Exactly. Think how much worse it would have been without that extra year. Sorry? What do you mean

Dante: Unfortunately for your argument, Ocarina of Time is almost 10 years old and was the first 3D zelda. Kakariko has far more than 10 people but not sure how that's an argument, TP's Kakariko had 2 people!!! before the arrival of the kids! The ending to OoT has been called the best Zelda ending ever by pretty much every Zelda fan, TP's one is nothing compared to it. And you need to do far more in OoT Kakariko than TP one. The story line couldn't be any more different than A Link to the Past, so not sure where you got that from. What pathetic arguments.

True, WW was very rushed as well, but it at least had an air-tight story, lots of sidequests, that magic feel and cool temples. AND it was in production for literaly half the time that TP was. Imagine if TP WASN'T delayed a year!! Trust me, I loved the first half of TP. The second was such a disappointment though. Travel time between dungeons is about 10 minutes, the dungeons themselves can be finished in about 30 minutes... I like your sig pic Zero.

Nope, never been a bad Zelda game, I've never said there has been. What I was saying is that there are far too many flaws for a Zelda game that's been heralded as the greatest game of all time. Especially since it's been in development for 3-4 years. I just can't see how in all that time, they managed to make the whole second half of the game feel rushed.

I'm a Zelda fanboy, I just don't have a problem with criticising clearly sub-par Zelda games. ...Good one.

I completely respect your opinion and if you think that then fair enough but forgive me for laughing my arse off at that statement. The story's the weakest of any Zelda and seems to have been made up as the developers went along. As has been said many times on this thread by many people there isn't any magic to the game (and I don't mean physical magic). The music is pants. There are hardly any sidequests. The dungeons are small and cold. It's easy. The difficulty curve seems to be going the wrong way in that later dungeons are tiny and easier than the first set. Kakariko is a joke. The ending isn't all that special... blah blah blah... Of course I can find just as many if not more GOOD things to say about the game but the fact that there are so many negatives (in my opinion) can't be good.

Ok if you can't get your head round that explanation it's illustrated in the last part of the Zelda retrospective on gametrailers.com. Basically after Ocarina of Time, it splits into two timelines. One where Link goes back to when he was a kid and one where the future world continues (without Link). TP takes place in the latter. Majora's Mask is next in the former (as Link was a child in that).

For the love of god get over it. TP is FAR from perfect but there's been just as much talk about the positive aspects. Not that many to be fair.

Mario Kart DS better than SMK? Surely not. -

What I find funny is that the negative aspects of the game he lists I disagree with, yet I think he's missed a hell of a lot more wrong with the game if that makes sense. If you get bored that easy, I wouldn't be looking forward to the second part of TP if I were you. -
Exactly! That seriously bugged me especially in the Sky Temple where it was at it's worst I found.

She was a bit dull but I did like her in 'that' scene before dungeon 4. On a completely separate note, I really loved the secret skill bits. Pretty cool music, a good character and a nice master/apprentice dynamic (which could have been explored more I feel). Imagine having a quick flashback to his words about the helm splitter before you had to face a dark nut for the first time for instance. Otherwise he could have appeared in the final dungeon etc...

Sadness!!!

I've been saying that for weeks! Or... it's getting more and more full with fans who are realising that this game is below the usual standard of Zelda games?
-
Yes I was expecting 70 hours as well. 30 is disappointing, as I've said, it's deceptive how big/small it is.
-
The C-Stick to move the camera was sorely missed this time around I feel. It was so handy in the Wind Waker and so easily implemented.
-
You would't think so playing TP. There's no sense of danger in the whole game. If Link sat on his arse in Hyrule field for 5 years, no doubt

Edit the f*cking post before someone reads those spoilers (like the person who started the topic wanting to AVOID spoilers)

You can. Press the home button and look down.

Surprised to hear that some people don't like the wii-remote controls. I thought they were excellent. Aiming is fantastic and even slashing your sword wasn't as annoying as I thought it would be. The shield blows are excellent as is spinning the nunchuk to do a spin attack (by the way, who misses the awesome spin attacks where you charged it up and released a BIG energy wave? The one in TP is pretty crap) The only niggle is attacking as a wolf but then I press 'A' to attack as a wolf every time. I don't 'hate' the music, I just think it's rubbish and forgetful, un-epic, and not a patch on the tunes of the previous 3 console Zeldas.
-
The 'ending' feels rushed? I think the whole second half of the game feels rushed! But fair enough, I suppose the ending especially. Kokiri are never mentioned at all.
-
How can you say good music has only a subtle effect on a game? The music in TP was rubbish, simple as that. There were a few good tunes here and there but everything else was completely forgetful and devoid of any drama or life.

Those were good bits, funnily enough mostly in the beginning section of the game which just shows how the quality goes downhill after the first 4 dungeons. Very surprised you didn't like most of the bits I said about Ocarina.

Just because a game is bigger and longer doesn't mean it's automatically more epic. I found Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker infinately more epic than TP. The stories of those two were better, there was more a sense of inpending doom which I'm sorry was COMPLETELY absent from this game. I find the idea that TP is better than Ocarina very odd indeed. Remember what it was like stepping out of the temple of time for the first time after the 7 year period? Remember the ocarina tunes, running into Sheik, the bottom of the well? Using din's fire for the first time? Taking the master sword out for the first time? Running into phantom ganon? Sneaking around the Gerudo fortress (with that amazing music), being led through the desert by the poe? Having to do the Spirit temple both as a child and an adult? Escaping Lon Lon ranch with epona? Seeing ganon's castle for the first time and watching the spirits create a bridge to get there? Being on the galleon in the Shadow Temple? All amazing, special moments (and I could go on for a long time). I'm struggling to find more than 2 or 3 similar moments that are as special in TP.
