Mafia games need a shakeup, and one thing I was contemplating(not that I'm likely to run a mafia) that Danny mentioned(when i saw him for like 5 minutes irl) and a lot of new players to the game assume; is that there isn't a majority per se. There IS a majority, but basically the majority vote is what happens at the end of the day regardless of numbers. So if no one votes that day except for person A voting for person B, person B will get lynched at the end of that day. 1>0 Mafia still win they hold an unchallengable majority, and if the players don't want to lynch that day they have to vote a majority no lynch. Games drag too long at the moment and are too open for abuse of inactivity, I'm not sure how well this'd work, but I think it'd definitely cut back on some of that. If anything, it'd at least end a game sooner(some of the ones we have without time limits last forever!). That's the other thing, this'd obviously need rough time limited phases/explicit intervention from the GM.

3 Months Of Nothing / Aimless / What To Do With Your Life
Rummy replied to chairdriver's topic in General Chit Chat
I thought this thread was going to be about Aimless, but I am dissappoint -
She is too cute.

It does take a while to make sense, there's a pretty basic(cos the game's got big scope) beginner's guide on PcGamer that was on the steam news, might help you get started. There's something addictive about it once you get going though, especially with other people. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/06/22/terraria-beginners-guide/?ns_campaign=article-feed&ns_mchannel=ref&ns_source=steam&ns_linkname=0&ns_fee=0

Yeah, I've already started looking for maps of cheap pubs(well, mainly Sam Smiths) and apparently there's actually loads all round. One day I'll pop up london maybe and check out which ones are decent for a big group thing. Also next year might have to be earlier in like June/earyl july time, cos for people travelling things might start getting expensive around then given the olympics and stuff.

Then I'll ask ReZ again; Are you or are you not one of those trackers ReZ? Cos if you are then surely you got something? Though I guess at early days like this the information is still shallow, just want to confirm what you're saying.

Well yeah it looks like it got awesome ONCE WE ALL GOT TO A PLACE AND SAT DOWN. Such as a pub. A plan someone should have come up with much sooner. Daft did save the day with the black box, but then it all fell apart again. This is also why parks work, the point of the meet is to meet imo. A park is nice because we aren't intruding/intimidating and allows mobility of moving around mingling with all the various folk present. I'm annoyed because it possibly was the crappest of all the meets so far AND doesn't do any favours for those who attended from afar, and also cos it only seems to have got good when i left and I'm all bitter Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing everyone, but spending half the day asking/wondering/planning what to do next doesn't give us lots of room for other, possibly better, conversation. Totally. It just all felt far too brief.

I can't believe you absolutely positively refused to give ANYTHING and get so upset that two people have put a vote on you when YOU vote on much lesser things in other mafias. To give us absolutely nothing(we're asking for a full roleclaim or anything, just...something) makes me feel like you don't trust us/think you know better than us, or are trying to hide something. This placates me for now. If I DO end up silenced tomorrow, it might be a little to convinient that Esequiel would guess that as an unstated side effect of his power, and consider him a silencer. I'd imagine he'll reveal something about me then I die the next day and not be able to confirm it. Remove Vote This is such a fishy post right here. Like..what? Did I say I KNOW he's never ever possibly ever gonna act in the interests of town? Or did I express my own opinion and reasoning for my vote that I'm entitled to? Oh wait, yeah, I totally did the latter. Also pointed out further the importance of needing to vote as this game goes on. The point about us 'all wanting him out of the game' is also completed unfounded, there was like...not even near half the majority of votes on him? I haven't been keeping count, but unless I'm very much wrong there wasn't even more than 3?! (Me, Yvonne, Tales) And yes, you've missed a lot that's been stated. Or maybe you're choosing to actively play dumb and ignore it. Personally I actually agree on not protecting/roleblocking on the first few nights if no PMs are recieved/you absolutely are not sure about anyone. Roleblocking/protecting and investigator wouldn't do more harm than good imo, and probs not worth the risk. I know he was bluffing Esequiel, but didn't ReZ imply he was some sort of tracker earlier? I did question him on this but he seems to have not addressed my post.
-
That sounds like a plan, I just need to find me some time for it!
-
Well I'm keeping my vote regardless because I don't think he's acting, or is going to act, in any sort of interest to the town. I'd also really like to highlight the point of needing to vote in a time-limited game. 48 hours is an easy enough time for suspicious mafia to lay low/ignore the thread and then kill in the night, so I'll be watching carefully for people doing so.
-
Maybe it picked up after I left, but tbh, this is the absolute shoddiest of meetups so far. Whilst I had enough fun with the people I was with, the disjointedness, lack of organisation, fact we spent half the day in various different groups, it was a bloody terrible 'meetup'. Next year, we need some fucking solid plans.
-
I'm not posting mine, though you can obtain it via ReZ(tho see no need why you would, tbh).
-
Marcamillian's somewhere in london already, being some sort of willybum. Just so you guys know. (you have to find him to win!)
-
I haven't actually seen that many people vote yet. However, this is a time limited day phase game, if we dawdle on voting etc, all the mafia have to do is the (lol) actual classic mafia tactic of just laying low/not doing or saying much and killing, waiting things out. Being the Cake would have been a fantastic idea for a character lol. Seriously though, do you still absolutely insist on giving nothing at all about yourself? Are you or are you not one of those trackers ReZ? Cos if you are then surely you got something? Though I guess at early days like this the information is still shallow, just want to confirm what you're saying. The engineer/white coated character and the pilot(was that The Peeps?) thing confuses me, I'm not sure it's as straightforward as you've made it, it seems we've got too many people with the same character and didn't Peeps say he's officially confused? If he is, then I doubt it's just a re-director and more of an effect. That white coated character has sought The Peeps out, and the engineer could just have some sort of defense OR the white coated character could be a target swapper/re-director whilst the special agent is something else.

At least buy me a drink first.
-
He didn't do anything, that is true. That led to questioning why, and him getting overly defensive, which is something he did do, and so I feel not too bad lynching him on that. Don't forget we're on time limited phases this game.
-
Grunch and Jay! You really do need to teach me it sometime though. Is it harder than chess?
-
I've been a knob and proper knackered myself out working today, keep forgetting THIS IS TOMORROW but I'm so tired and I gotta turn out for my evening thing, so it's possible... I'm gonna have to bail

Sorry, couldn't resist, one last twist. Haven't actually read much of the thread. Here's how it is Ese, ok, you may not be evil but we wanna lynch you/suspect you. Sure, you may NOT be mafia, and I understand not wanting to share too much too soon, but the pressure vote encourages the tit for tat 'ok, i'll give you SOMETHING' if not the counter to the point made against you. However, given your point blank refusal/reaction, I'm more than happy to keep my vote on you/lynch you and pay that price if you're town, cos to be so anti/obstructive is hardly going to work in our favour. So yeah, totally keeping my vote on Ese after all tbh.
-
Making good points? Classic townie tactic. Though I actually do rather agree on it, so I'm willing to take that gambit! Don't expect to get a lynch off it but just in case I think I shall pressure Vote:Esequiel and see what he has to say for himself.

Logical paradoxes? Not sure I follow.
