Houses of Parliament Mafia - Death of the Prime Minister
Marcamillian replied to Mr-Paul's topic in General Chit Chat
First order of business. From next night phase I shall be roleblocking (hopefully I'll catch one of these pesky redirectors. Secondly, DuDs revelation could be seen either way. It would be a perfect Mafia cover and I'll understand if people want to vote someone else in but his readyness to give information at the beginning of the game has convinced me he's tow so I shall elect: DuD -

What's all the ruccus! Could hear you from the other house! You've all seen t' the leader discussion (btw @Sheikah bang up cause we got some info out of it - info probably better than avoiding kills at this point) ideally we'd have someone else boosted but nobody has really made a case. I'm tempted to use most votes to get some activity going but going t' leave it t'day. Tomorrow I'm gonna start looking to inactives. Vote: No Lynch -

Borris Dead?!? Bet it was Ken Livingstone what did it! I'm never sure how effective my role can be so I'll just come out with it in the interest of helping town put the picture together. I'm a role blocker. Statistically, early game you can do more harm than good so I'm hesitant to use it early game (so I didn't last night). DuD's done a bang up job as our leader. I'll start the ball rolling for another term. Elect : DuD -

A'right lads just nippin' back from Gregs (pasty or two helps you through the mornin' session at the lords). DEAD! What the chuffin' hell! DuD... I'll vote for ya if you let us know who you are. Don't want another toff prancin' about the place. That goes for anyone else an all. I'm happy to vote for people on a claim. Bit of give an take. -
*rabble rabble rabble* *here here* I'm honoured to be elected as the MP for Erith and Thamesmead. Free stab-proof vests for everyone!

Indeed I am. Whether people are explicitly stating that its that subset of bronies or assume that brony is a term that refers to the extremes, I think that's what people are talking about. You seem to have taken exception to The Bards comments cause you see yourself as a brony whereas by his definition you wouldn't be. Do you have a view on the extremes of bronies that documentary was about Danny?
-
... or too far into the pony hole. I shall refer people to the title of the tread.... "when bronies go too far" not "all bronies are weirdos. Its not about upholding gender stereotypes. If these were women it would be just as weird. If this was about any other "male" show, the actions would still be weird. It sounds judgemental but.. these people need help. Having such an insular community provides comfort but comfort isn't conducive to change. If ponies didn't exist these people would gather around something else.

Another link - its directed by a NCY film student Sam Cooke and called Friendship is Magic (btw me and Rummy are totally having a fight... he knows why) ... bloody counting houses
-
Bard you should like this then - American Juggalo The subject matter is beside the issue. I think the show is genuinely entertaining and REALLY interesting in terms of being a demonstration of "girls" media done well. The greatest power and greatest downfall of the internet is the ability to connect with people who are like you. JUST. LIKE. YOU. Being able to be insanely selective about the group that you socialise with worries me a lot. Little communities that can sit together and justify their actions and never be challenged. A safe zone where you don't question yourself cause there are enough people siding with you. (pop anthropology moment) People always seem to gravitate towards an "us" and "them" mentality. It seems that some people are so desperate to join an "us" they immerse themselves in one thing so massively that it comes to define them. I'd rather be a venn diagram. Sometimes my interests overlap with people and that's awesome but if you only talk to people who are exactly like you when will you be exposed to new experiences and ideas?

I enjoy the show but... - its directed by a NCY film student Sam Cooke and called Friendship is Magic

** The last will and testament of Sir Edward Burnely ** Since earning my first million I have donated to numerous charitable organisations. Deciding who will be the sole benefactor of my fortune has been an impossible task, however I have come to a decision. My millions will be given to Mayor Peeps's Dachshunds Mayor Peeps The Orphans Blind Donkeys Men of little facial hair The Burnley Foundation* Signed Edward Burnley *The Burnley Foundation's primary goal is to track down uniformed figures and bring them to justice. The Burnley Foundations secondary goal is to transform Burnley Tower into a statue of our dearly departed Edward Burnley.

Change Vote: no lynch Greetings @Aqui1a! Now you have arrived enrich the varied tapestry that is Peepsville. Tell us the tale of your ancestors! How do you make your living? What would be your ideal date?
-
I stranger in a strange town. I understand your apprehension. To commemorate our towns founder I have commissioned a set of murals displayed at the base of Burnley Tower. The children at the Burnley Orphanage have titled their first work "One Mayor and his Dog".

... also in my mind posting "got nothing tonight" is as bad/worse than inactivity. If you have nothing relevant to proceedings at least provide some entertainment. Be warned. ====== My Danish friend, I have no way to back this up (and shan't be elaborating) but strongly believe sweetness is highly relevant to mr-paul. Also, might you furnish me with an introduction? I don't believe I have seen you in town before.
-
"Yvonne" if that IS your real name! You do seem to have confused proceedings with your explanation of your theories. A simplified form might be better. mr_paul claimed sweet things... this I highly suspect to be true He targetted Rummy Results of the night eneded with you getting/benifitting from sweet things RESULT - REDIRECTION SKULLDUGGERY (either swapping you/Rummy OR redirecting mr_paul) Separate point - A doctor visited you during the night - may have negated kill Rummy claims to have been jailkept - may have negated kill I believe that it was a redirection of Mr Stigley ("mr_paul"). @Aqui1a has seemed particularly unmoved by the passing of our mayor (though the rest of you only seem worried about your own gain from his death). I move that Aqui1a be banished from our town for unpatriotic behaviour Vote:Aqui1a.

