  1. I have Untrue, the one he was nominated for the Mercury prize with, and it's V.artmospheric, which is nice. Not sure I'd like much other "normal" dubstep.
  2. I love. Like the opening, pre-credits bits in a horror film.
  3. Interesting... Love the Alien series (not AVP, which are technically prequels, since we're on the subject), but not too keen on the idea of a prequel to the first film. I mean, the mystery fo the Space Jockey and what happened to it/how long ago is brilliant, and imo best left alone. I read a bit of the comic series from years ago that explained it a bt, and it's just not very good. Maybe Scott will prove me wrong.
  4. The concept of soldiers irks me, but on a personal level. I resented having to do CCF, parading around my school yard as though the military and killing of others was something I wanted to be associated with. However, I'm not AGAINST the army and what they do really, just in my head it cries "wrong" at me. Obv if I were in that position, i'd kill someone headed toward me etc.
  5. First day of art exam. So far so good/ok. I'm in a blacked out space, so when I shone a light on what I painted, I realised it wasn't as amazing as I thought. So far painted my superman t-shirt and done a base for everything else in my self-portrait exam piece.
  6. Ok. --- Is Burial dub-step? He's brilliant. (Think he is)
  7. I'm not sure what the problem really is people have with the thread. Jay, you say you like the odd suggestion, but make out that everything else posted, that you don't like, is inferior and somehow clogging the thread. Or at least the suggestion that another thread is needing does so. I know people like to think its haggis talking about Ashley gabriella Perry or me talking about Tori Amos for 10000+ pages, but it's not.
  8. Oh god. I did din't I? :p ---- Listening to Black Wax as I read that! Really like them. The album's only a 5iver on iTunes, so might grab it.
  9. Just about to come tell you. I DL'd Maybe California from her site yesterday, and the video. Meh atm. So far, how I'd rank the songs; Flavor - This reminds me of...TVAB, the visuallette. And IGUANA. Welcome To England Curtain Call - yay Pip walking around town. Ophelia - yay Clyde being stalked around a graveyard by Tori dressed as Catwoman. 500 Miles - yay all the dolls at various monuments. Maybe California - yay Tori in various dresses on a cliff? Give - yay Santa being antisocial in a bar? :p But yeah. The visualettes are virtually pointless, but they appeal to my like of the doll concept from ADP, like assigning songs to each doll etc. For instance, I'm happy now i know Give is a Santa song, Ophelia a Glyde one etc. I'll add them to my individual doll playlsits when the album is released.
  10. Spent all day preparing for the art exam tomorrow. I had to single-handledly clear out this guy's space to use (we can swap if need be), but he is never in class and it's a filthy, filthy dump. I found a family of earwigs or something. Manky beyond belief. Ugh. I need a space that had plug sockets though, and that I could black-out. I THINK I'm doing a self-portrait thing, but I'm just...depressed. I've no no pieces really, and hardly anything in my sketchbook. I think i'll get a B. For the first time ever in art. Due to my own laziness/procrastination.
  11. I always quite liked that song. I don't think it suffers from the plague of replayability/catchability killing it like her other ones.
  12. Most certainly not. While your post was tl;dr, I haven't played a videogame for about 5 weeks or so. I can never feel I'm allowed to play the wii when I should be working. Obivously I just surf the net instead but then my family cant come in and criticise me. Hopefully in the summer I'll have more time/reason to play Wii.
  13. I stopped halfway through, but I noticed a sample (possibly not) from tha old 90's underground hit. The organ in the background. Let me see if I can find it.
  14. Stunning. Her legs are a marvel. I want her fuckin' ass. I want her fuckin' ass.
  15. I read this as 'Swine Flu Appreciation".
  16. You described why I love it.
  17. But...it's an exploration of time, and how it affects people and shit. I think it's brilliantly done. The way she plays with time too, emphasises many of the issues she tackles, I love that the long first section takes place over a single day, yet the short middle section spans 10 years. And so on. When I read it in class, It's annoying to read, as it requires a lot of concentration. But that doesn't make it bad. Not everything has to have pleasing hooks. It's not exactly a life-affirming book (in some respects, aspects could be seen as such, but overall, it's pretty sad/depressing).
  18. ... I can understand not liking it, but saying it's not a brilliant piece of literature? What's wrong with it?
  19. Be Safe. Don't breastfeed your swine.
  20. I'm listening to X-Ray Spex on recommendation from my dad. They're lovely.
  21. Oh no..it wasn't meant to be mean or anything! I just read that little list earlier today. Wasn't trying to make you look stupid or whatever. I never knew she'd cancelled due to illness before personally. (Since she's done a few while ill that weren't very good)
