Yup, add me! I'll be on on Tuesday I think.

Had a fairly good play of this last night, really liking it. Does anyone know how to avoid getting grilled for doing anything slightly against the law? I wanted to lasso someone and put them on the train tracks, but as soon as I had lasso'd someone while on my horse I was wanted and you can't go that fast while on the horse. So everyone shot at me. Also ended up playing poker a bit too much. It was annoying in the end as the last guy I was playing with would fold at even the slightest raise...

Yeah, I was thinking that. You can hardly judge someone when you openly confessed on an internet forum that you just got off in a car. Tacky...

Getting paid to stop smoking - controversy?
Sheikah replied to Raining_again's topic in General Chit Chat
And why isn't that reward enough for a smoker, in terms of reasons for quitting, too? -
I should have this within a few hours, hopefully. Quite a few of my PSN contacts keep nagging me to get it and say it's awesome, so if anyone is just starting out and wants to play together around half 5 let me know. :p

Getting paid to stop smoking - controversy?

Hmm I have doubt in that...it's probably more a case of who you know, whose palms you greased and what school you went to, and who with. If they were all geniuses then we wouldn't be in quite such a pickle. Regarding JSA, I'll never see how it's justifiable to spend money on luxuries when it's supposed to serve to sustain you while you find a job. If it was paid directly as rent, food vouchers and transport to and from job interviews then it would be a great motivation to find a job, rather than people living under parents rooves (of which there are many) that find it's just a nice bit of pocket money. Obviously there are people who are genuinely seeking jobs, but these are the kind of people who will actually go on to then get the job. It's a far better system with much less chance of abuse. -

Yay for assumptions. If you're going to draw the false conclusion that I believe that it should be abolished and that it's wholly evil because it's a heavily flawed system then what's the point in continuing the conversation? Obviously it needs changing so that it funds people through paying off rent and supplying food vouchers and clothes rather than payment in cash form so that people on here who live with their parents don't tell us how they've just gone and bought an iPod with it (this actually happened). -

Really? I guess I can spell it out if you'd like... I'm against the ridiculous JSA system we have in place - easily one of the most abused systems there is. The number of people I personally know who half-arsedly pretend to be looking for work but have actually no intention of working is close to 10. One of my friends is starting a funded dentistry course in September, but hasn't worked for the past year. I asked how he got by and he said he was on the dole. I then asked which job he was looking for to be going on with, to which he said "I'm not looking for one" (jobseeker, I think not), after which I asked how he proved he had bothered to look and he said "it's dead easy to show you've looked". He laughed; I didn't. Well I think we can safely assume that the smoke has gone to your brain. :p As you've said before: No, seriously? -

I think the main point is not that it isn't expensive for an individual with cancer. It's that each smoker ends up buying several packets of cigarettes, each taxed to hell, and that most never get cancer or require such expensive forms of therapy. Thus, they continue to generate more profit from taxes than they lose through treatment, no doubt. Of course, it places burden in other areas and is terrible for your health. Sometimes government should do things counter-profit for the good of the people. -
It was the same gameplay; the exact same gameplay as in the previous 3 games albeit on a bigger scale. If I think of a popular title like Zelda, there's usually huge differences between console iterations. And the sandbox novelty does start to wear off a little... Also, the fact the online was flawed (quite unreliable connection-wise and the freeroaming was a bit ridiculous) and unavailable at least on the PS3 version from the offset. Good game, yes, but not perfect 10s.

I don't know, I think they probably make more in tax than they fork out in medical costs. -

I think it's just his over-exaggerated sense of humour. Although there is a strong link between class and smoking. This...is an awful idea. It's up there with EMA and unemployment benefits in my eyes. Cigarettes should be outright banned. -
The only thing I'm worried about is that it's getting marks similar to GTAIV; the game that mysteriously sweeped 10s and half a year later we were left questioning how.

I think this game would have to be around £15 for me to buy it. It has kind of annoyed me in a way, in that a few friends that are a bit style over substance have ignored suggestions of really great games then went out and bought this. Including someone who doesn't really like Zelda (I told him it's practically a Zelda rip-off). He said he wanted an RPG, so I mentioned Fallout 3, and then he said he wanted it to be medieval fantasy genre...so I mentioned Oblivion. And he said no thanks. And he hasn't touched this game much since buying it, funny that. :p

The Meat Cleaver has an S/S modifier for strength and dex, while the miridan hammer has only C/C. It's also great for the knock down...if you can knock someone down you can essentially get multiple hits on someone. Make sure you're 2 handing it and using dash and attack as well as R2. Combined with cursed weapon (get that spell), the clever rat's ring and the morion blade off hand, and second chance to give you breathing space it's unstoppable. Probably the best weapon for PvP (IMO). I might be on later tonight, hopefully. Also, kill Old King Doran if you haven't already. :p

I've spent a while thinking about this now. The initial Tesco deal I mentioned has 2 cheaper options too; £15 a month (staff only) for 250 mins, unlimited texts and data, but you have to pay £320 for the device, £26.25 per month (staff) for 750 mins, unlimited texts and data but a device cost of £200. They're still both the 3GS 16GB, and those two deals are both 12 month contracts and not 24. Bear in mind I also get 10% off the device cost as far as I know, since I have a staff card. There's not much difference in overall cost (the cheaper £15 a month deal with the device cost considered would be £468 total for a year, while the second deal would be £495 total), but clearly I'd get 500 more minutes per month for the whole year. So I might go for the second deal, pay £180 up front and be on a cheaper, shorter contract and possibly switch to O2 simplicity after a year at £15 a month for unlimited texts and data but with 300 minutes. In reality, 750 minutes a month would surely be enough for me and £33.75 for a whole 2 years does seem to be sticking out at me as something I really don't want to walk into. And I'd be scoring an iPod out of this (the biggest size MP3 player I've ever had up to this point is 2GB). All in all, I might have it within a week.

lol, you're making it sound like it's only ideal for people who haven't a clue how to use a computer. :p I've got an NC10 and it looks great as well as being extremely functional. The iPad just seems really awkwardly positioned; it's not this and it's not that. But it is expensive.

It is if you're a batshit crazy person.

By which point I'll have left Tesco and the offer will have ended. :p I'm not sure whether to get this or the HTC Desire now. I'm having trouble finding HTC Desire deals that match up to this one here...

My girlfriend was really sweet the other day and presented to me a full box of Lucky Charms. One premium, overpriced £7 box of the delicious cereal from Selfridges, just for me. Why they ever stopped selling this delicious stuff over here is a god damn mystery. Although the milk does go really blue, and tastes ridiculously sugary. Delicious stuff, though.

Yeah, but, I have no intention of blowing so much money on a phone. Never, ever. To me, this deal seems pretty cheap in the long run considering I'll be getting unlimited everything.
-
I've spent a while checking various places, and it seems to be unlimited. It mentions no actual amount of data and simply mentions you must comply with fair use...but a few places say they've had no problems so far.

Of course you'll find out in a future episode, lol.
