  1. I was right the first time then. I think they like to take the piss a bit to be honest. So many people quoting it was meant to be out in Winter and they pick the last possible date.
  2. It's 10 years old Shorty! I fired it up on my N64 last night. Still kick ass in multiplayer luckily though I got owned doing the Perfect Agent missions. I'm going to go with 10th March for release date. Anyone else got any bets.
  3. I agree, I love the music in this game. This was one of my faves, always reminded me of the beginning of Farscape. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0vAI-V_UZI&feature=related
  4. I think it's 4 player split-screen (which by the way you can go online with as well so that'd be 4 on one console vs. 4 on another console but this probably removes any bots) with bots, 8 player online. Co-op and Counter-op online/split-screen.
  5. They've got until March 21st before Winter ends. So it could be 3rd, 10th or 17th. What's the betting it'll be the 17th.
  6. Really? I watched the Ken Lobb walkthrough and all he said was that the buttons were mapped like they would be in CoD/Halo. It is dual analogue in the sense that the camera control has been mapped to an analogue stick but it's not true analogue as the N64 controller was 4 buttons. Saying that though it's probably exactly the same as a dual analogue game, which is probably what you meant. What I was trying to say is that turning speed, aiming sensitivity, none of that has/can be changed. Which is totally fine with me
  7. Still playing this demo. Only one map but still enjoying running around as a Predator and stabbing people in the back.
  8. There has been no touching up of the aiming controls apparently. All that's been done is button remapping and camera control to an analogue. So it'll still 'feel' like PD.
  9. You're both wrong i'm afraid . Most of the weapons were available but only in single player. They also had to be unlocked. The way I remember it the PP7, Klobb, Soviet, DD44, AR33, RCP90, ZMG and D5K were the ones available. Maybe others but I can't remember. Rocket Launcher and the likes weren't in it.
  10. Was not expecting 800 points, I bought 1200. Now have 400 to spend on something...
  11. It's out in March apparently. Trust Rare to pick the last possible minute to release it. March is the end of Winter, which is what they said.
  12. I would've much preferred the option to scan the entire planet at once, perhaps at some sort of cost. Leaving manual scanning for radio signals. I really hope it doesn't return in its current form in ME3.
  13. I've got my MS points all ready and waiting. Release the mother!!
  14. We're actually going to see this tomorrow then. Hopefully they'll tell us a date.
  15. That's killed me on several occasions. I can imagine that'll be annoying when I try it.
  16. Lucky git Serebii. I don't get these achievements half the time though. I'm trying for Overload Specialist for example. It only seems to count every other time I do it. Do I need to destroy the shield with Overload? Just use Overload? Kill the enemy with Overload? What!? It's very vague with all of those types of achievements. I somehow managed to do the Technician one (use 2 biotics simultaneously). It took like an age because it wouldn't register half the time. I found the best way was to Pull and Warp. God knows what you have to do for Warp Specialist...
  17. To be honest, the Predator is only as good as the person playing (obviously that applies to every species). I've kicked a lot of Predators asses. Melee, headshot, dead. The clever players always get me from the shadows though, damn cloak.
  18. Who's actually making this one. I keep hearing it's not the guys who did Fallout 3 but the ones who did the first 2 Fallouts? Yet it's still Bethesda isn't it?
  19. So...
  20. I'm on my second playthrough now on 'Hardcore'. It really is damn hardcore. If I don't start getting some upgrades i'm going to get owned a lot. I never managed to fully upgrade my weapons in the first playthrough even though i'm pretty sure I went everywhere and did everything. I guess I missed some shops. Really want to perfect my choices too for ME3.
  21. I read it was out this year too. I'm not bitter, honest
  22. To my own admission I am blinded by my love of the franchise I totally agree that it's not good to judge the game based on the demo. A one map death match, a very cramped map at that. Team deathmatch would've made a better example and you are thrown into the deep end with no idea really what's what. Death match isn't really a mode i'll be playing in the final game I prefer species on species. A lot of times i've noticed people making they're own rules and not attacking their own, makes it so much better. So yeh, for the casual player probably best wait for the reviews and final game.
  23. It looks awesome, and the idea behind it is awesome. Unfortunately I can't shake the skepticism. This is SEGA. They haven't got it right in how many years? How much of the team that worked on the original Sonics are left. Not many I would imagine. There's more to making an old school Sonic game than just making it LOOK like one. The music, the levels, the secrets are all about what made the originals great. I don't just want to run through some really cool, retro looking levels with no thought put into them whatsoever. Wow how cynical am I? As for the episodic element. Can't say it bothers me all that much if each episode is the length of a standard game anyway. I'm more curious as to why they're bothering to have it in episodes. I'd be happy with just the one game. Do they really have that many ideas? Or is it just a way to cash in.
  24. Looks like i'm the only one who enjoyed it haha. Maybe it's because i've never played an AvP game and the Aliens/Predator movies are like my favourite ever so i'm probably biased. I must say i've played it pretty extensively and haven't had any problems with it. After all it is a demo. The weird thing is I thought i'd be bothered about the distance you can get stabbed in the back but i'm not. The way I see it i'm going to get killed in the back anyway, if i'm not looking that way the distance they got me from is irrelevant. It's like complaining that you got shot in the back from far off on CoD or whatever. You're still going to die whatever distance it is. I think you can break free from being grabbed anyway. That happens pretty rarely to me though considering i'm very twitchy and ALWAYS look around. I'm loving the atmosphere of the game more than anything, hearing pulse rifles and screams echoing in the background. Shitting myself that there's something on my motion tracker, not seeing anything only to discover a predator cloaked right next to me. I also thought it'd be unbalanced but i've had the same amount of kills in every class, not many people i've played take advantage of blocking claw swipes whereas I do. I can't really compare this to the previous games so I don't know what's the same and what isn't. I found it weird that the melee attack 'homes' in. It's a bit cheap but that's what the block is for. I can totally understand why some people don't like it. I probably wouldn't if didn't really give a crap about the franchise. Hey ho
  25. Stupid thing about the updated textures is the fact the models still have fists for hands. Still would like a release date though to be honest. I read on the Rare twitter the game is finished and they're waiting for PR.
