  1. Splatoon game plus all 3 amiibo for £59.99 on GAME http://www.game.co.uk/en/splatoon-with-inkling-squid-amiibo-inkling-boy-amiibo-and-inkling-girl-amiibo-558830?pageSize=40&searchTerm=splatoon&catGroupId= Splatoon, a colourful and chaotic online third-person action shooter - exclusively on Wii U. Team up and take on other teams in an action-filled battle to cover the level with as much ink as possible. Covering more territory with ink unlocks powered-up super weapons that can be used to attack rivals or cover more turf. Strategy is everything. Defeat enemies to splatter them in an explosion of ink, covering more turf for your team. Hop online and battle in four-on-four matches. "Strategy is everything." Ooh GAME clearly didn't get the memo.
  2. Or they'll be bonus stages where you've to save young inklings before adult octarian strangers get a chance to talk to them. And then they'll do it in reverse where you've to save adult inklings before they're verbally abused by the kid octarians telling them life scarring things like 'You're crap. Go away'.
  3. I have wondered will they let them off the hook when they review the game though? Some sites no doubt will definitely do this. I can think of a few. For a new franchise Nintendo should be doing everything to attract people to it. To me online shooters are synonymous with voice chat. There whole response in the article to the matter was horrific. Mute, parental controls if need be. Simple. And to say "never", that was really goading. "Tough f*** what ye want, it's not happening" is how I read that.
  4. Could be wrong but I think it's a BS excuse and that the young developers probably wouldn't have been against the idea but the old boys brigade upstairs shot them down and said it will never be happening. Well whatever happened there is no more rational reasoning for its exclusion anymore, the days of technical limitations being the reason are long over. They know it and with their stance this hasn't been cited as the reason for their onine games.
  5. And plus the 15 items also locked away. Depending on how you go about buying the Splatoon amiibo that's potentially £30-£45 extra on top of the game. And that's also assuming you can find all 3 to buy. Otherwise how do you get the DLC?
  6. Yes but it's also now the DLC for Splatoon that can't be discussed there either.
  7. Day 1 DLC is wrong. It should be absorbed into the cost of developing the game. How did companies manage before? Capcom were the first company to do this as far as I'm aware and it's a practise that has become more and more prevalent. Splatoon isn't some huge budget blockbuster that Nintendo need to find extra ways to recoup the cost of. And there's other things too. Like if say you want the DLC but don't care for the amiibo, well tough $h1t you have to buy them. Besides all their games now come in some bundle, remember back to MK8 and the blue shell bundle. No functionality, it was prior to amiibo launching and was just a cheap bit of plastic but the same price as what all these bundles are now.
  8. This is all a bit silly. I posted a summary of the EDGE article in the Splatoon thread but we've to leave that topic and discuss the various points in the article about Splatoon in different threads because some people don't like the negativity?
  9. Splatoon is I believe now aimed at the age on the box after reading the EDGE article. The voice chat decision and their reasoning is annoying, as is the 45 challenge quests and 15 rare items locked on the disk. Didn't take long for amiibo to turn into a launch DLC paywall. If this was Capcom, EA or Ubisoft the pitchforks would be out.
  10. Are they not overpriced in GAME? Smyths here charge €15 which isn't even £11. Argos are the same with some being €14. You buy 3 and that's the cost of an extra amiibo.
  11. Can't believe they're £14.99. Oh it's GAME...yes I can.
  12. I'm in though it means missing the start of some of the US Masters. *shakes fist*

  14. http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=159391066&postcount=2379 Think I might e-mail thegamecollection later about seeing if I can get a refund. Haven't fully made up my mind yet. Would they give a refund? So what I said about pestering them on Miiverse will have 0% affect on their decision. People have not reacted well to that comment, it's gone down like the proverbial lead balloon. It's spreading like wildfire and it's an issue that is not going away. 45 singleplayer challenges and 15 rare pieces of gear that I'll never see either because I don't like amiibo and will remain forever locked on the disc. Reading through the interview and thinking more about what I've seen, this game is aimed at roughly the 12 year old market.

  18. Bayonetta 1 and 2 Double Pack Nintendo Wii U Game £29.99 at Argos. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Search/searchTerm/3257702.htm
  19. Aren't some of Nintendo's games just as guilty? Like Mario Party 10, there's modes in that game that are completely locked unless you have an amiibo. The same goes for the upcoming Splatoon and Kirby. And don't these games have the content locked on the disc? So it isn't like it's post launch developed content. Also, as lame as it is, there's a lot of people who can't play the Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker DLC because there's a shortage of Toad amiibo.
  20. Maybe someone will shift the comments over into that thread.
  21. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/04/talking_point_nintendos_plans_for_dlc_and_microtransactions_point_to_changed_priorities This is something I worry about. What path have Nintendo gone down and are leading us along with them? I have very little time for amiibo and do wonder if it's a Trojan horse and a stepping stone into the murkier waters of DLC and microtransactions.
  22. I've said plenty of positive things about this game, I've paid for it already. But when there's a caption like that it's begging for a retort and it's got it elsewhere on the internet. H-O-T made the same point immediately following my post but edited it out perhaps because he seen I'd already commented on it just a minute before him.
  23. I hate amiibo and how it's slowly taking over all the games like a diseased paywall. Is there any game that doesn't have it in some form or other? I don't want to buy the Splatoon amiibo to get these extra missions for costumes and the weapons. It's no doubt complete, I've paid for the game, let me have them instead of this BS carry on. Some of ye can say whatever you like but it is exactly that, BS. What happens to the people that buy the game but can't access the DLC because they can't find an amiibo to buy? Yarn Yoshi will be the first amiibo I buy not because of any killer DLC but because of his form. Brian Altano was right as well about the amiibo family tree and how some have huge functionality in nearly all games while others only work in a couple of games. So you've got all amiibo at the same price despite their different production costs and some are much more limited than others in their functionality. Makes sense, it is Nintendo after all.
  24. They said they'll cover more in this weeks episode and I think they're doing it in part, besides blaming the long weekend for the shortage of time but because there'll be very little else to talk about other than the Xenoblade Chronicles X Direct this Friday.
