  1. I'll keep mine as Nintendo developed game only because it'd get too difficult for me to choose taking third parties into account. 1. Super Metroid- Most atmospheric game ever made, beauty incarnated in game form, Nintendo's masterpiece for sure. 2. Link to the Past- Massive, epic adventure spanning 2 amazing worlds with some incredibly well made dungeons full of challening puzzles. The best Zelda easily to me. 3. Super Mario World- a slide of 2d Platforming heaven, plain and simple 4. Super Mario Brothers 3- yet another slice of the same thing, debatable whether it's as tasty, but I'll go this way just now. 5. Zelda: Majora's Mask- A very clever and well thought out game that does a great job stirring all kinds of emotions. Quality over quantity with dungeons, but what a level of quality they are, a hugely original and innovative title, an experience the likes of which is unlikely to ever be seen again. Beats out its predecessor in my opinion due to the amount of imagination and originality it contains.
  2. I think it's extremely, if not certain, that the Rev controls thing is true, because the thing is, the Gamecube is going to be heavily overshadowed by competition next year, making it extremely hard to sell Zelda. With a title they've put this much work into, they're not going to be happy if it hardly sells and gets no attention. The way to combat this? Add exciting new elements to it that will work with their upcoming new console so that it can almost be considered a Revolution launch title and will therefore shift a ton more copies.
  3. Just remember by "worldwide launch" they didn't mean it'd be released everywhere at EXACTLY the same time, just with not as long as usual between releases. If it was out in May in Japan, it'd probably be likely to assume September at earliest for Europe I think, but likely later. I still don't expect it until at least August for Japan/US though myself.
  4. A saturn emulator wouldn't even be close to possible, the saturn is basically the hardest system to emulate, they still can't pull it off well to this day.
  5. No offence, but as far as I'm aware, this is already made and out, at least in Japan.
  6. I'd love to be at the Nintendo conference, it's my most anticipated event of next year, but sadly I'll have to settle with the online broadcast...assuming I can get onto one, chances are they'll be even more flooded with people than they were last year. This time it WILL be a REVOLUTION.
  7. I'm not sure, there's only so much they can put into the controller without it either becoming too heavy for one handed play, or draining batteries too quickly. I think the last secret will be likely to be based around the system more than the control.
  8. Well Sonic Rush on the DS is great and the best Sonic title in the last 10 years to me, easily.
  9. Sonic Rush actually popped into the charts this week though, which is great.
  10. Whoa slow down there, you're not going to find something like this to actually BUY this long before the console is out. Sure there were mock up images people made of how it'd look, but that's about it. If you're just looking for a mock up image, that I can deliver. http://www.4colorrebellion.com/media/pics/may/rev_nes.jpg
  11. That's the thing, the Metroid Prime 3 video may have been done with "modified Gamecube kits" but the thing is, that's pretty much all Revolution seems to be as well, a modified and upgraded Gamecube. Chances are retro made that video with an idea of what the final specs would be in mind. If you look closely there are improvements over Prime 2 as well, not huge but they're there. The biggest thing that makes me think this is a near accurate representation though is simply this: Why would they have shown it as a Revolution game if it was way off? I don't think with the way Nintendo is that they would've. To me either they showed it because it was accurate, or this is going to be slightly below the Revolution's level, so people who saw the video will be a bit more impressed when the "real" games are shown at next E3. I don't expect anything much more improved over this though, slightly increased polycount, slightly better lightning, slightly better textures, but no massive leaps in anything.
  12. Rare are actually the ones porting the Donkey Kong games, Microsoft allow them to work on GBA development, hence the other games they've made for it too.
  13. That GPU is very, very unlikely to be real, I trust the word of the major third party developers IGN contacted far more than the source of a fansite, one which would very likely jump at any chance to be able to deny the idea Revolution will be fairly underpowered.
  14. The George Harrison quote means nothing. A top Nintendo executive is not going to say "our games are going to look worse". Hence why he added in "I think" not to make it a total lie.
  15. Have you even seen the Gamecube's specs? Like I said, on paper it looks MUCH BETTER than the PS2 and isn't that much behind the Xbox specs wise. In what way does that not do it justice?
  16. The Gamecube NEVER looked underpowered on paper, I don't know what anyone is talking about, the specs on paper are all over double the PS2's, the only people who thought the system was underpowered were those who knew nothing about it. When the developers have said they think they can twice the power of Gamecube out of Revolution, they're taking into consideration just how much the Gamecube can do. Please, regardless of how unlikely it seems, IGN aren't lying and Matt is not exaggerating anything when he says the Revolution is aiming for an entirely different market. Metroid Prime 3's video is very likely extremely close to what we'll be seeing on Revolution. The GPU is going to have the same situation as the CPU, it'll be a highly upgraded and optimized version of the Gamecube one. This is probably how Nintendo will work in the Gamecube backwards compatibility too, as the system wont have enough power to emulate the GC (emulation takes a good 5 times the original system's power to turn out well).
