  1. Any news about a PAL release date? I am actually VERY concerned that we might actually miss this great game...
  2. I wonder when and if we are going to hear anything about a PAL release. Namco please localize this to Europe along with Tales of Symphonia 2!
  3. I can add something to your question. Is there any reason we don't have the first-party N64 game Mario Golf 64 yet?
  4. The problem with N64 releases is that there are only a few remaining first party games. -Zelda:Majora's Mask -Super Smash Bros -Pilotwings 64 -Excitebike 64 -Donkey Kong 64 -Mario Tennis 64 and the Mario Partys. As I don't think that we'll see any 3d party N64 games ,it is safe to assume that for the next 2-3 years(according to Wii's lifespan) the N64 releases will be very sporadic.
  5. I think that I am not the only one to see the opportunity to expand the Excite franchise.I imagine the next Excite game to actually combine trucks and bikes (Excitetruck+Excitebike) in an arcade racer a la Motorstorm but with more excitement in it!
  6. Any news about a European release date?
  7. I just bought it... In a few words the game is awesome! It's a class above CoD3.The graphics are marvelous with great lighting and stable 30fps.The stages are very big and epic and the overall package is very good.I played 2-3 online matches and I can confirm that there is absolutely no lag and the options are very detailed. All in all very very good game and for every FPS fan this is an instant buy. My only gripe at the moment is the gigantic save file:63 non copiable blocks! Feel free to ask me anything you want. See you later!
  8. Certainly not annoying. I found that the most precise cursor in a Wii videogame was in Trauma Center and certainly this time in Disaster the cursor is not so precise. But I have played recently HotD2+3 for Wii and I think that the cursor behaves very similar to Disaster. All in all,I never had a problem with the cursor in Disaster.
  9. OK!No problem! The worst things in my opinion are: -When you rescue the citizens, after the rescue all the dialog appears in text. With the amount of voice acting in this game it seems a strange choice to not record a few lines more in the rescue missions. It is very minor but for me at least reduces the immersion. -The camera while very good will hit some spots that can't exactly follow your character. This happens very rare in the game but the problem is there. -The platform elements are not perfect. In a stage, you can actually climb a track in order to continue the story but several minutes later when you see another same track the game does not let you to climb it. Also,I found a little hard to jump with accuracy in certain stages of the game. Well, these are the worst things I can think on the moment. But in my opinion are few and nothing major. This is the reason I gave this game 8.5-9/10. It seems that they could not afford another 2-3 months of ironing these things and decided to release it.
  10. (Aenae I sent you a PM ! ) Today I finished the game.It took me around 12 hours in Normal mode but without maximizing all the stats. The final boss fight is exceptional and reminds a certain little game that's called Metal Gear Solid.Actually you must see it in order to understand.Epic stuff! Another good news is that while the story concluded with no holes, there is an unlockable ending video that hints to a sequel.Very good news indeed because the game deserves so much a sequel!!! I would like to say that my girlfriend who doesn't like action videogames(the last and the only game that she adored and loved it was RE4) when she saw it,after the first 2 stages she grabbed from me the Wiimote and started playing. Finally she asked me to buy another copy for her! My final word:Buy it!!!
  11. It's my pleasure pals! I think that this game is a must-have for all the hungry hardcore gamers! After Monolith's Softaware recent interview I really want to see Disaster expanded into a franchise with more sequels to come. It's that good!
  12. I have bought the game early(here in Greece is already available in certain stores) and my first impressions are definite positives. Let's start my impressions. The game is a very high production game. There is voice acting, even more cutscenes and a lot of different stages around different locations all rendered very well. The graphics are actually very good.In some stages you are in a whole town where you can see all the physical catastrophes. You see collapsing buildings, even scycrappers, tsunamies, earthquakes and volcano lava. All represented highly accurate and with good physics.I would say that the real protagonist of the game is the physical catastrophes. The gameplay itself is a hybrid between action/adventure/rpg. A typical stage is something like that. -Wandering around, saving people(with actually very cool mini-games) and even solving puzzles. -Combat.First person and also on rails but not as much as you imagine. There are a pre-set number on enemies you must eliminate and after that the camera is moving. What is actually very helpfull and innovative is the focus mode during combat.By holding down the C button you can zoom in the enemy and any shot during focus mode deals double damage.Of course the focus effect can last only 5 seconds before the focus bar being replenished. Finally,at any time during combat,by holding Z button you can take cover. All in all,the combat is very satisfying and it reminds me a lot of Winback. -Driving.During some events you must drive a car in order to escape. The camera shifts inside the car (think Project Gotham) and you drive the car by holding the wiimote horizontally just like Mario Kart or Excitetruck. These events are VERY impressive graphically as you drive while all the scenery is transforming from the natural disasters. There are a few frame rate drops but nothing major or game breaking. -Boss fights. This came to me as a big surprise.Every boss fight is not only very interesting but also very original.I cannot tell any more because some people don't want spoilers. But I assure you that the boss fights are excellent. Finally I would like to make a few comments about Monolith software. They are heavily expertised in RPGs and this is apparent on this game. The story contains much much depth,a lot of cut scenes and is told with an excellent way.Kudos to them! Also they have implemented some RPG elements in the game. You can upgrade your character's statistics such as Power,Firearm,Focus,Metabolism and strenght.By completing one stage you earn some SP points which you can use to level up. You obtain also Bullet points which you use to upgrade your weapons and even buy new ones.Think something similar to RE4. The weapons available are some handguns, assault riffles, shotguns, crossbows and even rocket launchers. The most funny 'weapon' is that you can also use some trash to shoot the enemies like stones, cans and even teddy bears! The story is a typical action movie film with high production values but of course this is not in the MGS level. The story actually reminded me 'The Rock' a lot! I have not finished the game yet as I am taking my time trying to upgrade my weapons and my character so if you intend to complete this game 100% you are for a long ride. Luckilly the game itself has the option to replay every completed level as many time you wish in order to gain more points to customize. The game supports 480p and widescreen. I hope that I covered a lot about the game. Don't hesitate and buy it.It's a solid 8.5-9/10 game and I would recomended to everyone .It's a shame if this game bombs while some others sell like crazy. Feel free to ask me anything about the game.
