The shadow temple was probably the biggest dungeon in all of OoT, as was the spirit temple, and the idea that you had to visit the Spirit temple as a child, get something and then go back as an adult was genius. Fair enough there weren't many sidequests in OoT, there were many more in MM and WW. And I disagree about time between dungeons. It was a very long process in OoT, whereas in TP it's just a matter of going somewhere that's already been pinpointed on the map (via warp naturally), going through a few screens and hey presto you're in the next temple already. Lazy.

I very much agree.

Reasons why many people think it's rushed: - Last 5 temples are tiny and seem to get smaller as you go on. - Travel time between the last 5 is virtually non existant. - The final dungeon is no where near as involved and interesting as Ganon's castle (oot), the moon (mm) or Ganon's castle (ww). - Story doesn't evolve one bit in the last 5 dungeons, instead it just feels like a series of mini levels. - The ending is unimpressive and hardly epic. - Hardly any side quests Would agree that they gave us too much to do early on and not enough later should have been the other way around.

I didn't think there was ENOUGH things/events. Just like it became a chore for the developers to finish the game.

The second phase of the sliding block puzzle was indeed very tough which is refreshing given how overused that puzzle is in Zelda. The boss was pretty dull and simple though looked very cool. The Wind Wakers bosses were 'meh' at best. The Poe one was interesting I guess and the Tower of the Gods one was cool even if it was stupidly easy and a complete rip off of Bongo Bongo from Ocarina. Rushed WW is an understatement. I still can't believe we just 'got' Nayru's pearl without having to do anything. What a joke that was. But as you say I still loved the game, awesome. And yes, the same can be said of TP. Towards the end at least

I found the Ice mansion excellent if a bit small.

It's a fun game though still not very polished if people know what I mean. Then again it's a launch title so maybe I shouldn't expect too much. Also fairly disappointed with the graphics. This is supposed to be next gen, and they can't even make a plunger have more than 8 jagged sides?

Fine if that's what you think. I'd still like to see one more traditional Zelda game on the Wii. - good graphics and music - a good storyline. - ACTUALLY big as opposed to promises of it being huge and 70+ hours - Huge array of weapons - With a special twist to make it different to all other games yet still a celebration of Zelda.
-
Well then you could say that WW was a celebration of Zelda. Or The Minish Cap. Or...
-
My comments about the lack of all those stuff was only in reply that supposedly TP is like a celebration of Zelda. When in fact, I disagree, hence my argument.

I think that party games are certainly becoming more frequent but it's not like they haven't been around before the wii. And out of all the games on the console I still prefer playing Zelda on my own than Wii Sports (awesome as it is).
-
It's the things that HAVEN'T appeared in TP. Magic, proper great fairies, spells/medallion type weapons, musical component, classic bad guys, classic Zelda tune, mirror shield, the triforce (hardly in it)...
-
You mean Phantom Hourglass? All indications thus far are that it'll be a typical Zelda game, albeit with touch capabilities.
-
Video gaming turning completely party game based? I don't think so. The next Zelda isn't going to be something completely brand new and different, Nintendo wouldn't dare tinker with their most popular franchises THAT much. And if TP is a flashback to all things Zelda, oh dear.
-
Nope I wouldn't have. And even if I had the fact that it's a 9 year old game makes up for it. Still, if OoT came out tomorrow on the Wii with updated graphics, it'd be infinately better than TP.

I've said a thousand times (feel free to look) as a general computer game, in comparison to all other games, its amazing. As a Zelda game, compared to other Zelda games, it's very below par.
-
At least those temples had character
-
Bloody hell I've pretty much said those same words in every page on this topic and no one listens :awesome:
-
dabookerman: I've said pretty much those exact same words about 20 times so yes. LOL, you mr 'TP is perfect and I won't admit to a single bad thing about it' talk about rose tinted specs?
-
Yes that is the same with every Zelda game, no doubt about that. The problem with TP isn't that you have to collect what you have to collect (I'd edit your post for spoilers), the problem is... the story loses any sense of urgency, any sense of drama after dungeon 4. The bad guys don't surface till the very end, there's nothing seemingly WRONG with Hyrule and everyone acts like it's a glorious summer day. No danger, no threat of inpending doom (like OoT/MM). And the end battle seems hastilly put together.
-
Nice fun game... Only done about 15% so far so gonna take it slow anyway.
-
The art direction is indeed cool. The storyline goes all over the place after dungeon 4 and feels like it's being made up as you go along.
-
And as I've said many times, the first 4 dungeons are great, it's after those that it goes downhill very quickly..
-
It wasn't a dungeon in OoT, and certainly not pointless as you had to go back there many times throughout the game
-
Very little time? It's about 1 minute between them. Between 5 and 6 is also non existant. Dungeons are alright. Temple of time was empty and pretty pointless looking. Lol, surely you're joking?
