Quite easily. For instance, a quick look reveals that you have all that information on your steam profile. However, Facebook has the added bonus of having people post that they're going to be out between such and such times.

Probably somewhere between hardcore and "truecore". I tend to stick to RPG/Action/Adventure for the most part, and there are certain genres I don't care for. Although I don't really use my consoles much anymore, I have a PC, a PS3, and a Wii, and I've used each of them extensively and I know what they each have to offer. I know a fair bit about the industry, from the perspective of a consumer anyway, and I tend to pay attention to the major events and read reviews frequently. As far as opinion goes, I do have one, but I explain it properly, and accept that different people have different opinions. I'm more concerned with clearing up misconceptions than trying to argue my opinion as far as games go.

There are tons of ways to do it. It depends on the person as well though. Once you get a real name and a city, you can often find a telephone number, and in many cases an address from that, for example. Even if you think you're being careful, there are tons of ways of getting that sort of information and it can be as simple as using your personal email address with a profile that has the same pseudonym as your other accounts.

Mini desktop to be used as media center?

You should also consider that a PC will be able to do more than just media. Obviously you're not going to be mining bitcoins with no video card, but you could run backups and stuff like that. -

It will most likely be obsolete in 5 years, if the PSU lasts that long. -
The NPC villages sound the most interesting. Hopefully you can burn them down and steal their diamonds.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to figure that out.

Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\ and delete "team fortress 2 client content.gcf", "team fortress 2 content.gcf", and "team fortress 2 materials.gcf". If one of those files isn't there, don't worry about it. If there's another file with "team fortress 2" in its name, delete that as well. After you've done this, it should hopefully work. There's a glitch in steam where some of the installation files are written but the game isn't actually downloaded, which leads to the problem you're having.

I rarely even post anything on facebook. The majority of my posts, if not all of them have been about news stories that maybe one or two people on my friends list have the slightest interest in. I usually laugh when I see how open some people are about it. Even on the forum here I've noticed people make posts like that all the time.

I might be up for it tonight if enough people are interested.

You can say that again. I might re-buy New Vegas as I never did finish it on the PS3. I assume the PC version has been debugged at this point?

I understand that human rights violations happen the world over, my country (Canada) is particularly bad in many cases, but its much much worse in China. In Germany for instance, they only ban criticizing people who happen to be jewish. You can however still criticize the government if you want to. In China, people go to prison for that. I understand the justice systems throughout the world are designed to screw over the little guy, but the sort of injustices that go on in many of these countries are again much more severe than what happens here. For instance, in China, two factory workers were executed after they put toxic chemicals into milk, however, they didn't know what the chemical was, they were just following orders and putting in the chemicals that they were told to put in. In the first world, something like that wouldn't happen. And again, with the dress code, it tends to be much more severe in the Middle East. France bans wearing face coverings and have a logical reason for doing it, the Muslims force people to completely cover up their bodies and stone them to death if they don't.

They're not bad in North America right now, I've been getting about 2GB/hour downloading Assassin's Creed Brotherhood this afternoon. Edit: Shortly after posting it dropped to 500MB/hour.

It was in a different article. Obviously with a country as secretive as North Korea its all just speculation, but its been a fairly popular theory for a while now. It was a while ago that the speculation was happening, so I don't have any current articles, but you could probably just search for "North Korea Coup" and find something if you really wanted to.

I understand the people there are brainwashed, but I can't see it lasting forever. Especially when you consider that the military is showing signs that they may take out Kim Jong Un when he takes office. The bubble will burst one day and quite possibly in our lifetimes. When food shortages become that bad, people aren't going to care who the food is coming from.

Flying is the real enjoyable part of Just Cause 2. Nothing else really stands out that much. The controls are also unresponsive on foot. I'd still recommend it for that price though.
-
They're still letting people in, but they only open it up in the evenings (in North America that is, in Europe it would be late night/early morning) for half an hour or so.

While this is definitely a good sign, there's a massive difference between being able to joke about officials and being able to openly protest or criticize them. If you went out in the streets with signs saying "Down with Kim Jong Il" you almost certainly would be arrested and either executed or sent to a hard labour camp. Anyway, on the subject of North Korea: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/8265989/north-korea-soldiers-malnourished-report Although, its certainly terrible that people are starving, but looking past that, this might actually be a good thing in a way. Starving people are much more likely to stand up for themselves and fight back than people who have other options. Especially when the military are the ones starving and the leadership looks like it will likely become much weaker in the next little while. Obviously a country controlled by the military is not a good thing, but it seems more likely that real change will come from the military than Kim Jong Il.

Alright, I'm in. By the way, google has a rule about advertising invites on public forums which results in both the user as well as everyone who they invited being banned, so we may want to have this thread removed at some point.

I just use my driving learner's permit.

How many people have actually managed to sign up? Still no luck here.

Someone on /g/ wrote a python script to check if registration is open every minute: import time import webbrowser while True: webbrowser.open("Your invite link") time.sleep(60) Install python then copy and paste the code into a new text file (copy and paste your own invite link). Change the extension to .py and run it.

Its not the "evidence" that is crap, but the conclusions that they come to from it. People like to believe in the extraordinary because it lets them temporarily escape from their boring lives. They'll cling to even the faintest detail that they can twist into meaning there's something more to the daily happenings of corporations and government. As someone else said, the eye thing is all just marketing, of course it seems like they're doing it intentionally because they likely are. To observe something like that, and then come to the conclusion that there's some sort of conspiracy going on is ridiculous. Its sad that people get so involved in these conspiracy theories, yet when governments do something that's actually evil, like censoring the internet, or police beating innocent bystanders at protests, or passing any sort of legislation that violates people's rights, these people are off chasing windmills. I understand you're probably talking about the people who say fluoride is used for mind control purposes, but not everyone who is against it is against it for that reason: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dental_fluorosis

In that case, I'm out for now, if it goes well, I'll join in next time.

Intel Core i3-2100 - $120 Sentry Slim 2420 With PSU - $50 MSI H61M-E33 Motherboard - $70 Kingston ValueRAM 2 x 2GB - $40 Potentially you could go down to 2GB RAM, but I'm not sure how well that would work with HD content using the Sandybridge graphics. I have no idea if you want an optical drive or not, but you can get a Blu-ray drive for $80 or a standard DVD drive for $15, If you're going to be using it a lot you might want to go up to a $30 one though. Obviously you'd still need an HDD, but I have no idea what size you might want. If you're not going to be storing any of the content on it, I wouldn't bother getting a large one. I have no idea what the prices are like in Europe with the taxes and everything though, so you're going to have to look around a bit.
