At this stage I'll be happy with 1st party games and support as good as the Gamecube days. The difference between Wii U and PS3 is that Sony never lost 3rd party support through their troubles. I don't think Wii U will get it back, if anything it'll get worse if that's even possible. I don't know, casuals maybe.

http://mynintendonews.com/2013/11/09/yahoo-games-lists-the-5-best-and-5-worst-console-launches/ That's good publicity, just what the Wii U needs.

Bü11$h!t. I challenge most casuals to finish the last Galaxy in MG2. Not a chance and earlier levels would challenge them as well. Edit: I hear people talking about the 2D Mario games. They pose no challenge. Who have they been aimed at since DS?
-
The Galaxy games have some difficulty. I have yet to see anything remotely difficult in this game, every level is extremely short and the game spits out power ups like a bad case of diarrhoea. I didn't time how long Galaxy 2 took but I would guess it was 40 hours including the green stars. The 2D games are shorter.
-
The story did say 8 hours for the main storyline. He completed it quicker than 8 hours, he rushed it, the 8 hours time is for the average gamer. I don't remember either Galaxy being this short. They certainly weren't for me.

http://mynintendonews.com/2013/11/09/super-mario-3d-world-is-around-8-hours-long-and-is-fairly-easy/ This is what I've worried about this game. It's not definitive yet as it's only 1 opinion. But it looks way too easy and really short levels. It looks beautiful but I want some challenge from this game. Any time Nintendo talk about this game all I hear is "family", "Family", "FAMILY"!

Trust me Snake has ZERO chance of returning. Kojima gave us the middle finger last generation, now he can shove it up his @$$!
-
Edit: Some might be upset to see this so I've decided to put it in spoiler tags. It's pretty cool and it didn't bother me to see it.

I know thanks, I found it.

Isn't Reggie doing an interview with GT today? I can't remember who the host is but apparently there's no love lost between the pair and he holds no punches when asking Reggie the tough questions. Hopefully this question will be asked and no doubt Reggie will bü11$h!t his way through the answer with his usual PR spin. Geoff Keighley that's the guy. Edit: I think it's next Friday. http://nintendoeverything.com/gt-tvs-nintendo-donkey-kong-episode-scheduled-for-november-15/ Might not get to ask these questions.

Just to follow up on H-O-T's screenshot, you'll find them all here: http://nintendoeverything.com/new-super-mario-3d-world-screenshots-4/?pageid=141978 My favourite from the bunch is probably So much shine. Looks like there's a good few new enemies, well new to me unless they were in 3D Land. It looks beautiful.

How is compressing good? It reduces quality. The only advantage I can think of and I could be wrong but I'm thinking that it could be quicker to read from the disc if the laser has less disc to read but then that could be countered by the hardware having to uncompress and convert the data. Can you tell the difference between a compressed MP3 song versus uncompressed? I can. Anyway, I was going to say they know what they're doing but then again they've proven they don't always. Meh. The game has bigger issues.
-
Who said anything about that? 32GB of storage is measly so it is important if you're going digital. Compressing is great but it does come at a cost. I don't see why with so much room on the retail disc why it can't be uncompressed. Take the orchestrated music for example, compressing can reduce its quality. Will we suffer to keep it's size down digitally?

Super Mario 3D World's file size is 1.6GB. For comparison Super Mario Galaxy was 3.28GB. It's so small it could almost fit on a Gamecube disc. http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=216529

On second thought, I'd vote for Tharja and we haven't had a female Fire Emblem character yet so bring it. MMMmmm! Lickilicious!!!

Worried about running out of lives in Super Mario 3 D World? Not anymore. Here's a trip down nostalgia lane. Super Mario 3D World Cheat: Infinite Lives on World 1-2 http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=JNS_ReydxjY 1,110 lives to be precise which is the limit.
-
I always preferred Roy over Marth. Don't see why we can't have both. There'll be another Fire Emblem character, just a question of who.

Doesn't sound too good, I'll try the free trial at the weekend when I've more time to find out for myself. I didn't expect much from this. The only thing is that with it being download only maybe, just maybe they'll listen to feedback and create newer improved versions of these games, fixing all the bugs and flesh out the package before they get around to the retail version. But this is Nintendo we're talking about so I wouldn't hold much faith in that idea. So far bare bones, lick of HD paint, limited options, no voicechat and poor online is not going to get my money.

http://mynintendonews.com/2013/11/07/nintendo-attempts-to-explain-why-its-digital-games-arent-cheaper-than-retail/ Do you smell what Iwata is cooking? Horse shit, that's what it is. They are not the same, not even close. Can I lend a digital download to a friend, can I trade it in if I find I don't like it or sell it on when I'm finished with the game? No! No! No! Then there's the costs associated with retail versus digital. Digital doesn't need CD production, plastic box, paper manuals. What about shipping, transportation and the retailers cut? There's also the possibility of in store promotion material or preorder bonuses. The game is locked to the Wii U because Nintendo don't have an account system. Stop lying and insulting our intelligence. If Iwata keeps going as he is he'll end up in my bad books like Reggie and that guy I f#%king hate. Reggie's bü11$h!t personified.

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Wii replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It's Japan. Sales had been dropping week on week for the last eternity. Sales last week were roughly 2,500. So this proves the Japanese had been waiting for this price drop. Next weeks sales and up to the New Year will be the barometer of how the Wii U is received. -
Fat load of good friend codes are/were.

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Wii replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I'd take Gamecube levels of 3rd party support any day over what the Wii U has had so far and it's only going to get much, much worse.
