Couple of things I noticed throughout playing: If you shoot an arrow say for example in Hyrule field and it hits the ground, you can walk up to it and collect it. Nice touch. Pressing the minus button during cutscenes will let you skip them, again nice touch.

I agree. I also agree. I was expecting an Arbiter's Grounds type stage but then it went into the forest temple again? Granted it was a cool mini boss fight but it wrecks the style of the fight. Why no Temply of time type stage for Zant? Why no City in the sky type stage? Cool boss fight but way too easy, once again. 2 hits on each stage and that's it. Another inconsistency: dungeon difficulties/size

LOL right I've given up on you knowing anything about Zelda because of those two paragraphs you just wrote. 1. IT IS THE TEMPLE OF TIME IN WW. Where do you think you pull the Master Sword out from? 2. The last two temples aren't actually temples? So why did both the game and characters in the game call them the "EARTH TEMPLE" and the "WIND TEMPLE"? 3. I've probably played more Zelda than you mate, of course I've played and won TP. It's the 3D Zelda that's lacking in depth the most. There's nothing to do in the entire game apart from cheap thrills like fishing, poe hunting and erm... bug collecting. 4. First of all I never said I don't like TP. I love it. But even if I didn't like, you think that doen't make me a 'true' Nintendo fan? LMAO. That's hilarious. Because as a true nintendo fan you're supposed to love everything about everything Ninty ever makes. Give me a break. The list of things to do in TP must be easily 4 times less than WW or MM. TP lacks soul, as the majority of people on these boards have agreed. WW felt magic. TP feels empty, hollow and unimportant. Not to mention poorly planned out. Rafting adds, what, 15 minutes? Fishing? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Rollgoal? Fun for 20 minutes. Apart from that, nothing much else.

I'm not sure whether I'd prefer WW style visuals for Zelda Wii or 'realistic' ones... I LOVE the former, but then the world seemed more real with the latter obviously.

"lackingindepthandmagicbutotherwiseprettycool" It's a word!
-
No one word would be lackingindepthandmagicbutotherwiseprettycool. You can say a lot of things about TP, but inconsistent? As in?
-
There was the temple of time in WW, are you sure you played it? 70 hours?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. As said above, this is the 3D Zelda with the LEAST depth to it. There's nothing to do!

Could that review of A Link to the Past be any more biased? What a fucking wanker. "everything after ALLTP are just cheap knock offs" "A Link to the past is the only true Zelda game" "ALLP sequals are all rubbish". Knob. -

Bloody hell those graphics do look amazing. -
You should join in the Wii TP discussion thread, we'd have a lot to agree on.

How minor the changes? Zora's domain frozen Hyrule Castle town a wasteland Goron moutain: revived dragon Kakariko attacked by shadow creature + fires Basically, Ganon ruled Hyrule. Whereas in TP... Ganon ruled all of... erm, Hyrule Castle. As I said above. He ruled Hyrule. As opposed to TP's Ganon who was sitting on his arse doing nothing (with us lot not even KNOWING what he wanted). The story behind TP with the Twilight/Twilight princess etc was a good one. The execution was poor in the second half of the game in my opinion. OOT felt infinitely like a more epic quest to me.

Ok having watched the ending one last time I've changed my mind, Link LEAVING Ordon makes it a slightly happier one I suppose. But jesus as well done as that Midna/Zelda/Link scene was, it was sad as hell!
-
Thanks Lens, no worries that was probably a stupid comment about him abandoning Ordon. Shino, actually no I want a well portrayed Link. They did good in TP, but he still pretty vacuous at times as Lens said.
-
Abandoning his responsibilities to his former "quaint" village?

Didn't recognise you with your new avatar. Interesting theory but you're forgetting about A Link to the Past/LOZ/AOL etc... Why can't TP take place in the WW timeline? I found that apart from that scene with Midna and Zelda, there was nothing else in the ending apart from panning shots of Hyrule and Link returning home. The latter was very nice combined with the music though.
-
I hope you're kidding lol you call THAT a reference?? If we hadn't been told it was before WW, after OOT, yup, could have been anywhere.
-
-
God I can't imagine what you thought of TP's ending then! LOL
-
"Listen!!"
-
True. Ok, stupid idea.
-
Would have been cool if Navi had been in the Temple of Time dungeon in TP (for some odd reason)
-
Just making a point that I quite like the OOT ending as well. Since this thread I think should now be considered a 'Legend of Zelda' topic as opposed to just a TP one?
-
Great final battle, nice ending, nice settings, amazing music but still I don't think it's a patch on OOT's. I found TP's rather short, empty and lacking any real character with the exception of the last scene where Link rides away. Still, WAAAY better than WW's and even MM's! (note the music/action might not be synchronised properly) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJtLyiM4jmc

A very nice tune I think:
