  1. At least have it open, with a white T-shirt or something. Done up cardigans remind of granny-chic. Which is all kinds of wrong. Or that anorexic-man-looks-cool trend.
  2. "I've got meanness in me. And some of you girls have meanness in you too. And it's not necessarily something I know we're very proud of. Well...sometimes I'm not when I'm vvvvvvvvicious. And that usually happens because...ohhhh god... who knows why. But it's funny when it happens and you just become one of these like um...you know those comic books? Sven the berserker? Well, it'd be nice if I had a better understanding of it. And I think those of you that have those crazy tempers know what I'm talking about. Now some of you are at the other end of those crazy tempers, which isn't that fun either is it? Or maybe it is, isn't it, you little mmmMmmMmm, you little gimp, you! (snort-laughs) But um, the thing is, this girl I knew once named Marianne, was the absolutely, you know, coolest. She was totally cool. And yet, she didn't have this meanness in her. She had so many other things in her, you know, but meanness wasn't one of them. So, when I was hangin around her, I didn't need to have this meanness. Basically when my mother said, 'hey, um, oh my god...Marianne killed herself.' The only thing I could think of was, 'Fuck you, mom.' Because, in truth, nobody was really the same after Marianne killed herself." -- Tori intro to Marianne; Milwaukee, WI 06/08/96
  3. I kinda hate cardigans though (except grey/black) on guys...they just remind me of really annoying shops. I just wish TopMan wasn't the universal "trendy" shop. I've bought a few stuff in there, as they do good stuff, but it seems rubbish when you see other people in the same clothes as each other (you).
  4. I don't actualy own In Utero, but I do love Nevermind, but have had it for so long, I kinda forgot, If you get me. I'm thinking of going back into earlier artists, who I like, but don't own everything by, so yeah, I'll try to pick up In Utero at some point.
  5. ------- In other news, Deborah Harry's new single; I have to say, I love this woman. She made some pretty interesting pop during her solo career. Her last album (2007) was very fresh too, if a bit disjointed. I quite like this. I respect her doing what she does at her age, a bit less embarassingly than Madonna.
  6. Which Nirvana album would people here consider "best"? Nevermind or In Utero?
  7. Twelth Night (1996) Liked this a lot. Second film version I've seen, first theatrical release (seen the one with Parminder Nagra in it, which is interesting too). Stellar cast, and great performances all round. Only unbelievable thing (other than the obvious) is Imogen Stubbs voice...it's no where near manly enough to realistic. But then Orsino points that out so I guess it's meant to still sound womanly. 8.5/10
  8. Sorry, just you said it was a "mess". Then you won't appreciate what Bjork does 99% of the time.
  9. I'll say nothing. (Although this post serves as me saying something really, doesn't it? ) Not everything is lacquered with a think coating of gloss, before fed through the pop-tart factory. *snidey*
  10. It's an "ok" version of a very commonly found type of voice in music nowadays. Obviously you haven't been exposed to it a lot. One of the current most famous would be Cat Power, for example.
  11. *shouts* *listens* EDIT: I love it. This is the sound I wanted more of on Volta.
  12. I hope your birthday is happy.
  13. I wouldn't say I particularly liked Keane, but I do like Bedshaped as a song. You're looking foward to a music awards ceremony endorsed by MTV? That makes no sense. It's almost an oxymoron.
  14. I'm pretty sure going to a party as an old woman would out you so firmly on the radar, that you'd crack it's screen, making everyone angry.
  15. Went to Oxfam Music shop today, aka I won at life. Bought a Spritualized album, Let It Come Down. Bought Betcha Bottom Dollar by The Puppini Sisters. And I finally got my hands on Cd 2 of All Is Full Of Love by Bjork! I now have 2 full single sets, AIFOL, and It's Oh So Quiet. Also bought the Professional Widow single by Tori Amos. The shitty remix one that went to no.1, but it was 49p, and the fact it was on massive display felt funny.
  16. 10/10 - Avatar 8/10 - Sig No CAKE?! My cake is plain sponge cake, with jam and cream (a small amount) in the middle.
  17. That's absolutely terrifying. I'll never look at bells the same way again. He could be quite talented actor, if he wasn't such a twat.
  18. You tricksy knowledgable bastard! I assumed only I (and Chairdriver) knew anything outside of International Velvet... I may have to implement Plan C(i).
  19. Anyone watching Peter Kay's spoof of talent shows tonight? Britains Got The Pop Factor And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice. lol, the first bit was hilarious. It basically shows all the bullshit tricks these shows use. The judges decide not to put someone through because their backstory isn't sad enough etc. All the stuff I laugh at on the actual shows. I love the medleys the final 3 contestants do. Geraldine (the Michelle McManus spoof played by Peter Kay himself) started on a motorbike, singing Born To Run, with turned into Free Nelson Mandela, which hilariously morphed into Umbrella by Rihanna. She then finished with C'est La Vie by B*Witched! Look it up on Youtube tomorrow or something...hilarious.
  20. Tegan & Sara are amazingly awesome. I do like that mix, but I do prefer the original a little more.
  21. That kid reminds me of everything I hate in these shows. Like that kid that just released an album off Britains Got Talent. I like Diana...because her voice IS different, and more in tunw with what I might actually buy. I only saw like 3 performances last night, went out. I like Ruth too.
  22. I almost Ran over an angel. He had a nice big fat cigar. "In a sense," he said. "You're alone here. So if you jump, you best jump far."
  23. I wish my school did jokier big productions, It's alternatively a drama or musical, but not a trashy-fun one, like Grease. More like The Mikado, which to be fair, is amazing. We have Division Drama coming up soon, and Carmichael (my division) is GOING TO OWN. Seriously. A play-within-a-play sex farce. With added sex, and lessened farce (due to prop restrictions).
  24. 29.99, for PC Paperback, £7.99 DS Power Supply £6.99 AND A red Star Wars lego T-shirt, with Darth Vader on it, saying "you power is weak old man." I thought it was funny. £9.99 AND New school shoes. From Schuh, just like plain black everyday shoes, quite light. £79.99
  25. As much as I love you, I either didn't get those, or they just weren't that funny. They seem more like ones that would be funny if it happened in the room at the time. "You had to be there" kind thing. Don't leave me.
