  1. I will get it as I'm not as skilled as hardcore gamers (I'll refer to myself as softcore for convienence, I'm not casual gamer either as I have the same gaming/buying habits as hardcore gamers), so I will get it.
  2. Well, guys. You could always use Skype to connect to eachother if you like to trashtalk while playing Mario Strikers Charged.
  3. [link]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skynet_5[/link] I didn't understand from wikipedia how Skynet 5 could start to control euhm, robots. Anyone care to fill me in?
  4. It was probably bad phrasing from my side to call myself casual gamer. The point I tried to get across was that I have casual gamer-skills and those people usually have bad gamer-skills. Maybe I'm just an atypical hardcore gamer. But, what term should we come up with in my case? Amateur gamer? ^-Edited (shortened) by Amon Hm...I might actually pick up The Longest Journey and Dreamfall, if I am able to find a gamer laptop in a reasonable price. Also, the music from Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! is a major driving point for me. It's so nice to follow instructions accompinated by beats and rhytm. Ready Steady Go and Over the Distance are my favourites, followed by Koi no Dance Site. I must admit I enjoy reading about other people having the same experience I do. Keep'em coming. I don't feel so alone then.
  5. Yeah, you two got me right and don't worry, Rummy. I'm not offended. However, I believe most casual gamers are put off by your kind of harsh remarks. That's what makes me believe casual gamers are put off using sites/forums like this as all sites seems to focused on joy that hardcore gamers want. I.e. hard, demanding games. I really want a Wii, but it is hard to come by. Most stores are sold out, immidiately after they get their shipment. That's sad. I also have over 300 games in my disposal. Only 10% of those games have I enjoyed and got through with. I do think 50% of them are good games, they're just to damn hard and demanding and give little or no incentive to push my gamer-skills. It might be a puzzle, like the Jesus slidepuzzle in Largo Winch: Empire under attack for GC, that beats me. Or, it might be other things that stops further advancement, like trying to protect Ashley from RE4. Otherwise, I would too applaud the game as one of the best. But, I cannot. I just can't be a level-headed, clear mind when all those villagers attacks us (me as the one who contol Leon, Leon as the link between me and the game's world and Ashley who needs protection). Those kind of incidents kills my enjoyment of the game. It also demands that you save up on the ammo for the bosses. Those things makes it too hard for most people to play the game, I kid you not. Maybe, I'm just not competive enough to want to press on and see all that hardcore games wants their audience to see. Humm, I agree with some of the statements and disagree with some. I too, enjoy RPGs. They usually don't demand button-mashing skills or quick reflexes. I agree with you about Golden Sun (and if you want further challenges, that can be found in the underground dungeon in one of the villages in Contigo, I seem to recall) and to some degree with SoA. However, there was one puzzle I couldn't solve, even with the guidance from gamefaqs. The one where you were supposed to gather three golden stuff, which would unlock a hidden island. I found the statue and the golden bird, but they didn't give much more clue, unfortunely. Breath of Fire II isn't that hard if you don't mind getting help from gamefaqs. But, I stopped playing it after I got hold of other games, which kept me distracted from the game for a very good while. When I came back to it, I had forgotten what I had done so far in the game, and without no log to read through, I was pretty much left clueless. That game then demanded me to walk to every village to gather clues and that felt very dismotivating. Haha, you hit the nail on it's head. Thanks for the humour and the truth.
  6. I have a lot great, well-polished and well-received games that I struggle to get through, like Tales of Symphonia. I see that games as a great game, however my lack of super hardcore skills prevents me from getting further in the game. I have poor button-smashing skills coupled with bad reflexes and maintaining a clear head during battles. Tales of Symphonia isn't the only game that demands too much from me, but the game is the first to pop up in my mind of games that are too hardcore for me. Surely, I cannot be the only one, so why in the heavens name aren't there any good casual-gamer sites. In my search for one, I only got into one site and the site was focused solely on web-games (e.g. flash-games, etc) with very few games featured. I imagine it is caused by casual gamers are less interested in games and might be intimitated by the harsh use of words by hardcore gamers in forums like this. Is there any why to make things better for us with casual gamer-skills? I have many more things on my mind, but I'll wait to reveal more of them later on, when I've received more of your input, thoughts and point of view, when I got more things to chew on. Happy posting, everyone!
  7. At number 3 on my top3 list of the greatest Gamecube-games comes Baten Kaitos: Origins. With it's beautiful graphics and magnificent soundtrack and ingenous battlesystem it was truly the greatest final fantasy. Following number 3 at second place is the first Baten Kaitos-game. It had it all. OK storyline, great character development, beautiful rendered graphics blends nicely with the magnificent soundtrack. And, in number one place in my all-time greatest GC-games is none other then the truly immersive FPA, Metroid Prime, with it's greatest female protagonist, alone in all the world, fighting against monsters and picking up bounties. The game is be all, end all.
