That 360 or regular?
-
So I could just whack a DivX file onto a disc and it'd play it, no need to burn it as a DVD? That's pretty awesome if it can, especially with the card reader extension! Thanks for the info!
-
Ok, so I'm browsing around and see a DivX DVD player for like less than £20 and think 'thats pretty sweet', but then when I thought about things a bit more, I came to the conclusion that I don't really know whats the difference between a regular DVD player and a DivX DVD player. Now, maybe it's just me thinking it's too obvious, but what IS the difference between the two? Anyone have one? Can it play like files straight off a disc, without needing to be written like a DVD? (also, my other thread can be closed now)

It's much better as a whole; Hard to take a picture of it myself without there being folds, but it's a cool shirt, and I got it free!

Thread needs some bumpage, and I got a hairbut! Before and after; It's a bit hard to see my hair from the shadow in the first one, but it feels nice being short again. Unfortunately, I always seem to look terrible in photos, or at least I think so. I can never look good in a photo unless I am trying to look bad

I can say from experience... Yes.

I was bored and came up with something to do on wikipedia, which me and my friend called Wikilinks, you click random article, take note of the title, then random article again, then the aim is to get back to the first page using only the links in the articles, in as little clicks as possible. I was quite bored as I said, and procrastinating. Arpa Ke'un From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Arpa Ke'un (d. 1336) was an Ilkhan (1335-1336) during the disintegration of the Mongol state in Persia. He was a member of the house of Tolui. Arpa Ke'un came to power following the death of the Ilkhan Abu Sa'id in 1335. Almost immediately he had to deal with an invasion by Ozbek Khan of the Golden Horde. He defeated the invasion, and furthermore used it as a pretext for executing Abu Sa'id's widow Bagdad Katun in an effort to cement his power. He afterward married Sati Beg, Abu Sa'id's sister and widow of Coban. In 1336, he faced attack from the governor of Baghdad, 'Ali Padsah. The latter defeated him near Maraga on April 10, and soon after Arpa was captured and killed. He was succeeded as Ilkhan by the puppet Musa...

I did consider that, but then though it'd not really be cheaper, as I'd be forking out the extra for it and stuff, whilst I could avoid that by getting extra in the laptop to last for a while at least. As I said, I've bought the laptop already, though I did look at external storage such as HDDs, though I concluded that anything that really needed to not be on my laptop would be all right for writing to DVD, if that makes sense?

I've been in there a few times, it seems full of names I don't recognise and little conversation, so I don't go in there anymore. Someone should make a fresh new channel!

__________________________________________________________ I know people are still reading this and just not answering! No matter, I have gone and bought myself a laptop, and so this thread could in effect be locked, as soon as someone can answer my questions about the RAM and 'shared' graphics. For those who care, I got the £400 laptop from ebuyer with an extra gig of RAM what I'll need to fit. For now, I refrained on the wireless keyboard and that, as it's just for the ease of my shittily laid out room.

I think they're gonna be like no Zelda game has ever been before, which brings to mind, just how far can games go? Will the possibilities and genres ever be exhausted? I mean, it's hard to KEEP setting precedents and revolutions, of which Nintendo have had their pretty mighty big share, can you?
-
Oh no, not at all, just that the names were exceedingly good. They're really good as a whole, very pokemon, and look pretty cool too, I can imagine them making it into the cartoon as well.
-
I got another, exactly where the hell are all the 'launch window' titles that were promised to us? Originally as launch, and then as these 'launch window' titles. Nintendo totally fucking hooked and conned us all with the wii, and I feel like a mug for falling for it.
-
May I say, I think that is rather good on the names front, very Pokemon! I would enter, but most of my imagination and creative talent disappeared around the age of 9.

I lol'd I'd ask why there's so many stupid little design flaws in the Wii which could easily be sorted out or fixed or corrected or bettered yet nothing is and I want to know why. I'd then elaborate on them. Basically, it's what The Bard said.

I'd say to have a look at what's running first and see if you can pick out anything that shouldn't be, something similar happened to my friend and everytime they were typing something his screen would black out. He later found some sort of remote controlling program installed on his computer designed for use on networks by admins, which allows for remote access and control. He found it and got rid of it. Of course, whilst you do any of this stuff, make sure the computer is totally disconnected from the internet. If it's wired, pulling out the plug is the best way to make sure.

