  1. Well, my power is there to protect me against being voted off on wrong suspicions, but I'd love to make it through a mafia as a townie without actually having been the target of suspicion. :heh: To be completely honest I think I have proven myself to the town by now, and it's pretty risky to test it at this point. There are presumably two or three scumnags left, and they could easily coordinate a quick strike against me.

I analysed Sméagol on page 17 with 40 p.p.p. and got above 90%.

I don't have anyone I'm particularly suspicious of at the moment - just a lot of uncertainty. Eenuh still bothers me, chairdriver is awfully quiet (plus Gyarados is always suspicious), and Tales with his 20-30% lies and migraine-inducing mind also rubs me the wrong way.

  2. I hate when recipes are vague, like "boil the potatoes". I don't know how to boil potatoes! How long should they boil? How much salt should I add? Aaaah!

Or when they tell you to do something that you've never heard of before. Like, "do [thing] to the meat". If I knew how to do [thing] I'd be a good enough cook that I wouldn't need a recipe!

Exactly! This is exactly what I mean!

  3. And presenting it the right way involves screaming it as if you've just re-defined the world?

Did you read my entire post? I specifically state that I didn't feel there was anything funny about him in those clips, that I didn't even feel like he was trying to be funny in those particular clips. If those clips are representative of his style of comedy, I understand why you don't find him funny.

That being said, the truth can easily be hilarious. It's all about the delivery.

  4. You've obviously never read the comics, it's like a soap withe super powers.

I haven't no, and character drama is of course an important part of any superhero, but comics and films are different media. Comics can have longer and more elaborate storylines with a lot of character development, but a superhero film shouldn't sacrifice the visual pleasure of seeing superpowers in action for too much character drama.

We don't know anything about the film's plot yet, though, so I'm merely describing my own personal worst case scenario based on the comment he made.

  5. One of the reasons I hate Carlin. Apparently shouting out common sense as if it's revolutionary thinking is hilarious comedy.

Oh it's context is it Carlin? Oh thanks, because I never realised that until you repeatedly shouted it.

And don't get me started on his save the planet stuff.

To be fair, the simple truth can be hilarious if presented the right way. But on the other hand, that clip didn't really feel like he was trying to be funny about it. But maybe that's the problem in and of itself.

  6. Dude, way. When I got home and checked my bag I was ready to rip my own testicles off, sprinted weeping back to the train station, and they'd got no wind of any lost property, so I guess some fucker got him/her self a brand new 3DS. Although it came with a copy of Rayman 3D so he'll probably go insane/blind trying to play the damn thing.

I feel your pain, bro. I lost my bag with my old DS and a bunch of other stuff at a train station. You want to smack yourself for being so stupid.

  7. turning the lights on and off wastes more electricity than keeping them on!

This particular statement is false. It's been tested. It's simply a myth told to kids to stop them from playing with the lights.

  8. Just give it a try. In theory, reinstalling the game should make it work perfectly, and judging from your problem it could be something silly like a conflict with AVG of some sort of another. (Remember, after installing a new antivirus, reinstall KOTOR 2)

Yeah, that's what puzzles me as well. But I'll give it a try. Thanks. :)

And it worked! :D Thanks for the help, triforcemario! :)

  9. Current Players (11);

Day Eight deadline is 14:00PM GMT on 28th March

Vote : Ellmeister - 3 ; The Peeps, Diageo, Chairdriver.

    A-hem ... I never retracted my vote.

  10. You cant delete stuff from the discs.

See, this is what I thought, but I wasn't sure.

The only thing I can think of is that you should make sure that you've uninstalled the game/removed it from the currently installed programs list before you reinstall it, or you may just end up with the same broken installation every time.

I'm pretty sure I removed everything very thoroughly, but I can give it another shot.

Note that the faulty installation message didn't pop up before I reinstalled the game, if that makes any difference.

I just have no clue what has gone wrong. :blank:

  11. I am utterly pissed right now.

Okay, so when I booted up Knights Of The Old Republic II today, AVG claimed to have found a win32/heur malware virus on the .exe file. I found this weird since it's never been an issue before, and I've even played it without problem the past few days. I had just installed some patches, but I'm pretty certain AVG would have spotted those already during the installation, so I didn't really think they could be the problem.

Not wanting to take any risks, I put the file in quarantine for the time being. I then checked online, and I found that AVG has a history of mistaking .exe files for malware due to the way they're packaged. "Heur" stands for "heuristic" and basically means AVG thinks the file "behaves" like a virus without actually having proof that it is a virus. "All right, then," I thought, "this was likely just a fluke brought on by today's AVG update," and I restored the file. Now, it did worry me, when I initially quarantined it, that AVG mentioned outright deleting a number of files and data, but I thought, "Hey, I can see on the quarantine page what files and data were deleted along with the .exe file, so restoring the file should restore those files and data as well, right?"

Wrong, apparently, since it appeared that only the .exe file was restored with no mention of the other files and data. And my fears were confirmed when the game simply wouldn't start. "Ugh, FINE. I'll reinstall the damn thing." So I copied the save files and uninstalled the game completely, deleting the entire game folder in the process.

And then everything sorted itself out.

    Or so I thought.

The next bout of creeping fear came when the autorun on my installation disc suddenly didn't work. Nothing happened. "All right, it's just a coincidence. Merely bad luck." I opened the disc manually and ran the setup. It worked. It was installing. Phew. Everything's fi- NO, IT WASN'T!

After the installation had finished, I ticked the box that says "Run the game" and clicked "Finish".

The game does not seem to be installed properly.

Please restore the installation or reinstall the game.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

How could the installation be wrong? I'd redone it completely from scratch!

    Unless ...

And this is where YOU people come into the picture:

Is it possible that the quarantine and deletion may actually have deleted some files on the disc itself? Is my game ruined forever now? Or is the problem some silly, stupid little thing that can be easily solved when you're not as technologically illiterate as me?

If somebody can help, please do, because I fear I've royally screwed up my game.

  12. Don't worry, Tales - my notes tell me this is the first time a large yellow and orange Pokémon has been featured, so I don't think you need to backtrack.

The large, majestic Pokémon, isn't that MadDog/Lugia?

Now, as for last night's result, I targetted Eenuh, page 23 with 40 posts per page. I got 100% truths, which is new, but I also got a blip and a beep, and my powers have been enhanced for the next night. Now, the 100% could be due to the power enhancer, but if we're being really paranoid, the blipping could be an indication that my results has been tampered with ... especially since the blipping came before both the result and the subsequent power surge. But at least the power enhancer part of her role is true. The rest ... I have no idea about.

As for my analysis of Nintendohnut, it was on page 20 with 40 posts per page, and I got 90% truths.

    And finally:

    Vote: Ellmeister

(That's the fourth vote for him, by the way - not counting potential double votes.)