  8. I'm having great deal of ordeal getting a PAL Wii in my flat. I just looked at the sales from some norwegian blog, and it showed only ca. 7,700 sold Wiis. I suspect the low number is caused by the few numbers of Wii being shipped to Norway. It might also be of this great Sony-biased people living in Norway. Must that cannot afford a PS3, goes from PS2 to PC-gaming (/360-gaming) or they completely quit gaming.
  9. Baten Kaitos (both of them). The lack of real j-RPGs was a constant nag for me on the GC, so when Baten Kaitos came along I went totally nuts for the game, and now I really look forward for every RPG that either Monocrest, Tri-Crescendo or Namco developes (with the clear expection of Tales of-series) for a Nintendo-console. Heck, I even imported Xenosaga I&II DS, even when I knew it would be text-heavy with a very long intro.
  10. I'd like to get my hands on a Wii-make of Silicon Space, developed by DMA and published by uh, some publisher. ", That game could've been a little more gamer-friendly with better graphics and sound + controller. \o/
  11. Hm, what about Mizuki (Mitsuki?)? That means beautiful moon. Unfortunely, a videogame character is named that as her middle name (Another Code: Two Memories aka Trace Memory).
  12. I also have many games saved on my two Memory Card 1019. Slot A has 520 blocks free and slot B has only about 100 blocks free.
  13. The Regginator, is sent from VH1 (or was it MTV productions?) to save Nintendo-fans from getting overly defensive from the others console-makers fans. He takes names and kicks butts. The present hasn't felt as good as it has now. High five to one who knows what movie tag I'm trying to parody.
  14. Haha, you make a rather interesting point and I agree. Being passive can be quite damaging in the media. I know this from a personal experience, when I was kind of 'hooked' on a 'friend' of mine. He used to bash my interest in Nintendo by repeatly harassing me of comments made by Sony he read from the internet and making me feel like utter crap. Never, ever did Nintendo retiliate those comments, making my 'job' of defending my hobby even harder. I actually blame that guy for making me such an ardent, angry fanboy I was in the past. Some of that fanboyism is still lingering, though not so bad. On a second thought, it might actually be Nintendo's fault for making me such a bad fanboy by not being more aggresive and pointing out Sony's stealing of ideas. On a third thought, that might actually be a combination of those elements coupled with the fact the a seed of fanboyism already existed before, just waiting for the right soil to make my fanboyism grow (sorry, I digressed). The point of me going so personal was so to put some perspective on Anakenobi's arguments, because I'm having a very hard time believing I've had the similar experience and those situations could've made some people jump from Nintendo-fans to only Sony-fans (and others as hardheaded, angry, bitter Nintendo-fanboys). As of my opinion of PS3 Home-thing, it makes me think of it as a crossbread of Animal Crossing+Mii and hearing about PS3 Home makes me look forward for AC Wii and to see how Nintendo might choose to use AC Wii to combat Sony's attempt of making AC Wii+Mii copy. Oops, now I sound like a fanboy. Sorry, 'bout dat! XD
  15. Yes, you sometimes acquire (did I misspell it?) a weapon when you kill an enemy. This can be influenced if you have high luck rating, meaning you're more likely to get one. This is taken from what I can remember from gamefaqs.com, which I used after I got through normal mode with some of the members dead. I didn't wanna that to happen again on hard mode, so I decided to set myself into the details of the mechanics in this game and to get hints on how do to the missions. Many a times, I found out I was more efficient then the writer using other means to end the mission with full bonus-stats. Those were very important for me to acquire as I admired one weak character, which I got to control almost at the end of the game. I did that like more then half a year ago. I think it is actually closer to a year, then half a year. But, I digress. I've yet to encounter an event where I got armour from the dead body, hehe.
  16. Well, as everyone who's played PoR know, small stat boosts can be a gift from above. So, I'll definitely will import the japanese version of PoR, too. That way I'll have a small advantage from the previous Fire Emblem game. \o/
  17. Oh, man. I wish I knew about this earlier. Then, I'd import the japanese Path Of Radiance as well. Oh, well. Another months wait shouldn't matter. *-)
  18. I will definitely import this game and japanese Wii from yesasia.com - the cheapest option for importers (as I recently discovered). I know kana and some kanjis. However, I don't know what I'll be reading from the game 99% of the text. Still, being the first among the first ones to play the game is in my mind worth it, even though I'll be spoiling myself from some of the story, just the way I did with both of the Baten Kaitos-games. Oh, yes. I'm definitely nuts for RPGs, so desperate for them to have on my Ninty-consoles. Yet, I decline from purchasing PS2 as of now. But, back to point. I adored FE:PoR so much, I even toyed with the thought of importing the japanese version, just so I could see if I could recognize some of the jap text from the PAL-version. I also fell in love with all the characters, so that's why my desire to aquire Faia Embremu: Akatsu no Megami is so strong. @-)
  19. Yes, as you've probably noticed in the main site, one has the possibility to comment on the news, and for those that are even more observant, you'd noticed me commenting almost on every news bite from the main site this week. Now, I also observed many with sick amount of comments. So, my question for commentators is: Do you feel you're overly obsessed with giving your opinion out to every newsbite possible or do you have a more relaxed, laidback attitude towards commenting, only resorting to comment if you feel there's a slight misinformation from the news and/or from the comments? And, then I got some questions for observers/readers only: Do you feel that the comment feature is a benefit for the news-readers, or do they tend to be overly filled with fanboyish bashing of ideas and/or other annoyances? Lastly, I'd like to ask the mods/adms if I should have searched for something less spesific as "Have you become addicted to commenting in the news?" in order for me to check if there is anything similar to this thread already? If there is a similar thread already, could someone with extra-ordinarie forum power move this to post to that thread?
