I feel shitty. Ok fine...Maddog was my key to life. I made a deal with Hades... *begins crying* ...and for SOME reason, It forged a Destiny Bond with Maddog/Tink. If she doesn't die before the start fo Day 7, I die instead. I hate my life. I'm reasonably useful to the town too/this is my favourite game for a while. I hope you're happy Smeagol! *lies down, letting the grass grow around his body* Don't make deals with evil gods.

The Dark Knight Rises (Spoilers inside, enter at own risk)

Yeah, it ties into my love of diversity within uniformity. The fact the Harry Potter cover "bars" at the top and bottom were all different colours, and the picture was different, yet the covers all felt homogenous. And I've mentioned how much I like Stephen King's books being all designed in the same way covers-wise (in the most recent editions anyway). On the topic of Batman AND our colour fetishes, I was admiring the 2009 rereleases of the 90's Batman films: I need them all. Yes. Uniform. Yet diverse. Yes. -

The tumbler reminds me of cumbersome though. I think they could implement a Batmobile that is more reminiscent of the the comic ones. Same visual as the tumbler, but perhaps more car-like. --- It might just be me, but I was thinking about how Batman Begins was "coloured" sepia, and The Dark Knight blue (in the marketing campaigns and merchandise etc, there's a prevalent colour in the design, and also in the visual aesthetic of the film itself). I wonder what colour Batman Rises will be? Hopefully not blue again like TDK. Red could be be stunning. -
Marcamilian targeted Mr-Paul last night, if that info is of any use to anybody.

I have a feeling with him being more "on the run"/even more of a vigilante (this time with the police on his tail), they won't give him the Tumbler again, probably a smaller Batmobile, more evocative of the comic designs (though less cartoony obviously). -
My favourite thing these days is to be raped aurally by Ke$ha and her partners in shit-music-making crime. Then getting really angry when shit people say they hate Laura Marling or think Radiohead are boring.

Batman is one of the best comics to just buy random graphic novels of, as he's got a lot of "out of continuity" stories. The generally recommended ones are: Batman: Long Hallowe'en The Dark Knight Returns Batman: Year One (heavily influenced elements of Batman Begins) Arkham Asylum All very different to what you might expect from a "comic hero". People might recommend Batman: Hush too, and it might be appealing to a new reader - it has like...all the villains. Re: The white eyes - Batman has white eyes in his costume, but this looks a bit weird on film/doesn't really work well - so it was nice to see it done reasonably. -

I loved the inclusion of the white eyes (visually). It'd be cool if that's just a standard part of his costume he can use whenever in the next film. (not all the time, but occasionally) It reminds me of Catwoman's costume in the 90's (which had green lenses that could be retracted, but allowed her to see in the dark and stuff, but weren't fucking power level scanners or anything too great). -

Also just to point out that Batman Begins and The Dark Knight have their fair share of gadgets, the Batmobiles/Tumblers, that whited out eye server matrix shizz in TDK, the Bat Sonar thing in his shoe etc etc. But yes, fair's fair. -
ReZ, you can come work for me. I'll pay you £3 a day to do things for me and generally assist my life.

Batman Returns is my favourite Batman film too Monkey, by far. One of my favourite movies ever. But it's not a very good example, as the villains had no powers either. I love the stylised version of Batman present in the Burton Batman films, and I even have an appreciation for the stylistic jokes Schumacher tried to tell in the latter two of that series. I also appreciate the Nolan ones for being good films all-round, and TDK for bringing Batman out of the world of claustrophobic, dry-ice filled world of sets and neon lighting. (All the whle appreciating the earlier films for doing very that) It's just different styles. You can appreciate both for BOTH being true to the rich and varied source material in different ways. But yeah, Batman Returns ftw. Michelle Pfieffer and Danny DeVito's performances in that are two of my favourite screen performances. Love them. Everyone is good in it actually. Face to Face by Siouxsie and the Banshees in the background. <3 -

...Why? Why are you generalising, putting Batman in with the other "superheroes"? Why isn't Nolan's vision suitable? Batman's one of the few "semi-believable" comic book characters, a lot of his stories involve "normal" crimes, or psycopaths rather than superpowered villains. What would be the benefit of including Killer Croc or Etrigan The Demon? Nolan's Batman films are the first fully realised, credible "superhero" films in years, probably because they aren't "superhero" films. TDK is incredibly interesting in that it kinda put Batman up there with "proper films" in terms of critical acclaim, tone and content. It broke out of the generalisation of "superhero film". -

Here's an Anne Geddes picture in celebration. God her photos are awful. Anyway. Am I right in thinking you pronounce Oison as "Oh-Sheen"? -

I think future Batman films should just deal with the origin in the same manner as the 90's films - brief flashbacks, often simply included for clarity if people have lived under a rock and didn't know who Batman was. -
Neither did I, but I derived enjoyment.

Is the joke that they're two different car makes?

This could be great. I need the film to evoke this visual style and then I can rest in peace and be gone.

For all you know she might have told him she never wanted a grand proposal. We don't know these people.

Last time the previous, acclaimed Bat-director left but took on an advisory role, Batman Forever happened. I'd rather they just ended Nolan's films at 3. So then when the inevitable next Batman film can just start, and have the feel/setting of these films if it wants, or not. Batman is a great archetypal figure that can fit almost any mood or tone, so it's up to the director. Now that Nolan has established a "serious" Batman universe, someone who helms a later Batman film can take some of this seriousness (which is currently the public conciousness' perception of Batman), and use the more unrealistic villains like Poison Ivy or Clayface without fear of tarnishing the Nolanverse. -
I can't bear soaps - especially ones like Coronation St and Eastenders (among others) that just portray the lives of other peope in roughly your own position, only more depressingly and in constant shades of beige. At least Neighbours has a sense of exoticism to it. I used to like that when I was younger.
