lots of other people. Everyone was just cracking up at the film, I was in hysterics and everyone was cheering for Laurie.

When she brakes hard in the van and Michael shoots through the windscreen I shouted "Two-Nil!" which was met with great reception at the time.

    Um, wrong thread?

  5. All these ideas sound really great ... but are they actually realistic? Gamers have great ideas for games all the time, but how many developers would actually do all that?

Sorry for being pessimistic, but I always feel negative when I hear about great ideas for games that will never be. I've seen it way too many times before. Gamers have too good imaginations - real life can't keep up. :p

  6. I realized today that I have the arm thing too. Mostly when I'm walking. It just feels wrong to just have my arms next to me. So I always put my hands in the pockets of my coat or try to hold onto something or whatever. Just very annoying. =O

And today it was weird, but I felt like I'd "forgotten" how to walk properly. Like, it felt weird the way I was placing my feet so with every step I tried to adjust it, which probably resulted in a funny walk. Dunno, hard to explain it. X3

I can relate to walking thing. We're not used to think about it, it's one of those self-controlling motions ... autonome motions, is it? But then we start to think about them ...

  7. I don't understand. There is nothing to agree or disagree with! Basically there is a joke and if you don't get it or whatever then never mind, I can't understand why you don't myself (I love cats too, but I know that cat isn't real so I can laugh at it). There is not cat actually dying though, remember that, it's not real. If it was real I would complain, but 'cause it's not, I can find it funny.

Maybe you're just too touchy :heh: : peace: It's more likely we just have a different sense of humour.

    This however, I found hilarious:

Comparing a computer simulated car advert to a sadistic horror film that includes scenes of people cutting off body parts, or diving into pits of dirty needles? Awesome.

And yes, that is INCREDIBLY cute, in fact it has maxed out my cute-quota for the day. Also really clever.

It's not that the cat thing is nearly as bad as the Saw movies, but it was just to prove my point: Just because we know it isn't real doesn't necessarily make it more bearable to watch. As I have said, I have a very soft spot for cats and I really can't see the fun in the "joke".

Like you say, we just have very different views on the topic. :) We can both walk away wiser than we were before ... well, you can: DON'T SHOW ME CATS GETTING HURT! :shakehead :p

Oh, and regarding the Pokémon chibi video ...

    OMG! SQUEEEAL! *faints from cuteness*

*wakes up and looks around* ... Did someone see that? D'oh!

  8. You seem to missing the point of the joke.

Also it wasn't a real commercial, it was a joke.

Also it wasn't a real cat (this part is important)

Welsh that is awesome, I love mega64

Yes, I miss the point of the joke because I cannot see the point. What is funny about it?

I don't care if it's a commercial or not, as I don't find it funny at all.

And no, the cat not being real is absolutely irrelevant. Images are images and can be disturbing. The Saw movies are not real, but that doesn't mean I feel indifferent about watching them.

We view this in completely different ways. I can't see the fun in this so-called joke, probably because I have a soft spot for cats. I find the way in which the cat is killed to be non-humorous and kind of evil as it is dying slowly and painfully while under stress. The point is not if the cat is real or not, the point is that I find it tasteless and a little twisted. But that's what they call art nowadays, isn't it?

Sorry about my rant, but I really don't agree with you.

  9. well it also says its an "EVIL" car like in EVIL > CRIMINAL> BAD

I guess we had an idea what was going to happen, but curiosity is a powerful force, is it not?

Still, no matter what, I don't like it. I don't think it's fit for a commercial. The pidgeon one is funny because of the surprise effect, but the cat one just hasn't got anything funny about it in my eyes. It's a very mean spirited and hurtful (is that a word?) way to kill something.

But maybe it's just me and cats.
