Dark Trial done, that brings it to 9. But more importantly, which one of you jokers hacked my game to make Persian look like bloody Garfield!?

8 trials sorted now, the ghost one was the second somewhat interesting trial. Not a good ratio, but oh well. I've got a fourth Pokemon, Golisopod. Charjabug still hasn't evolved yet, it's not a thunderstone I need, so here's hoping I'll stumble across it. I have got an Inciniroar now. And I am now completely vindicated in choosing Litten! Inciniroar is easily the most expressive Pokemon I've ever seen. It's smirks are great, it giving me a congratulatory fist pump when I feed it, everything it freaking does is pure gold. Screw Decidueye! It's boring! Over-acting hammy wrestler cat is where it's at! First actual cat Pokemon that isn't totally lame! Good job!

I might take you up on that when I finish, I always like battling @Ugh first aid's playthrough team when we finish the game. The problem is it'll probably be next week when I do that, and by then, your team won't be the same as it was when you finished it, so it's not exactly a fair comparison of who's playthrough team was better... Actually, who else would be up for that? Next weekend, when we all finish the game, don't change anything on your team once you see the credits? And then maybe we could have some kind of mini-tournament. To see whose team sucks the least? EDIT: OH WAIT! Can you create a QR code with your team and then use that? That way, you can carry on training them, but still use the same team that you saw the credits with and it'd be fair and everything! Should I make a thread on this? I quite like this idea.

6 trials done, only difference in my team is that my Salandit has evolved. The rock trial was the first time I struggled, not because it was particularly difficult, but because all three of my Pokemon are weak to Rock. Oopsies. Pulled it off after a few tries though. On to the third island! I'm starting to get the impression these trials are just basically discount gyms. Outside of the setting, they're not really shaking it up at all. Take Gym. Cut it in size. Replace Leader with Totem/Kahuna. Done. Not impressed. Now don't get me wrong, it's still Pokemon. So I am enjoying it, but I was expecting more. It's easily more engaging than X/Y for sure. So good job on that part. I just hope I don't end up with only 4 Pokemon in my team like I did with X/Y...

Just done the fourth trial. Still not amazingly impressed, but I certainly appreciate Alolan Marowak a lot more now.

First trial done. Here's my team. Grubbin and Torracat, in case you're wondering. The other two starters are in the PC, where they will stay. Thankfully, I don't have to look at Litten's stupid lame face anymore, now it looks slightly decent. So far, it's pretty standard run-of-the-mill Pokemon. Not seeing why it's getting so much praise. Still, early days. Here's my incredibly flattering Trainer Passport photo. Really brings out my eyes. Right, random things I like and dislike so far. - I cannot figure out for the life of me how to find people from my friend list on this game. Online communications are a definite step-down as far as ease of access goes. - Please tell me they didn't flat out get rid of Triple and Rotation Battles! Please tell me I'm overlooking something. PLEASE! - Does the main trainer have a botox face? He constantly smiles at everything and it's really funny! - I found 5 Pichus before I even met Team Skull, they're supposed to be rare, right? I killed every single one of them. - I love everything about Team Skull and I've only met two grunts! More of them please! - I've used Z-moves a total of 3 times and I'm already sick to death of them being unskippable. I get the feeling it's gonna be like Final Fantasy 8's summons, so annoying that I just don't bother. - I absolutely loathe being told what moves are effective. I mean, why even bother learning a new Pokemon's type? Naturally, I blame Pokemon Go. - I already miss being able to leave a menu completely by just pressing X. Instead, we're back to leaving stuff one page at a time like a chump. - ARGH! THOSE FANFARES ARE STILL GOD-AWFUL! Only the "Item get" one is any good, the rest are just abrasive ear burn! Who greenlighted them? They a need a stern talking to! - Can I seriously not buy blue clothes because I'm playing Sun!? What an utterly idiotic decision, it's not like I can trade clothes or anything... So instead I have to get a ridiculous amount of berries because I want blue clothes? Ugh... So far I've spotted one Gen Wun reference and one from gen 3 in the form of the Wailmer Pail. If this keeps up, King_V might get that Shiny Golduck after all. Still very early days though. Also, Alolan Diglett might just be the laziest Alolan Pokemon I've seen so far. I mean, REALLY!? Hopefully Dugtrio's more interesting (Don't actually tell me if it is, I've not seen it)

So seeing all those screenshots you lot are posting, does this game not have Miiverse support? Surely it supports screenshots? Right? I'm almost too scared to check the Miiverse community...

I know you're only having a laugh, but come on. That problem was resolved in Gold/Silver when they started showing the Pokemon when you highlighted it!

I used to think the same, but then I nicknamed my team in Gen 5 and well... Now I use a Hydreigon named Hat. Although to be fair, Mystery Dungeon got me naming Pokemon. A Marowak called Jasper, and it kinda snowballed from there. I dunno about the other peeps here, but to me, giving a nickname injects a bit of personality to a Pokemon. I mean, yeah, it doesn't actually do that, but it adds to the experience. Even if I spend hours agonising over the Enter name screen. I have no idea what I'm going to name my Salandit...

That's what Nintendo do when they like you. When Nintendo get mad, they send the Ninty Ninjas. An eternity in Bowser's Castle is preferable then 5 minutes with the Ninjas.

Nope, still gonna gripe. And I'm the kind of player that talks to every NPC, so I WILL find those Gen 1 references. Of course, willing to look past them if other gens get around the same amount of shout-outs, but something tells me that ain't gonna happen. In fact, I have such little faith, that I'm willing to give away a Shiny Pokemon if I prove myself wrong. So during my playthrough, if I find out that the total references to Gens 2-5 match or exceed the Gen 1 references, I'll give you a Shiny Pokemon. Might as well be a Gen 1 Pokemon, so a Shiny Golduck, how about that?

Well, I'll be downloading it tomorrow. It's strange, I've never felt so indifferent to a brand new title in my favourite franchise. 6th gen as a whole really burned me. Thankfully, Super Mystery Dungeon was super brilliant and single-handedly redeemed it for me. Speaking of, I better start soft resetting for a good Genesect on ORAS before I forget.