  20. Well, me being a diehard Nintendo-loyalist have ordered this from the amazon.co.uk site and am expecting to hit my mailbox in around six weeks from now on due to the fact that I ordered other games as well. Many games I most add.
  21. Great news guys and gal! I finally was able to find a used copy of Killer 7 at amazon.co.uk. That is just awesome. In a couple of weeks I'll finally be able to find out why this game is so weird and different and awe-inspiring. ;P

I tend to get visits from a friend of mine who comes to our house to play games, so I thought it was best to gather all my multiplayer games at my parent's house.
  23. I want Rocky&Pocky (SNES) as it seems to be a great co-op game. And the sequel too. For NES I want Ikari Warriors. That was a magnificent game. Me and my cousin used to play it religiously. Although, I got killed quite frequently or got my tank or helicopter blasted to smitherens + I used to get pissed off, because my cousin were better then me to play. I was just a boy then, so I thought no girls should be better then me. Tennis (NES) would also be nice to download, simply because it's so easy to pick-up 'n play for almost everyone. But, I'd rather have the Japan-only sequel where you could compete against your friends. For N64 I'd like to get Sumo-o just for fun. To see more of big, fat, muscular guys wrestilng eachother. Also, I miss the Ogre Battle 64. I wanted to add more variety in genres for N64 and I heard it was good. I wanted it so badly, I almost imported the american N64 for it. Then I heard it was printed in very low quantity and was hard to obtain. Mystical Ninja Goemon is also something I wanted for my N64 and that too was for the sake of adding variety of genres. I longed for RPGs for my N64. Beetle Adventure Racing was also a very fun game in my opinion. It was fast, the Beetles acted differently, the levels were wild and varied and it was very challenging indeed. Waverace 64 is also something I'd like to see for my Virtual Console. I never got around obtaining a copy myself, so I miss it. It was a fun little racer with magnificent wave physics and great ambient music. That misty river track was just pure bliss. As for none-Nintendo games I'd like to get Alex Kidd in Wonderland. Great game as I've played it once. I think he used skateboard and threw axes to get fruit and such. Very addictive and fun, indeed. California Games (Commodore 64) is something I want to get a hold of for download to VC. I remember I was very good at dribling and all the others around me were all in awe when I was at a birthday party. No one seemed to know what to do there, expect from me. Also from the same console, I want Ghostbusters. That'd be nice. I always wanted it as the music was awesome and riding around in a vehicle blasting away at ghost and then the capturing. But, it was a bootleg game so the game used to freeze quite frequently.
  24. I realize it, but I think my only chance to get Killer 7 is a used one. I just phrased it so I wouldn't miss the smell of factory sealed game, because that might never happen to top-notch games. The only sensation I will get from the factory sealed game, would be Disney games or something. And, Moria: How much would you sell it for me? I don't quite trust eBay. I once gave away my card number for them and I've experienced that someone's been tapping my bank account for about £10 each month. You can add that up for a year and then multiply with about 7 years. I never bothered to anything about until recently when I changed my income bank account. However, would other choices to I have expect from PayPal. CCBill, perhaps? Lastly, Nintendork: I might be willing to pay for your asking price, but I'm not totally sure yet. I'll have to wait. B)
  25. Yeah, don't subscribe for free gifts alone. Subscribe for the relatively excellent content, in particularly the "All about Wii"-feature, which I've already mentioned and the previous issue they did a recipe from that japanese Navi Cook-none game. I find it quite useful. And their reviews for me holds only entertainment value, as goes for websites, too. If a game intrigues me, I won't let a sloppy review stop me. If I did that, many games I've enjoyed wouldn't be in my collection. Like Lost Magic (which I lost, pardon the pun), Summoner: A Goddess Reborn and many other. I've actually been dissappointed in a lot of other overhyped games like Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Splinter Cell and many other games. :/
