  1. I was expecting the Final Smashes would be more like...smashes.
  2. No. No no no no no. This doesn't compare to Zelda or Mario Sunshine. This game hasn't been hyped for the last 3 years as the second coming of the most highly rated game ever or the sequel to the game that defined 3D gaming forever. This game needs hype because it's a MAJOR Nintendo release, it needs to sell because it will be an awesome game. I agree that being understated is better than being overstated but this is just a marketing issue. The game's gonna be a masterpeice, why the heck isn't Nintendo telling us about it?
  3. Uh...the gun is basically a Wii remote.
  4. What annoys me is people don't realise we won't have lightguns ever again. Lightguns do not work with LCD or Plasma displays, they ONLY work with CRTs.
  5. ...who needs a Wii to play homebrew? In case no one's noticed, homebrew is alive and kicking on PC, and there are PC drivers for the Wii remote. You could make whatever the heck you wanted with the controller on PC for a open and well documented system instead of a closed system with no available documentation. Why does the software HAVE to run on Wii?
  6. Reggie's more fun to watch when he's kicking ass. But he doesn't need to do that anymore, they're not the underdog so he doesn't need the bolster Nintendo fans morale.
  7. I take it you never actually played an old 2D Sonic game. Sonic takes 2 seconds just to get to Mario's walking speed.
  8. Tools? More like Air strikes!
  9. Nintendo have two realistic racing franchises, Wave Race and 1080. They also have F-Zero, Excitebike/Truck and Mariokart. They just don't do track racing.
  10. I'd much rather play remakes that play like RE4: Wii Edition than RE5 anyway. I just can't go back to thumbsticks and you can't make me!
  11. Durr, they'll do Spaceworld again just like they did last year. It's just called "Nintendo World" now.
  12. Bullshit, "hardcore" gamers play games like God of War. A game custom made for lobotomy patients, it requires no thought whatsoever. At least pretending to have a sword will be a lot more fun than mashing buttons for 10 hours.
  13. Yeah, Nintendo spent millions designing their chips and it was only after they were finished they realised "Oh shit, we can't do HD". Lol, who the fuck are you kidding?
  14. God of War and Devil May Cry are overrated, button-mashing dogshit for players too stupid for anything more sophisticated.
  15. Fighters have approximately 4 million more inputs a minute than any FPS or racing game. In an FPS you can get away with 115ms lag for firing a gun, but with a 24 hit combo? Hell no.
  16. A bit like saying Gran Turismo has nothing on Mario Kart, but oh well.
  17. There was a GC game, it was pretty cool. Nothiong on a Wii game, but it's early days yet.
  18. Link's sheild's usefulness goes up by several orders of magnitude when items are turned on because he can block most projectiles and all thrown weapons with it. He's a much more formidable character with items on than with them off.
  19. Chances are Zero Samus is just normal Samus but lighter and weaker, otherwise it wouldn't be a penalty for such a gigantic attack. People who play without items all the time are boring faggots anyway. Items are half the friggin balance, Link and Ness for example have good defenses against them that don't work against regular attacks.
  20. The game wasn't fun and looked like ass, get over it.
  21. A Wii with a new GPU that just renders in HD is really quite possible in a couple of years.
  22. BOL. Your entire summer was based around playing Wii during a drought of games? Jesus Christ, GO OUTSIDE.
  23. The bigger environments seems to purely refer to larger draw distances with nice vistas, not gigantic feilds Samus can run around in (which would be pretty naff). There's no reason why it couldn't work as a modified engine, but there's no reason why it would either. Zelda and Metroid are entirely different, with the amount of work that would go into modifying the engine they might aswell come up with a new one. We have no idea what the next Zelda will be like anyway, what if it requires the same kind of engine as Wind Waker? The Prime 3 engine wouldn't be remotely suited to that.
  24. Metroid doesn't have large environments. Incase you haven't noticed, both Metroid Primes were a series of pretty small rooms. Zelda, on the other hand, has Hyrule field. What would an engine change accomplish? The Prime 3 engine isn't doing anything the Twilight Princess engine didn't. It's the basic polygon/texture stuff with BLOOM LIGHTING. Heck, unless I see some water effects going on you could actually assume the TP engine is the more feature-rich. Graphics wouldn't really be affected either as it's all entirely down to artwork.
  25. An engine designed for one game being used for an entirely different kind of game with entirely different technical requirements and a Zelda game with the camera of a third person tactical shooter. What the f*ck are you smoking? Not that a Metroid engine couldn't be modified to run Zelda, but why would you? What's so special about the Metroid engine?
