Had an absolutely hectic last 7 days. On Wednesday I received a call from my mum saying that my dad had stopped breathing at the hospital. Apparently his heart had stopped for about 8 minutes before they were able to resuscitate him. At that point, the doctors weren't sure if my dad would be able to breath without a ventilator and they were telling us that there was a significant chance that he was brain dead. Miraculously, my dad came to on Thursday and on Friday they moved him out of intensive care and into a proper ward. Unbelievably, he seems completely normal. He is on morphine which is affecting his mood and he has some cracked ribs but we think he'll be completely back to normal soon. It's really hard to articulate how I feel as I've gone through cycles of anxiety, relief, anger etc. The sequence of events happened so quickly. I'm obviously so relieved that he's okay, but I've come to realise that I'm not emotionally prepared for any of my family to die yet. I'm extremely lucky in that in my 23 years on Earth I haven't experienced the death of someone very close to me so I could never say for sure how I would react. While this is all going on, I've started on a new project at work and was under immense pressure to prove my worth to the client from the get-go. I've been working 10 hour days plus a 2 hour commute so I've had little opportunity to relax. I also didn't exactly perform fantastic at my performance moderation and it's made me ask myself big questions about my future. I'm fast approaching a crossroads where I'll need to start considering whether this job is right for me or not because the way things are going, the system is going to squeeze me out the bottom. I enjoy my job, but it's more competitive than I ever imagined. Oh well. Life goes on.

Been away from N-E for a bit, but it's not too late to celebrate... (still can't get over that Oxford were once sponsored my Wang computers, never fails to make me snicker) -
YES Wigan.

Xpert 11 Season 26: Space to move, Space to breath, Space to win

Well done to you bob, a very exciting game. I was definitely worried that I wasn't going to equalise despite my numerous chances. Good luck in the Middle league next season. Season's due to start on the 21st? So the other semi can be played on the 14th and the final can take place on the 19th. Simples! -
Ah, a another Oxford fan! Thought I was the only one. Well he is a massive Sheffield United supporter, he would probably want to go there eventually. But not before getting Oxford up I think. By the looks of things, the chairman has given him one more season to get promotion. I don't think we're far off, we just need that extra bit of quality in midfield and hopefully not be blighted by injuries like we've been for the last two seasons.

Xpert 11 Season 26: Space to move, Space to breath, Space to win

This could be my big chance at grabbing some silverware. Only elite leaguer left in the draw. Was there a cup draw? Need to get the semis sorted out pronto! -
Honestly didn't expect it to happen for another 5 years. There have been retirement rumours ever since he won the treble way back when. People forget, but it took him 7 seasons before he won the title. He even lost his first match, 2-0, against the mighty Oxford United. In today's climate, Ferguson would never have been given that long. I think current football club owners need to take note and realise that the more successful clubs give their managers time to build a team, even if there is no success in the short term. Place your bets on the new Man United manager? I'm going to say Mourinho, if not him Moyes.

I look forward to it, our team's look pretty evenly matched. I don't expect to win though, my current form is shocking. -
This show is too fucking good.

Work's been going well. Yesterday I completed a model in Excel that contained 150 worksheets I ended up staying in the office until half 7 to complete it, which would normally suck, but I was motivated to get it done and now I feel a great sense of achievement.

This is the first time in the history of Yellow Submarine where we haven't been promoted or relegated. Stability for the win! -

Goldberg may not have been the greatest mat wrestler in the world, but he did what he could do well and that was short, high impact matches. He was bloody strong as well, I remember him picking up Big Show in the Jackhammer on Nitro. Goldberg had the perfect gimmick for his abilities and that's one of the reasons why he was so popular. Back in 1998, Goldberg was arguably the biggest draw in wrestling, alongside Stone Cold Steve Austin. The crowd would go absolutely nuts every time he came out. The crowd reaction when he won the WHC against Hogan is just something else. And he did have some pretty good matches against DDP, Raven, Sting and Perry Saturn to name a few. (Raven is awesome and underrated) Anyway, as you may be able to tell, I was a massive WCW fan back in the day and watched Nitro every week from 1997 to 1999. I was very sad when Vince bought WCW, and in hindsight wrestling hasn't been the same since. I'm not sure who my top 5 would be, but my favourites are: Sting (greatest wrestler never to have worked for the WWF) Eddie Guerrero Ric Flair Bret Hart Rey Mysterio Chris Jericho Chris Benoit Dean Malenko The Steiner Brothers Goldberg William Regal and for WWE: The Undertaker Kurt Angle Micky Foley Stone Cold Steve Austin The Rock Nowadays my favourites are Daniel Bryan and CM Punk.

Nintendo 3DS Direct + Wii U Stuff - 17th April - 3pm BST
Zell replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
2D Zelda? Yes yes yes. I love me some 2D Zelda. I think I honestly prefer 2D Zeldas to 3D ones. A Link To The Past, Link's Awakening, Oracles, Minish Cap and Four Swords Adventures are all amazing and better than the Wii and DS Zelda titles. Now all we need is a 2D Metroid. Do it Nintendo. -

Ah there's still a chance that I could be relegated! Might actually need to try against Silverdale on Friday. -
I could not handle that last episode.

I went up last season and this season I've actually got really good DVs because I'm playing stronger teams. Aim high I say. -
I would be against it, at least in England and Wales (stronger argument for Scotland). I wouldn't want the football and cricket seasons to overlap any more than they do already. And at a grass roots level at least, I know many people who play both football and cricket on Saturdays.

Playing for DVs for the rest of the season. Everyone is looking pretty good this year except for Ling who got injured half way through the season. I hate how strikers don't develop as quickly and I'm considering dropping down to 2 strikers to guarantee that they get enough match time. -
Stumbled into this video and found it quite interesting. I'm not a PC gamer and I don't really know much about technical specs so it would be good to know what more knowledgeable people think of this. I do see myself buying a desktop PC within the next 12 months would obviously use it for some gaming, the question for me would me how much I should spend to get as much bang for my buck.

Didn't Silverdale win the league one year by using dirty tricks on Odwin in the last week of the season? Or am I making that up?