I download alot of stuff, I plan on this laptop lasting for at least 5 years also, so 100GB isn't that much. I've found another laptop, on the cheaper side at £370, though it's reconditioned and got some rather mediocre sounding graphics. http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1090267841.1180013654@@@@&BV_EngineID=cceladdkmlehjeicflgceggdhhmdgmj.0&page=Product&sku=975234 An alternative to the PCWorld £550, which is also £550, has twice the RAM at 2gig, but shared graphics. Everything else is relatively the same I think. http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=399825&tab=specification Best find so far is probably this one at ebuyer; http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/123116 I got a question or two, I'm pretty set on that ebuyer one for £400. However, when it says that the graphics has upto XXXMB shared, shared with what? Does it mean shared out of the RAM or what? Also, does anyone know where I can get a cooling pad and a wireless keyboard/possibly mouse or wireless keyboard with a mouse built into it sort of thing? Any kind of mouse, rollerball, touchpad, anything. I have seen a £30 wireless keyboard with mousepad on ebuyer, which I'm considering, just posting this in case there's anything I should be aware of? I got another edit, the one on ebuyer has the option of buying an extra 1gig on RAM with it for only another £20, which I'm considering because I can only imagine it'd make things better, right? Worth it? Only issue is, how hard or easy will it be to fit?

That sounds terrible, totally press charges and take him to court! Don't be scared of any repurcussions and go ahead with it. As for what happened, the exam board will most certainly not fail you in the end, and it could be worse, he could have had a blade and cut you right up. Or a really pointy stick. Anyway, hope you get better soon and all works out for the best, and that bastard gets what's coming to him. -
I do not want this cult to be recognised or even associated with religion, and so I have signed it. Scientology is terrible from what I've seen of their own practitioners' actions, and a farce.

Hmm, I've had a look on PCWorld's site, and came across this which caught my eye; http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0565427918.1179941718@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccckaddkmlehhlhcflgceggdhhmdgmk.0&page=Product&sku=276551&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&tabIndex=4 Bit on the pricey side though, and unfortunately a web only exclusive. I haven't done alot of other looking yet though, so I'm gonna keep on. It's the issue of a bigger than 100GB hard drive which is screwing things up, anything decent I see doesn't seem to have a bigger hard drive

Reading some of this thread, it seems I have been lucky not to encounter anything to really bring me down. Even having said that, I'm a bit bouncy in that if I get superdown(which i have a few times, over stupid angsty stuff when I was younger) I usually am not for long, though I'll often sort of get to a point where the issue is still there, but I look at what good stuff I've got going too. Either that, or move up to a slightly less serious but kind of mopey stage. As I said though, it's all been over stupid stuff, stuff which doesn't really matter to the real world.

Well as it happens, the blue car is actually gone from my google earth house image! I made a few, with little commentaries. First one is of the Cutty Sark, because I wanted to. House is a semidetached, hence why a bit isn't in that oblong(heh) as it isn't my house at all but my neighbours!

Oh man, I so totally know nothing about computers anymore I'm like one of those people...old!. My parents are being a bit rubbish in that I need my mum to drive me to the various shops, and my dad to pay for it. However, she has other ideas about who's paying for it(my dad offered a few weeks before he broke his foot, but i was gonna try and fix the other rather than take a free laptop). Anyway, again, thanks for the advice guys, it's unlikely I'll be running anything spectacular on it that'd be highly demanding, though that's due to the habit of not ever being able to play all the latest stuff. As long as it lasts a good few years, runs smooth and has a massive hard drive, I'm happy. Hopefully I'll get a chance to go to currys comet pc world etc on friday or so and have a look at the stuff on the shelves.
-
Do google earth update their images at all? I found my house once, I could tell it was mine because it had our no longer ours blue car in the drive, then I could tell some of the other stuff showed it was ours. I later deleted google earth, after of course tracking down a number of other people's houses. Maybe I'll reinstall it now, so I can feel part of the cool crowd

The way I see it, this is like an extra £350k a week or so for the BBC to fund into other stuff. That's quite a rough guess at this being £70k an episode atm, and I have no real idea of the costs of things, but I should imagine Neighbours was one of their more expensive shows given that it was one of the more popular?
