Fucking bury me. I have never in my life seen the word "good" used in such a way. I don't know how else to respond. You're equating sales with quality and worth. I think this is silly and not what one does. And the opinion that if someone likes something, it is "good"? WTF is this. (To go to the extreme...) People "liked" Hitler in Nazi Germany in WWII. Someone likes putting kittens in bins, then it's good? Um. The end. Leave me alone. I don't care.

That is what's annoying me in the first place. Or I think it was. I can't even remember. Again, I didn't start off argueing with Diageo about the subjectivity/objectivity debate...mainly because I have little to no view on it. I just have my own way of listening to and appreciating music, so there's no point trying to tell people how to do that themselves (and you shouldn't). I know that "Go Long" by Joanna Newsom is a better song than "U Smile" by Justin Beiber. HOWEVER I can completely understand if people prefer to listen to "U Smile", as J.Newsom has a very divisive voice, musical style, Beiber's song is shorter, catchier etc. I'm 100% there's a better heavy-metal song than the r.n.b song "Your Love" by Nicki Minaj, but I personally don't really enjoy metal in general. I DONT even want to argue about this, It's not something I have a real opinion on, or was even talking about. I just hated the way Diageo phrased something. It's a contradictory arguement, but it's just how I think. It's not winnable, nor..should it be (or am I trying to). It's not even an arguement. That's why it's "clear as mud" - I'm being pulled into a debate Chair started. The end. Dead. I'm not trying to convince of anything other than what R_A just posted. I should've just said that.

I mean - Someone saying, "I love Ke$ha and her music! So do millions of other people. Therefore she and her music are good." He doesn't even mean that, but his use of the word good just makes what he tries to say make no sense. Which I'm sure I've suffered from too as this pointless debate has gone on.
-
I just hate your terminology for things you like being the word "good". I've quite enjoyed lots of songs by Ke$ha, but I wouldn't consider them good. I like lots of songs by Katy Perry, but they aren't very good music. I think Get Sexy by The Sugababes is a musical abomination, but I've found myself enjoying the beat/bits of it in a club setting before. I liked it. Doesn't make it good. I fucking LOVE Miley Cyrus' last album - but it's nothing special or original or anything. That's how I see things. Anyway, we all have personal scales of what we consider good and bad music, and the debate of subjectivity versus objectivity always ends in contradiction so I'd rather not have to think about it/get into it.

Was she the one who was really confident and dressed like Madonna? (I can't watch it at uni, and am not truly bothered)

It's fine. At least you like Alien/s. That's my barometer of great these days.
-
Why not just say "so clearly people enjoy his voice"? :p Solves everything, and just is...the right..thing to say. I know "good" is subjective, that's why I took issue with it in the first place.

I'm going to send you to hell. A tryst with Mephistopheles will sort you out.

If I Remember Correctly I assume you were indicating you didn't know what that meant. --- Anyway. With the lack of write-up...I have NOTHING to contribute.

BITCH NAMOR WAS FIRST! :p (IIRC) Yeah, Namor predates Aquaman by a whole 2 years. Namor is in fact much better defined and used character than Aquaman, who of course is the butt of all those "Most useless superhero ever" jokes, like in Family Guy. Namor actually has a story and motivation.

Halle Berry is an underwhelming Storm, but I did like Cyclops, Wolverine et al. I liked Jean in the films, even if she felt slightly different in character than the comics. Rogue is completely different character in the films...as is Iceman...that's something; the X-men films generally got rid of the humour some of the characters famously have (like Rogue and Iceman) in favour of teen angst. But yeah, the third one is the only "bad" one. The other two are fine, and I really like X2, cause it feels most like the comic X-men.

You just worded it badly, so it meant something else.
-
Not at all. You wrote something completely different.

You didn't say that previously, you said he's clearly good because he sells records. Which is not a tru fact. I was just pointing out that record sales do not equal quality.

Irn Bru does taste a bit strange. Nice, but I never have it out of choice, really. You can feel the fizz rotting your teeth as you drink it. I never understood the naming of it...is it meant to be some sort of version of a scottish accent?
-
The two don't go hand in hand. To think they did is silly. Anyway. I haven't spent enough of my time listening to Justin Beiber to form a proper opinion, other than that his songs I have heard are neither entertaining, particularly catchy, witty, or otherwise possessing of a hook I'd be interested in. Ke$ha has an angle, I don't know what Justin Beiber has. Apart from a bad haircut. I have a feeling I'm not the market for Beiber though.

I'm not really a fan of guitar noodling, as I don't play it so don't feel I have a proper appreciation of it unless it's a "tune that appeals". This just sounded too much like noodling. It was fine, nothing wrong with it, just not for me. Too long without hooking me. ----

Was it a chav (or subcategory of)?

I'm scottish, and think they're bizzarely mediocre at best. But then I hate hearing the scottish accent on adverts. Unless it's a highland accent. Also I have no opinion on football.

I hate foam parties. I just realised I don't think I've ever written the word "foam" before. I felt all weird typing it.
