While I like the characters, why should Nintendo give them free advertising when they'll never otherwise appear on a Nintendo console and at the same time show them how to put Banjo and Kazooie in a good game in the modern era? It would be worse than Snake's inclusion in Brawl. And when Brawl appears on future Nintendo consoles as a VC game, there will be licensing issues, forget about it, I want him cut from the game. His inclusion irks me to this day and was one of the biggest slaps in the face ever. And Nintendo know it. Why else do you think he isn't in the game this time round?

Doesn't Mario Maker show what they've been doing for the past 30 years? The fact they can just reskin the original game into NSMB at the flick of a switch shows very little has changed in all that time. Well the building blocks at least.

Similar to DLC Pack 1, I expect there'll be 2 franchises represented with 2 tracks and 2 vehicles. Starfox is an ideal candidate as it has speed and vehicles. It'll give the franchise some promotion before Starfox Wii U arrives as well. Just guessing but I can picture it taking place in space, hurtling through space. It'll be like Mount Wario with a start and an end goal. It'd start off with boosting down a launch tunnel with things like avoiding asteroids and racing over the top of space ships and maybe going around the belts of planets similar to Saturn.

I don't know about that. It would be so much harder to do and I'd say it would be extremely limited if even possible. The gap between 2D and 3D is colossal.

Though I don't agree with the pricing of pretty much all the content on the VC, I am reminded of the N64 days and the crazy prices some of the games were. It wasn't that uncommon to see games like Donkey Kong 64, Conkers Bad Fur Day and Banjo Tooie for £100 and that's 100 of the old Irish punt which today in Euro is €127. That was madness back then. I think I even remember once seeing Conkers Bad Fur Day for £120 but it was a rare(Rare, get it) game to find in Ireland. It might seem like a bargain in comparison to back then but N64 games have not aged well and €10 for 15 year old plus games I feel is wrong. Super Mario 64 is nearly 20 years old. I still have it somewhere and my N64 so I've no need for it.

O.K. maybe a couple of Euro. Have you watched those comparison videos I posted in the Smash Bros. thread of the 2 characters in previous Smash games? Don't bother with the Mewtwo one, it's just stills but the Lucas one, the similarities are uncanny. And isn't Lucario basically a clone of Mewtwo? I don't know because I don't care about Pokemon anything. They didn't have to start Mewtwo from scratch. If every character, stage and everything else in the game were all charged like Mewtwo the game would probably have cost thousands. I just don't agree with it but thankfully what's been announced so far I can live without. It's so hard to remember everything Sakurai ever said. I know at one point he said Mewtwo would be the only DLC. But did he say that he'd only be available to those who bought both games when he was first announced? If he did I'd consider that a bribe and an unfair one. I'll have to look it up and...uh...I can't really be bothered. I'll see... Edit: They just said he'd be available for free to those who purchased both games and left it at that. They didn't say he couldn't be bought later to be fair.

I don't think it's right to charge for Mewtwo. He's a returning character. It's not our fault he wasn't ready in time. If Christmas had come around a few months later would we have had to pay for him? It's the same with Lucas, another returning character but no details on his pricing. You've a cast of nearly 50 characters, tonnes of content, stages, music, trophies, mini games, etc, all for €50. So how is one character worth €4 and that's for just one platform? I mentioned it before but this could be the thin end of the wedge. Nintendo are no different than any other company, they want money and they see what other companies are doing and they're following suit with amiibo and DLC. But they're new to the table so they've got to soften people up first. It's no longer a €50 game, job done. MK8 as an example, that's €50 plus at least one amiibo(€15), plus DLC(€12) and I bet there's going to be more packs. Smash Bros. looks like it's going to take it up a notch with DLC and milking it. Whatever happened to Sakurai saying that Mewtwo was going to be the only DLC? They've got their foot in the door and they'll take whatever the market will tolerate. Yes the MK8 DLC price was sweet but that may well have been an icebreaker and a precursor of things to come.

I'd like to support a new ip from Nintendo as it's not often that it happens. In the previews I think the developers promised that the single player would be quite lengthy. There's quite a bit of customisation and collectables it seems. It runs at a rock solid 60fps and it looks great. The online multiplayer will add a good deal of legs to the game despite my misgivings. The price works out at about just under €37. Not that long ago the exchange rate would have been that I'd pay €30. The only place that is selling it here so far is Gamestop and they're charging €60. Smyths and Argos might sell it yet but there's no guarantees and no price. Nope I'm going to keep "pissing and moaning about it" as you put it because something has to be done about it. It's my only problem with the game. If people don't say anything or keep buying games regardless of the omission of voice chat then why would they change? It'll be my game and my right to give out. And I will. Not in a bad way, I'll just litter Miiverse with things like "Where's the voice chat?" (about 50 times a day) It's worse than MK8 and Smash, at least they have lobby chat. This has no voice chat whatsoever. I can't use Skype and it's retarded to have to do so. My desktop is downstairs, way too far from my Wii U. I've a pefectly good Wii U gamepad with a microphone and a headset jack going to waste.

Link's setup looks the part but it's like controlling a wild bronco on that bike. What do you think of the tracks? My favourite is probably SNES Rainbow Road followed by either Hyrule Castle or Wario's Gold Mine.

Ye can leave me out of it. I bought Splatoon less than an hour after my last comment. I'm a bit annoyed with myself for giving in so easily but the price was too good. God damn that's the worst I've ever seen the € trading against £. It's still a bit of a chance as there'll be no reviews for at least another month. Guess I'll be on Miiverse every day making my voice heard about no voice chat.

The 200cc update and tracks come out on a Thursday I think, well the DLC definitely does. I'd be up for including it straight away on that night. Better get some practise in with with this manky setup for tonight. I'm going to get slaughtered.