  13. I would kill for your save file! Congratulations!!!
  14. Here are my predictions. -First of all,I hope that the new DS announcement does not monopolize the conference. We know that is coming already,we want to hear more about new Wii titles! -Finally a storage solution.I prefer an external HDD with add-on content for SSBB and Mario Kart. Also the announcement that in the VC line-up they add CD-based systems like Sega-CD and Saturn. -Pikmin 3. -The new kirby Wii game that seems to be in development forever. - A new Donkey Kong Wii from EAD Tokyo. -A new Mario Party with online of course. -Some major first-party game like Kid Icarus Wii or Starfox Wii. -Some major third-party game announcenent.Last year it was Monster Hunter 3,this year I expect something from Square(maybe KH3). I don't think that is possible a RE5 or RE2 Remake announcement this time of the year.Capcom cares about money and it is extremmely unlikely to announce RE5 before they release it on HD systems or a RE2 Remake as it will affect their projected sales from REmake Wii in December. The time is coming...3 days left.
  15. I am trying this challenge one whole day without success. Can you help me or at least give a hint?
  16. I am a big Nintendo fan for over 20 years, but I couldn't keep myself for laughing by reading TC's post. Anyway,if we must in this thread confess our fantasies and pipe dreams then here's mine. -First of all, I wait a storage solution FINALLY!And I hope that this solution requires some sort of physical medium and not some crappy online storage option. -From 1st party I hope for some secont tier IP announcements like F-Zero Wii,Starfox,Kirby,Donkey Kong and Yoshi's Island. We all know pretty much that the next Zelda and Mario are in the works.Let's have room for other franchises. -Finally,3d party announcements are the most important for Wii,as this is clearly the Wii's weak spot.I would like to see the announcement of RE5,something BIG from Square, and a Metal Gear trilogy from Konami.)
  17. This is weird.I find myself wanting this game to be published by Nintendo as Nintendo desperately needs a new FPS IP in their portfolio. But on the other hand,I think that this game is more suitable to a 3d party because Nintendo doesn't know or care about how to market a game of this type (Geist, anyone?) and this will hypothetically affect the sales.
  18. -Sam and Max Season On3 -Wario Land Shake -Call Of Duty World at War -Sonic Unleashed -Animal Crossing Wii -Disaster Day of Crysis -Tomb Raider Underworld and for 2008 -The Conduit -MadWorld -HotD Overkill -Sonic and the BK -Fragile -ToS 2 -Wii Sports Resort and many others that I can't remember right now!
  19. For everyone who plans to watch this year's E3 Nintendo Conferance, let's try to calculate the exact time in our different european timezones.
  20. According to IGN the Press Conferance begins at 9.30 a.m on Tuesday July 15.We can post here all the news , pre-E3 gossips and wishlist. Also,I want this thread to be informative for European time zones for the press conferance. According to IGN,the event starts at 9.30 a.m on Tuesday July 15.' Can anyone calculate the time zones according to various european countries including my country Greece? Well, let the show begins!
  21. Sorry to bump an old thread but I found this interview very interesting. http://gonintendo.com/?p=45617 Again,if the publisher decides, then dedicated developers can do wonders. Also, our old discussion about how the CoD4 engine is possible for Wii has ended with the obvious answer.
  22. For one more time,it is proven that publisher's atittude is pathetic towards Wii. But,I would blame Nintendo also. It's Nintendo that allows all this shovelware from Ubisoft and other 3d parties on the Wii. If Reggie has the guts he must call Ubi and demand PoP,BG&E2 and high profie titles for Wii in order to give permission for their pathetic shovelware. I really miss Yamauchi nowadays.Anyone remember how he pressured Square for FF:CC for Gamecube? That's the spirit. Publishers think that Wii owners are morons. No matter what crap they release,we'll keep buying it and our money will give them the profits to develop high profile games for the other consoles! Shame!
  23. Dear Ubi, If you had announced the new Prince of Persia and BG&E2 for Wii,you would have my wallet. Now,you dont take anything.
  24. Shame on Ubi!!! And it's pitty that the sequel to a commercial flop won't come to the console where the first game sold better than the ps2/xbox versions combined! Again, shame on Ubi!!!
  25. We may discuss for ages analyzing all the reasons but in the end,as I have stated before, publisher's atittude is the problem. The funny thing is that in a year from now, when Wii's installed base is bigger than 360/PS3's combined we'll probably see a change. The same publishers who now backlash Wii will start to talk enthustiatically for the same hardware. And this is business.
