  1. I have no idea how it should be spelt to be honest, I'll just accept whatever they put in front of us Mostly just got caught up in everything else to be honest, so not quite for the same reason I missed out Bugsnax in June
  2. Yeah, the messaging has certainly been a bit shaky from ShopTo. I don't even think their pre-orders are live yet (can't see anything on their Twitter and I was also one of those to register), so I imagine it's just a case of people waking up to the pre-orders going live at a few places last night. Think I'll be sticking with my GAME pre-order for the hardware (minus that charging stand which I'll need to get elsewhere), after checking what they're offering for delivery vs ShopTo (who I had been planning to go with) I don't think there's going to be a much safer guarantee than the Royal Mail 24h Tracked GAME are offering for free. Still waiting for software to go up at places other than GAME, though I noticed Miles Morales was listed as £51.99 at GAME. Not sure if that's the final listing, as it's $49.99/€49.99 overseas, but if it is £51.99, well that seems a little bit steeper than I was anticipating. That won't stop me from trying to get a copy, mind And like you said though, still plenty coming to PS4, and some of these games are too! I'm finding myself on the fence about picking up CP2077 at launch now, just knowing that there's going to be that next gen upgrade down the line and also because I plan on getting Miles Morales and Demon's Souls on the same day means it'll be a while before I get to one of those games (and Age of Calamity is the day after!). Much pondering shall be done today I think
  3. Ah, pop this right next to The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Yeah so I think we'll stick with Ragnarok until stated otherwise
  4. PlayStation blog has been updated and confirms that Naoki Yoshida will be serving as producer, while Hiroshi Takao will be the game's director. More information will be coming in 2021. With more information coming in 2021, I think this is a sign development is going well, as has typically been the case under Yoshi-P, so wouldn't be surprised at all if it's released by the end of the next financial year (March 2022). And if they do run into development trouble, I think we can expect timely updates - they've been very transparent about how it took them roughly five months to transition to and optimise working from home because of COVID-19, and once they had finally returned to their typical workflow, announced the delay of everything in the XIV schedule by five months. Would be great if they continue that level of transparency with this project too, though I do hope they don't run into any trouble in the first place!
  5. Mando S1 having a great time at the Emmy's it seems. I'm sure there'll be more wins by the time I wake up
  6. Yeah, I think it should be fine? We'll see I guess I registered a while back with them, imagine it should be the case we get an email tomorrow at some point and then can just confirm the payment method. Ideally. Got one secured with GAME at least as a backup, but yeah, would much rather go with ShopTo. Had a really good experience with them on both the customer service and delivery front for games, so I'll see. Will be trying to get that charging stand I couldn't get from GAME from there at least! probably the games too
  7. Do you have a link by any chance Cookyman? All I'm finding are the 'Register Your Interest' spots
  8. Damn, these are some nice looking retail boxes!
  9. Looks like it's out of stock at Smyths EDIT: and GAME. Damn.
  10. Yeah, so this is probably the biggest reason why they should have clarified it during the Showcase I'm sure it'll all be cleared up in the next few hours, going to be a weird time for now though!
  11. Only place online pre-orders seem to be live at in the UK is GAME right now. Have pre-ordered the console, extra DualSense, PULSE 3D headset, and media remote (would have been the charging stand too, but sold out) from them, though would prefer to order from ShopTo with DPD 24, so will keep an eye out at least and cancel with GAME if so. Release is on a Thursday and I'll be working that day anyway (might need to book the Friday off!), so as long as it gets there before I finished I'd be happy, so I'll probably keep it! Will likely wait on the software and charging stand to go up elsewhere. Has anyone had any recent experience with GAME's online pre-orders? It seems fine from what I've looked up, but would appreciate hearing any experiences others have had
  12. Alright yeah so that's some weird messaging, will have to update the title in a bit! If that's the case feel like they should've made that clear like they did with VII Remake, if I recall that was "Coming first to PlayStation 4". But then again, I guess Square Enix signed off on it, so Also that really does look great, haven't played any of those games it's mentioned that Suzuki worked on, but anecdotally I've only seen and heard good things from them, and it looks brilliant here, so I have high hopes!
