  1. @Lens of Truth 1. Yes, and people seem to forget that developing a game on Wii is a lot cheaper compared to a PS3/X360 game. For instance Heavenly Sword on PS3 sold 1.5 million and still didn't make a profit! 2. I have to disagree with the Gamecube comment. There's more games, but it is quantity over quality. RE4, Soul Calibur 2, SSX3, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Viewtiful Joe, Star Wars Rogue Leader, Timesplitters 2, Burnout 2, Beyond Good & Evil etc. felt like state-of-the art in gaming back then. No third party Wii game has the same impact this generation. 3. Agree
  2. Hm, I think it's great for a Wii game, but I understand those with multiple systems picking up stuff like GoW 3, Bayonetta, Bad Company 2, Heavy Rain or Mass Effect 2 instead. Most people can only afford a couple of games each quarter. Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake out soon as well.
  3. #34 is a terrible debut. Pretty sad this wont sell nearly as much as the original.
  4. I think most of us have a wait and see approach after the first game.
  5. The right decision. I think it could be good for a PSN/XBLA game. The FPS genre is overcrowded on PS3/X360 and I honestly can't see High Voltage has the quality to compete with Valve's Left 4 Dead 3 next year.
  6. Interesting from that IGN article: "Speaking of Nintendo, everyone seems to be waiting for word on the company's next system. It's the go-to question in interviews. "Yes, I understand Wii sold a bazillion units in December alone, but hey -- when's Wii HD coming?" Yeah -- I'm guilty of that one, too. And it's no different when I talk to developers and publishers, nearly all of whom receive the obligatory query about new hardware -- what and when? I always resign myself to the no comment or the no idea, but at GDC I struck a bit of a niblet when a developer said Nintendo told him it would be ready to roll with Wii 2 in 2012. Anybody with a brain would probably guess as much, but it is even so always refreshing to hear so from a semi-official source. "
  7. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/metroid-other-m-hands-on They love the control system, but skeptic about it being so storydriven.
  8. My birthday
  9. Late August at the earliest.
  10. Co-op mode! Worth pointing out that co-op has yet to be announced for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions... The original SNES game will also be available on the game disc. Release: 20th May
  11. I guess you missed this: 10:36: "Hey -- one final, very promising note: Nintendo of America staff just tracked me down and told me not to worry -- that orchestrated music is being implemented into the final version of Galaxy 2. Very good news indeed!" http://wii.ign.com/articles/107/1071620p1.html Previews embargoed until tomorrow 8 AM GMT.
  12. I'm even more excited about E3 now as it will be to late to hype Galaxy 2 and Other M then. I'm expecting Zelda to be playable and at least 3 other big titles.
  13. Typical Nintendo scheduling. Mario Galaxy 2, Sin & Punishment 2 and Metroid: Other M within 34 days...
  14. May 23. That's spring!
  15. Another live blog with more info: http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/02/nintendo-summit-liveblog/
  16. Starting now. 5 PM GMT. Probably a lot of sales talk in the beginning.
  17. Probably something like this: May - Sin & Punishent 2 June - Mario Galaxy 2 August - Metroid: OM November - Zelda I guess there also exist a casual title using Vitality sensor (Wii Relax? ) to be relased in September/October. Right now I'm superexcited on more info on Other M... 6 pm GMT, 7 pm CET right?
  18. "continued market weakness"? It sold around 10 million in Q4 alone... Price of the console is the least of Wii's problems right now. I rather see MotionPlus to be integrated into the regular Wiimote at the original price.
  19. Not bad: "Goldeneye's weapon set is also being included, meaning that for all intents and purposes the game has finally made it to Microsoft's console. [...] It's coming some time in March at the rather reasonable price of 800 Microsoft Points" ign hands-on
  20. Confirmed for Wii: http://wii.ign.com/articles/106/1067869p1.html Ubisofts big November game going head to head with the next Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. Wii development being handled by a seperate studio...
  21. I expect to finally see some solid Metroid: Other M gameplay. It is scheduled for release in Japan in Summer, so they need to start hyping the game long before E3 in June. Back in 2007 Mario Party 8 was announced in February and released in early May. Same thing could happen with MP9...
  22. Looks like a remake is coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PSN called Dead Space Extraction HD for $15.
  23. Sure, Wii is behind in terms of hardware, but third parties make the gap even wider with their lacklustre efforts. Very few third party titles, if any, has the expected production values of even last generation! (RE4, Ninja Gaiden, Splinter Cell 1-3, MGS 2-3 etc.).
  24. If anything, this is a new handheld. I dont expect a Wii successor for at least 2 years. It wont make sense to release a new console while Wii is blowing the competition out of the water. I'm pretty sure we'll see Xbox 3 before Wii 2.
  25. Looking at the Japanese list it might be the best line-up Nintendo ever had for a single year. I mean, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, 2 RPGs. Even Zengeki and Span Smasher looks interesting. I think Zelda will follow the Wind Waker schedule. December in Japan, spring next year in the West.