  17. Well here's the problem with Revolution. This is one of, if not the biggest power gap there's ever been between consoles in competition and not only that, this is the LAST of the consoles to be on the market. In the past, the way people would be impressed enough to buy a next gen system would be buy the first images and videos they saw totally wowing them and making them think they HAD to have this system. In all the above cases, the successfull above systems were able to do that because the weakest ones were either out first or at the same time as the competitors. The weakest ones have never been available LAST however. The reality with Revolution is that not only is it going to be weakest, it's going to be a whole year after the Xbox 360, with the people's idea of "next gen" already firmly buried in the heads of gamers everywhere. What are people going to think when they see games of the quality of a souped up Xbox, after a whole year of being exposed to the quality of a console MANY times more powerful than the Xbox? It's as simple as this, their first reaction will not be very positive. In other words, the only way Nintendo can really sell this thing now is if they have ONE HELL of a marketing campaign. They need to market it to a point they've never done before, they have to show everyone exactly why they should be buying their system. Adverts on every channel in every country explaining exactly what the controller does, print advertising everywhere, tons of posters and billboards, sponsoring, etc. It needs to be huge...and I'm sorry if anyone is unhappy about this, but going by their previous advertising history, I'm not sure if they can pull it off. I hope they can, I realy do, but is it possible? I'm really not sure. Please prove me wrong, Nintendo.
  18. Wow, I had low expectations for power now, but not THAT low, this sounds like the Rev processor might not even break 800Mhz. When I heard "2-3 times Gamecube" earlier this year, I figured 1Ghz was the bare minimum. I can only hope the games are truly stellar now, because this is even slightly disappointing for me now and I was trying not to care about specs.
  19. More alternate versions of current characters, like how there's Mario and Dr. Mario in Melee. I'd like to see water pack Mario and vacuum cleaner Luigi as characters in SSBR. Ridley would be appreciated too, although he seems very unlikely. I wouldn't disapprove of TINGLE in the game either to be honest. He'd be a good punching bag.
  20. Look, IGN aren't SPONG, if they say they heard from several >>MAJOR THIRD PARTY DEVELOPERS<<, then they MEAN IT. A bunch of big developers aren't going to spit out lies for the hell of it. Please, less denial, more acceptance. Nintendo NEVER said they wouldn't let specs be leaked, they said they'd probably never bother announcing them themselves because they didn't feel it mattered. It's obvious why they were thinking that way with what we've just found out.
  21. I wish everyone would stop being in denial. The RAM is essentially CONFIRMED and even if they have a super processor and graphics card, which is hugely unlikely when they've only went with this much RAM, as I'm sure they'll want balance, there's only so much they could do with it with a quarter of the memory of other next gen systems. I think it's a better idea for everyone to lower their expectations now for when we really do start seeing games. Metroid Prime 3's video is definitely looking like a good representation of Revolution just now.
  22. You know you COULD argue that the controller technology is costing them a huge amount of money, hence why they're downplaying graphics technology, because really, it probably is. I mean it's obvious that it's their priority and all. Another part of it though I think is that they've realised since their vision is going to end up with less third party support, they're going to need to put a lot more money and developing the actual games for the system, also hiring a lot more staff and opening up new studios.
  23. http://revolution.ign.com/articles/673/673578p1.html Well I'm not surprised, I don't see why a major Nintendo executive would've lied. Apparently it's like a souped up Xbox...and that's it. It's now officially ALL about the controller. I really hope it's as fun as it has to be to win now.... For those still with doubts due to the fact we don't know all the specs, like processing speed, we still know that it only has around a quarter of the RAM of the 360 and the fact developers seem to be thinking of it as "another current gen system" just does not seem like a good sign for what they think they can do with it just now. Personally though, this doesn't really matter to me. When I saw the controller I could tell why horsepower was being downplayed. If it can give me the kind of experiences they're promising it will, then surely that's good enough. The only thing bothering me now is that this seems like it probably renders multiplatform games on Revolution next gen impossible.
  24. Considering he left Nintendo years ago due to not liking the idea of doing sequels much, it IS a surprise that he's back for this, especially considering it's not just a sequel, it's the third in a series.
  25. I've completed Professional, it's really not THAT hard, nothing compared to trying to unlock the handcannon anyway in my opinion.