  13. Yes, this was the big thing which stood out as missing for me! Felt letdown we didn't see it in all honesty, I'm looking forward to seeing the changes they have in store for us. I'm hoping we still end up with that hardware teardown Cerny mentioned way back in March (have my doubts seeing as it's been so long, but we'll see!), so it'd be nice if this was part of that if they do still have plans for it!
  14. I'm not really going to get into it too much, because I spilled a lot out on the last page, but like I said before, I'm just happy more people get to play what will be good games. Like I said, I think the messaging is very important - that my gut instinct was different here than it was when we first heard about Xbox saying a similar thing for Halo Infinite and then their other games is a big sign of the messaging being better. But yeah, not much else I can say. I know you weren't too hot on this going in anyways @Dcubed, but I'm happy with it and that's all I can really attest to. We don't need to see eye-to-eye, because I can understand a bit of where you're coming from, and objectively I agree. It's just that messaging for me, it's okay if you disagree. I think you're coming down a bit harsher on PlayStation than anyone here ever was on Xbox, but that could just be me misreading things. I think it was more under the "is this messaging working?" line of thinking more than anything else, but I could be wrong about that - that's where I feel I had been coming at it from, at least, but maybe I wasn't that clear myself. I'll leave it there. As @drahkon kind of hinted at, I don't think any of us want to get involved in a heated debate over this.
  15. Neither, I cannot wait, looks so good. But I literally don't know where to start. November 19th will have Demon's Souls and Miles, sure...but there's still Cyberpunk 2077 on the same day too EDIT: I forgot Age of Calamity on the 20th. Oh. My. Goodness.
  16. Oh and just a friendly reminder here: not only do we have Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon's Souls at launch on 19th November here in Europe... ...that's still the release date for Cyberpunk 2077, as things stand (I don't see a delay coming). And for Zelda fans we have Age of Calamity on the 20th. I genuinely don't even know where I'm going to start.
  17. Like I said above, I think the messaging on this is so important, and can't be understated. PlayStation shut up and kept quiet about this for exactly the same reason that Xbox should have, they kind of put themselves in this corner way back when they said that Halo Infinite was going to be coming to both Xbox One and Project Scarlett day and date (and PC too, of course). I don't think it was intentional with Xbox, and I think they genuinely thought they were doing a good thing by their fans by giving the One crowd something to still be excited for. And just like with the PS5 games coming to PS4, I've got to commend them: it's a good move. But this is why the message of your marketing is so important, especially these days. One slight thing out of context - you give your fans or customers one slight flaw - and you'll get ripped to shreds for it.
  18. Damn, that's crazy. But again, would be leaving money on the table otherwise, there are 112.1 million PS4s out there. That being said, I can't imagine it running terribly well on a base PS4, but at least the option will be there for those who can't afford a PS5. Yep, with you there. The more people that get to play these games without having to buy a next gen console, the better. Gaming is about having fun, and if more people have fun, I don't know, I see that as a plus. Even if it is just serving our corporate overlords. Haha yeah this for sure. They dropped the mic with the price. They walked away in slow motion with the building exploding behind them with this. The PS4 has an insanely massive install base, and I'm honestly surprised at how good (perhaps too good, seeing as we had no idea this was happening until now - I don't think any insider mentioned this!) a job they've done at not overhyping it and keeping it quiet. I feel like the messaging is clearer than with Xbox, and in a way which trumps their message (not waging a console war here, just hear me out). Xbox from the start have been saying next gen titles will also be coming to the current gen, which has massively inhibited expectations. I don't think we've even seen gameplay on the Series X at this point? PlayStation have been talking about next gen, next gen, next gen; there's a clear divide here and you'll see it next gen. They took a hard stance, and the messaging is out there: the definitive way to experience these games, designed for the PS5, is on the PS5. No two ways about it. You want a dialled down version on your PS4? Here you