  1. There has to be a space between two inclines. I hate it. So many things I've planned have been ruined because of some stupid, arbitrary limitations Bells wasted, time wasted, plan wasted. Time travel to speed up demolitions/moves/construction gets more and more enticing...
  2. Started playing this again yesterday. After a total playtime of 72 hours I've slain the Spire with all four characters. Took me 28 runs with The Watcher to beat the heart with her. In all my losing runs I underestimated the negative effect of Wrath Stance. Still have 10 achievements to go and lots of Ascensions to conquer. Said it many times, but I'll say it again: this is my favourite game ever. It's taken down Rayman Legends from the top spot. Slay the Spire Rayman Legends Super Mario World I've followed One Step From Eden in the last two weeks and it may become a serious contender for one of the three spots. I played the demo on PC and it was amazing. Right now I'm waiting for the current balance patch to arrive on Switch. Once It's there I'll buy it. Roguelite deck-building games are my jam
  3. People already complaining that these games have been on PS+. Stupid people never fail to amuse me.
  4. You can't create waterfalls on a diagonal cliff. There goes my terraforming plan. There are way too many restrictions in this game...
  5. Played Membrane for a while. Neat idea that falls flat about halfway through the game. As soon as you have to shoot that green ball in order to get it anywhere it's too finicky to set up your solution to the puzzle. It gets very annoying very quickly. The controls are also not precise enough which doesn't help in later puzzles. I think I've gotten through 75% of Membrane when I decided to stop because the enjoyment went away completely Paid 1€ for it during a sale and I liked it for a while so no biggie. Not going on my list for this year, though. Been playing Monster Hunter World cooperatively (and Iceborne solo) these past few evenings. Playing through the vanilla game with a mate is awesome. The expansion, however, hasn't been too great, to be honest. Monsters have way too much HP. Battles become tedious after a while. I would assume that with stronger weapons fights last a little less long but to get there you have to...fight monsters. I've read that the Iceborne community has been saying the same since the expansion's release...bit of a bummer. I'm very interested in One Step From Eden. I'll most likely get it this week or the next. For the time being I've decided to get back to Slay the Spire. My goal right now is to beat the true boss with the fourth character. One more thing: I've gotten back to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The release of its Battle Royale mode got me (and some gaming friends) hooked again.
  6. Yeah, I was just trying to lighten up the mood. Didn't work
  7. More like 95%, considering crafting stuff takes ages
  8. Just finished the DLC, as well. More of the same. Which is awesome when the base game is perfect You'd think I was in trouble during that fight given the video I've posted above. But noooooo. Made it first try. Sometimes I can't get through a door in time, sometimes I wreck difficult parts with no hassle at all.
  9. Just gonna leave this here:
  10. There is one in the game. Takes some time to get it, though, it seems.
  11. 103. I have 9 million bells in the bank. Not sure if I'll dabble with turnips this week.
  12. 30 seconds after officially starting my terraforming adventure I made this: Edit: Oh no, there's a typo. It's ruined
  13. Nintendo have finally put good old "fomo" into one of their main games. It's blatantly obvious with the way the Bunny Day event is designed. Kind of sad to see, to be honest.
  14. I did the thing! Finished The Messenger. Such a special game...ok ok, I'll stop. It is an easy 10/10. In my eyes, it's the perfect game. Tight controls, awesome 2D-action-platforming, banger music, beautiful graphics, hilarious from start to finish and just a joy to play. An impeccable blend of linear level/room design (especially in the first third of the game) mixed with some of the best Metroidvanian gameplay I've experienced in my 25 years of video gaming.. Bonus points for giving us the option to acquire hints to let us know where to go. The worlds aren't particularly large which makes for a much more streamlined journey. Way more enjoyable than the likes of Super Metroid (one of the worst games in history...yes, I'm serious ). I lack the vocabulary to give the platforming/action/controls the praise it deserves. It's perfect. Easily the best game I've played this year and one of the best ever. And now it's time to play the DLC. Hope it's just more of the same
  15. It's the isolation. Quite a special situation that ruins my thinking thingies in my brainium.
  16. So...was the game something special?
  17. Remember...if everything fails you can always time travel. YES, THAT'S NOT HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME, yadayadayada. But if you can't be bothered to do all fishing today but don't want to wait three months for another contest...the option's there
  18. The fishing contest highlights a lot of issues Nintendo needs to fix...
  19. Started planning my island with the Happy Island Designer. Here's a first rough outline: I will most likely rearrange everything in the lower left corner. I'll start with my mountain of glory first. Definitely need to fit in a river somehow.
  20. Oh, I will still go for 100% if a game is worth it. The Messenger definitely fits the bill. The collectibles so far were a joy to get. The platforming is incredible. Reached the twist and it turned into a Metroidvania game. Pretty nifty Whenever I reached a door to the shop I entered just to see if there was new banter to read through. I burst out laughing quite a few times Will get back to it later tonight
  21. Yeah, it's pretty great. Noticed an error on my part. It's not a roguelite. It's just a deckbuilding RPG. Guess Slay the Spire slipped into my mind. For whatever reason.
  22. Bought it this morning. Played it for about an hour. I love it. Spot on platforming action. Tight controls, sweet retro graphics and the music...oooohhhh that music. The writing is bloody hilarious. And this happened:
  23. SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech complete! A short and sweet deck-building RPG. Two things stopped it from being awesome in my opinion: It's too easy. Most of the final 3 chapters' bosses are uninspired, to say the least. Enjoyed my time with it, though That makes 20 games finished in 2020 so far. Not bad. I completed 8 of them in the last 4 weeks. I wonder if the pandemic has anything to do with this higher than usual number. What to play next... Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is now my "in between game". Thinking about getting The Messenger. I could get the Switch version for 7€. Seems like a great deal. But then there's One Step From Eden. I've been following this game for quite a while and it seems right up my alley. Decisions, decisions... Edit: What the hell? Mods/admins, feel free to delete 2 of those 3 posts Edit²: I hid them. Not sure if that actually deleted them.