Morning sirs. I slept well, as I trust the rest of the town did. Let today be a celebration of Peeps' finest achievements. I bid you to share your fondest memories of our departed mayor. I for one will never forget his gleeful morning walks with his six Dachshunds. The dogs in their little Nintendo themed outfits, Peeps being pulled every which way. May he join them in Valhalla (as we all know he was a staunch German Pagan) and dine with Odin. The funeral pyre will be lit and sent across the seas at 10pm tonight. @Jimbob . Being our town musician might I commission you to write a small ditty to immortalise our departed mayor? My vote remains the same as yesterday, Mr Stigley you have my support Elect : mr_paul
-
Mr stigley, you sound like my kind of man. I shall have a proposal drawn up regarding this apprenticeship scheme. Elect : mr_paul I would gladly prepare your moustache for its first public appearance as mayor. Might I ask you to say a few words in your official capacity at the memorial tomorrow?
-
My dear fellow twas not plea for mayor on my part. I was just enquiring as to the suitability of the candidate that had stepped forward. A nameless face... now if you've been in Peepsville for more than 5 minutes you'd know my name .... (blast it can't seem to access my PM... shall post it when I can). ========== MERGE ========== ....Edward Burnley is that name. (list messages seems to be directing me to log in page... blasted new fangled technology)
-
As the Scrooge McDuck of Peepsville, I have organised a memorial service for our mayor in the next day phase. It shall be a tasteful affair, serving nothing but the finest warm Ribena and vintage lunchables. I hope you can all attend. mr-paul - you make an interesting bid for the position of mayor. I would like to know what you plan to do about the herd of vagrants hanging about of Reginald Street. It's driving business away from my boutique moustache-dressing salon. Peeps - is there lynching as well as mayor voting?
-
Not sure if I'd call it a "success" but there are encouraging signs. #1 - Third Party. Say what you like about being ports of "current gen" games but the important thing for me is that the tone of games nintendo seem to be courting seems to be wider. The barrier of the Wii being a "kiddy" console might be broken down a little even if they arn't bleeding edge technology wise once new consoles are out. #2 - Web strategy. Hey remember 6 years ago. Remember friend codes? The Miiverse/social stuff they are doing (though we don't really have much info on it) seems like an entirely different company. Also... browser based Nintendo software (even if fits a twitter feed type thing) - alright they are playing catch up to where they should have been but - I trust nintendo to do something unique now they've got there and they seem to have embraced it pretty fully. On a side note - I was really impressed with experimental nature of some of the WiiWare titles. They seem to be pushing hard on 3DS for quality downloadables too so I'm expecting it to continue with WiiU downloads too. #3 - Gameplay opportunity The Wii had a lot of shovelware (it was cheap to produce for and large user base with less experience picking out the dud games) BUT the controller made for some interesting experimentation (still love Pro Evo Wii despite its flaws). The integration of social stuff / RFID / Asymmetric multiplayer / 2 Screens / touch screen controller offer a lot of things for developers to play with and try new interesting different things. Just a quick note on NintendoLand. As with the MiiVerse "tile" thing showing games you don't have... this looks to be a strategy to build brand loyalty/familiarity in the casual's they courted last time round... attempting to up their attach rate. If they've got their head screwed on it's a perfect opportunity to do free first party tie in games. New Metroid game coming out? WOW LOOK A NEW ATTRACTION JUST OPENED IN NINENDOLAND!

Peepsville won't be run by an insane racoon will it? Assuming not I'm in.
-
Yeah sorry mr-paul. We debated back and forth about your role at the beginning. It was really close as none of the roles were overtly "mafia" and the write-ups tried to be vague about what powers were used so the role wouldn't have been as bad as it would have been in a typical mafia. The end of the day I think we got cold feet about it in a smaller game. I feel for Dohnut as well. So unlucky that none of his brilliantly nefarious schemes made it to fruition. T'was fun getting to sit here and see the near misses with targets. There were some hiccups with dual-running between me and Rummy. Solved some of them but need to get some stuff ironed out still. Most votes didn't seem to have much of an impact on voting patterns which I'm taking as some sort of success. Least it doesn't break things so any games I play in the future will probably use it. Overall, thank-you for putting up with confusion at points and taking part.

MAJORITY WAS REACHED, MR-PAULS BODY WAS FOUND SHOVED IN A WARDROBE NIGHT 7 His takings slung over his shoulder, the lone survivor shuffled through the deserted streets to the edge of town. The watchman returned the travellers horse as the pair exchanged grins. "Ran it close this time" murmured the hooded figure. "Head west. Should be a better haul there". GAME OVER MAFIA WIN
-
NIGHT 6 A smile crept over the watchman's face as The Peeps took his last action. DAY 7 (day 7 will end at 2:30 pm Sunday unless majority is reached before then)
