That's good! Anything that'll make it feel more Zelda-like is good! I'm sick of always fighting the same bad guys.
-
Keep playing, you'll see what we mean after 5-10-15 hours...
-
That image just makes me want a black wii more...

Yes the variations (or lack thereof) on enemies is disappointing So I'm just about to enter the 7th dungeon. How far am I through the game for those who have finished it? 80%? 90? I'm talking main quest here...
-
Right I'm off to play it! Trying to prolong it a bit before heading to the 7th temple so will do some side-questing. I have to say I think there was more sidequesting to be done in Wind Waker. MUCH more. Or maybe I just haven't discovered all the stuff to do.

Surely you can't say it's better than OoT having played only a few hours? Wait till you get further in and see if you still prefer it. I was like you once

OoT was grounbreaking. It brought Zelda into 3D, had an epic quest, fantastic music, great graphics at the time, an awesome storyline and a real interesting concept in the past/future timelines. It revolutionised not only Zelda, but 3D RPGs in general, and made jaws drop with every cut scene. Obviously if Twilight Princess was released in 1998 instead of OoT (with graphics of the time) it would have been just as incredible, if not more so. As it is however, TP seems to be lacking that special touch, something that makes it groundbreaking in it's own right. That combined with niggles and small disappointments here and there throughout the game + hype the likes of which the gaming world hasn't seen often has made sure that the game will never be as heralded as OoT.

Loving Midinia enough to get her name right though? Glad to you liked the ending lazyboy
-
Still, as a GAME, in relation to all other video games, it's still worth a 10/10 so far. But in relation to other Zelda's, definately 9 or even... 8.8.

Seems to me I'm in the same boat as you Sam. Bit disappointed in the game, definately lacking the magic that was present in OoT, MM and WW. Not as epic as it should have been, many small things that are bugging me throughout. I'm only at dungeon 7 though. So far I've had one person say the ending was excellent, one person saying that it was rubbish and you saying it was ok. Any more comments on it? Without any spoilers though please.

I agree the music in this game is very forgetful. Big disappointment there were no OoT style songs or tunes. Kakariko village is about the only good tune in there. Oh and the Serenade of Water bits (but those were from OoT anyway!) Agree Link needs a sense of humour. Zelda needs more character agree. -
Oh dear. That bad McMad? No spoilers please
-
No idea what the cave of ordeals is so I'm going to forget I read that.

LOL, hadn't realised that. Very cool. It'd be nice if TP had a bank sort of thing, where we can deposit money when our wallets are maxed out. As long as in-game elements don't rely on us only being able to have a certain amount of rupees at a certain part in the game.

Saw it last night but stopped playing. Agree it wasn't how I thought it would be either. Having realised that the only real 'temple' in the game is the forest one, they should have changed the name of that to Forest Sanctuary, or Forest something-or-other to keep a running theme throughout the game. Also to make sure it doesn't get confused with the Forest Temple from OoT. -
Also I sort of miss the little comments that they had in Wind Waker: "You got 5 rupees, not too shabby" etc... they made me chuckle

Count backwards from it. 4. -
God yes. It gets very annoying quickly. Not sure what the developers were on when they included that bit.

Bosses are definately excellent in this game. They're all fantastic if a bit too easy for the most part. Number 6 is shockingly easy it's a shame cause it was a very cool concept. The fourth boss is amazing. Yet to see the 7th but heard it's one of the best.
-
Ah ok, no I just got to the 7th dungeon so it's fine. The scene were 'something happens to Midna' is brilliant I very much agree. THAT was urgency, fantastic stuff. Shame they didn't keep that feeling going throughout. In my opinion of course. Another small thing I really loved was:

What are your spoilers like up near the top of this page pedro? Are they about what's in the final dungeon? If so I don't want to know!
-
The 3rd Children: Ok thanks for your review. Glad to hear your positive comments on the ending. Can't wait for the final boss battle(s). I'm going to assume the final 'temple' is in the twilight realm. Does the typical Zelda theme come into it at all? Ie. the overworld tune from 2d zeldas cause I feel that's been lacking a touch so far. By the way, have any of you guys seen this: http://www.zelda-fans.com/archives/2006/06/the-legend-of-zelda-twilight-princess-soundtrack-demo/ It was released a while before the game came out, supposedly a preview of the soundtrack. That overworld theme is... AMAZING. So much better than what we've got, big shame it wasn't picked.

The dome thing with the locked door isn't till last. Have you tried blowing up a boulder somewhere in the temple with bombs? That made me stuck for a while.
-
The3rdChildren, I didn't read your spoilers but out of curiosity, how's the ending? Ie final temple, boss battle, and ending sequence? Good, bad, out of 10? No spoilers at all please, just curious whether it was on par with OoT's excellence, WW's shortness, MM's... crapness (all: ending-wise)?

I loved Wind Waker's style but I also love TP's one. Having said that I think if we didn't know when both were released, most people would conclude WW was created after TP. The styling of the Forest Haven was beautiful in WW, yet fairly bland in TP.
