  1. Note; The killing of the main character/s, especially after character development, is entirely more thought-provoking/striking than if they lived. Shocking, generally.
  2. Beneath The Planet Of The Apes I love how this, though a sequel, fitted perfectly into the scene set by the first one. It didn't feel disconnected at all. Overall, much better than I thought, and definitely not a particularly happy film. 8/10
  3. Yay, made my mix, and the cover is almost done. Seems to have ended up as vaginally themed, lol! (Sounds worse than it actually is, for those of a nervous disposition)
  4. I like the one song I have by Death In Vegas, Hands Around My Throat. I need to check out more of their stuff. --- In other news, NO! NO! Watch only if you're into torture.
  5. Yeah, Ratatat are very good. I only have their remix of Bjork's Wanderlust though.
  6. I don't understand why pop artists can never be at all interesting with album covers. Actually, I do, completely, but it still annoys me.
  7. I like Does It Offend You, Yeah? too. I need to get their album at some point. --- I realised I love my singing voice. I need record an EP of covers.
  8. Sounds like that one off the last album. *looks for which one specifically* "Ooh Ooh Baby". Pretty bad. Considering, within the generi-dance/pop genre, Rihanna is making better stuff.
  9. Why are you 6 months behind on everything? Especially since that's all chart-y music... I borrowed Sam Sparro off Chair, can't be bothered listening to it. Hated Black & Gold anyway. And MGMT felt a bit overhyped...or maybe I just find them hard to listen to (save Time To Pretend). Heard Sweet About Me a few times, decent. But I got bored of Amy Winehouse-a-likes (and the original herself) a long time ago. ------------------- Sometimes I listen to this song and I think a little bit inside of me awakens, and asks the rest of me, "What's going to happen?" "Where will I be?" "Will I miss where I am now?". One of the most stunning songs ever.
  10. You can tell they love the thrill of it though.
  11. I love how Natalie is dressed as what looks like an Anatasia tribute singer, from some really shabby bar.
  12. I didn't until I ended up reading an article about Planet of the Apes in a magazine. Sure it was spoiled then, but I might haqve bought the boxset without having read said article. Meh.
  13. Just bought a whole stack of PJ Harvey B-sides and Jenny Lewis' new album off iTunes, should be awesome.
  14. That's exactly what I bought! I had the strangest urge to see the original, can't explain why, and as luck would have it, all 5 for £7!
  15. No...I eagerly await it. I got a few cards through my mail repository flap, but not a lovely parcel.
  16. While I love Placebo (probably the only band one of us loves, and the other hates!), their version is only different to Kate's, not better. In most cases I'd listen to Kate's over theirs, however, theirs is darker.
  17. Planet Of The Apes Though the twist is pointlessly ruined (it's on the DVD cover!), I never knew this was anything more than a 60s's action romp. Much more in depth than that, and the apes were great. 8/10
  18. Thanks! Actually my fave birthday ever, so far, everyone beens surprisingly nice, and I got more than I wanted present-wise, and I love it all! Plus It looks like I'm having a massai rave at some point in celebration. Also, My name (in my head) is Paaj, Mean, Aah. As in, I pronounce it in 3 sections. AND I don't have a scottish accent, but thanks for the attempts (poor to say the least!) at one. Got a tonne of cool stuff; Classic iPod 120 GBs, Guitar Hero On Tour, Comic Book Tattoo + Piece by Piece (to Tori Amos books, the first being the HUGE volume of comics she was signing this year), Shutter glasses (lol), about 80 quid, vouchers, Cd's..books...and perhaps funniest of all, a Harmonica, a Tambourine and a Bongo drum! And a bunch of other stuff. A massive haul considering I didn't ask for half of it, yet love it all.
  19. I'm not familar with any of her B-sides, only her albums. And to be honest, her third album wouldn't be too hard to better. However, she seemed to have produced more pop-rocky songs , so perhaps the overall effect of the album would only be lowered by the inclusion of jarring songs? ---- In other news; Portishead's second album is intimate imensity.
  20. A lot of the time, the guys in charge control what gets onto an album (in commercial artists).
  21. He means "flashy" as in, attention-grabbing, bold etc.
  22. Although, shouldnt one try to make the transitions work? Obviously if you have, and they don't, it doesn't matter. But track order is important (to me at least).
  23. It's my birthday tomorrow, but since a lot of my family are mostly busy then, we had the "Birthday Tea" today. So I got pressies from my "imediate-extended" family. Got Portishead S/T, Jagged Little Pill Acoustic by Alanis Morissette and Me+Armini by Emilana Torrini...iTunes card, driving lesson goodies, books etc.
  24. Take That and Robbie Williams. =
  25. I found that today. Only given it one listen, dunno what to think really.
