  1. The title question is answered pretty easily even by looking at forum sections here. The Nintendo sections are growing increasingly lacking in activity and from the looks of it the other consoles section is on its way up.
  2. Those screenshots are quite astounding! Hope it really feels that good looking in the finished product.
  3. ^Less than 4000 in sales difference isn't exactly an "assraping" really. It mainly shows that the 360 still hasn't got that draw to the hardcore RPG audience I guess, since you still get a big part of that kind of fanbase that will reject everything to do with Microsoft until the day they die. Same fans that kicked up a moaning and whining shitstorm when FFXIII went to 360 too.
  4. It's not a case of "most" of the levels being nighttime, it's just the daytime levels last for minutes while the nighttime levels are slower and last much longer.
  5. Good to see that Wii music sold fairly poorly. I hope that's kind of a kick in the ass for them to not crap out shit that bad.
  6. Didn't have the time, going by the podcast he had a recent death in his family too or something that impacted on his ability to review some titles. They also said though they felt in a way it was good to have a set of "fresh eyes" on the game and not judge it based on being a sequel but as a stand alone product.
  7. For the record with the IGN review, the guy who reviewed it (Damon Hatfield or whatever) hadn't played the original but he was trying to speak from the perspective of someone who's played a ton of j-rpg's and simply judged it against his standard for them.
  8. They dont "distort" everything at all. The only people who distort things are the people who write up the inaccurate "transcript" summaries of what was said in them.
  9. Game didn't chart in any form whatsoever by the way (in the UK at least). Reggie said it'd only go to the US if he saw good sales elsewhere so I guess that scratches any hope of them getting to play it.
  10. That's interesting, I'm pretty sure Jun Senoue was listed before as doing music for the game with a "Celtic feel" to it. The track in the trailers is by Crush40 too.
  11. ^Silent Hill is not a good comparison to make actually. Some people would argue that series has been dead since the third game, with "the room" being considered a joke by a lot of fans. I'd say RE is definitely the higher quality franchise, it's at least had the guts to redefine itself and try new things.
  12. I wonder what kinda time frame this is gonna come out in. I suppose it must be a while off since Unleash is just around the corner.
  13. The game has a button used to drift around corners, it looks like they didnt know about it.
  14. Yeah it was in one of the vocal albums of Sonic music that come out every so often. It's pretty much exactly what you'd expect.
  15. Looks pretty good. I'll actually wait for reviews to know which version (if any) to buy. The versions have somewhat different level layouts and I may be wrong but this one does seem to run at a smoother framerate, so there's no guarantee the 360 version will be the better game even if it is prettier.
  16. This is a unique idea and it kinda sickens me to see all the negativity on those gametrailers comments, like anything simplistic at all is automatically a terrible idea. The only thing is it seems like it basically just does what the DK Bongos did...well without the clapping!
  17. I just meant the character design.
  18. This game looked good in the video! Female kind of makes me think of a mix between Zelda and that Kid Icarus angel woman.
  19. Quality over quantity! One truly good thing would be enough I say.
  20. Well let's just say people say that for basically absolutely every game that ever sells under expectations and that scenario you mentioned virtually never ends up happening (apart from ridiculous exceptions like the casual crowd titles). Fact is the first 2 or 3 days or so sales of most hardcore games (for any system in general) are massively over the rest of that week
  21. A whopping 20th place on the Wii only UK charts for its debut, not even close to All console. Yikes. Not really shocking though with a game like this sadly.
  22. I don't think anyone's been interested in the game for its artistic or creative merits, it's simply because they're trying to push the technical side. It's mainly apparent through the large areas with a fair amount of geometric detail, the lighting and stuff like the bump mapping on the characters. It's came across as impressive in most videos due to those things but it's not a game that's ever going to look amazing in screens. Like a game like RE4, it sacrafices anti aliasing and has a mix of good and bad texture resolutions so the main technically impressive aspects come when you see things moving and lighting and shadow effects happening and what not. It's pushing more "advanced" techniques than Metroid Prime 3 was (It was basically the Gamecube games but with added bloom) but it lacks all the creativity that Retro is capable of and doesn't have as much visual polish.
  23. It hasn't changed at all since the first screens/trailer. In fact some of those are the same screens as before. Unless you're being pretty dumb and meaning "the screens dont look as good as the video" I mean gee fancy that a game looking better in motion.
  24. Another port that should probably stay within Japan. The REmake is an astounding game but it has no place on Wii outside of backwards compatibility.
  25. For all the excitement over the lower quality scan pics, I'm surprised no one's blurted "Arrgh fucking circle blob shadows!" at the direct feed ones posted now. I'm pretty sure some of the backgrounds by the way are pre-rendered or at least sort of "faked". I think I vaguely recall stuff like that in the demo I played of one of the first PS2 games.