go. Instantly I feel the messaging is different. I think PlayStation have nailed it. I'm looking at PS and going "damn, that's a good move, a real good thing for them as a business and for us fans" by also bringing these titles to PS4. I'm not concerned for a second that these titles are anything but designed for PS5 thanks to how they've been promoted - even if that isn't necessarily the case! Like @Goron_3 I'm expecting some of these games to be running on great engines we've already seen this gen - Miles Morales on the same Spidey engine, Demon's Souls on the same or a similar engine to Shadow of the Colossus, etc. These could honestly just as well be PS4 games. Meanwhile, with Xbox, it's been "this is surely limiting their creative potential, they're aiming at the One and not the Series X with the games they're designing". We saw Halo Infinite and I think many just shrugged in agreement that, yeah, this is the result of aiming for the low bar of developing for the One. This messaging is a big win for PlayStation, I feel it still could've been in the show Don't get me wrong, I don't think these PS5 games will run brilliantly on PS4, and man some of those load times will be long and the framerate will be poor and there might be some level of input lag. But I look at these games and, loading in something like Ratchet and Clank aside, with Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, and how I imagine Horizon Forbidden West has turned out...they all just look like better running games we've seen be played on the PS4 and PS4 Pro. Miles Morales won't have raytracing on PS4, sure, but I don't think it's too crazy for it to run as well as Spider-Man did in 2018 (which was very well). These are still going to be good looking experiences on PS4. Strange move, but I can see why they've done it, and their messaging - apart from saving it for after the show, but even then that's just a avoiding the mess Xbox made for themselves with a similar announcement - has been on point.
  19. Oh wow, that's much cheaper than expected! Was expecting the Pulse headset to be more too, might pick that up along with a spare DualSense, Media Remote (mainly for films ), and Charging Station. I would give a 'Thanks' but I'm all out of reactions for the day, but still, thanks! Got to go tot up how much I'm putting down tomorrow now
  20. With you wholeheartedly on this. Both this and leaving it to Geoff to announce pre-orders going live tomorrow, as well as Demon's Souls too. It's such a weird move. They didn't need to do it here, sure, because word will spread like wildfire...but again, you just had millions watching the livestream.
  21. So just to clarify: this being worked on by Creative Business Unit III confirms that Naomi Yoshida (Yoshi-P) is working on this to some degree, as he leads that unit. It's mostly made up of the old Business Division 5, who focused on MMORPG's like Final Fantasy XI and XIV, as well as smaller titles like Dragon Quest Builders. And this is absolutely a reason to be excited by itself. Yoshi-P and his team had a massive hand in turning the shipwreck that was XIV around, and from the reviews I've seen for what XIV has been up to lately (many saying this is some of the best Final Fantasy in a long time), it's hard to not be excited!
  22. What the hell?! Okay, so I'm ready to pre-order. But we just sat through a 40 minute showcase...what an odd way to announce pre-orders going live tomorrow. Just add "Pre-order From Tomorrow" and you're golden. That's it. Guess Sony spent a bit more than they expected with that pricing to not afford that just teasing of course! But seriously, such an odd choice for that and Demon's Souls!
  23. Whaaaaaat. WHY NOT SAY THAT IN THE SHOWCASE THEN?!
  24. Absolutely! I think even if there aren't any issues with production and stock, the PS5 is going to sell out, so from both a business and fan perspective I think it would be a weird decision to lock out 100+ million PS4 owners normally. Especially in the times of COVID, when loads of people who might have been able to be there for the PS5 can't due to issues with work. Fair play to PlayStation and Insomniac. I know it's just as much a business move as it is one for the fans, yet I'm glad. I have a friend who loves Miles but wouldn't have been able to get a PS5 for it, now he's got another way to play it, and so does my brother now when he gets my PS4! Options like these are always a good thing
  25. Just seen this as well, that's nuts. Did I somehow completely miss that being mentioned in the stream or did they just tweet it out? Think they just don't want to leave money on the table. PS4 is winding down, sure, but there's over 100 million units out there. Still, weird that Ghost of Tsushima didn't end up being it's last first party title!
