  1. The entry for Boris Johnson in the book Is It Just Me or is Everything Shit?
  2. Boris becoming mayor of London reminds me of something similar which happened up here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/1965569.stm
  3. But still has a Labour mayor, so a tory controlled council is only going to have so much sway.
  4. This made me laugh http://newsbiscuit.com/article/sky-sports-admits-forthcoming-match-is-missable
  5. Indeed, he gets the "lol legend" vote. Great if he's opening a sports centre or dressing up as Widow Twankey at christmas, but I wouldn't really want him leading my city in the aftermath of a terroist attack or natural disaster.
  6. I'm not sure if anyone else here is pushing 30 and old enough to remember what the NHS (or what was left of it) was like under the Tories, but if you think it's bad now I suggest getting in a DeLorean and setting the dial to the late 80s/early 90s.
  7. In spite of my vote North Tyneside went to the Tories. May be for the best long-term, the Conservatives have been impotent for so long I think people have started to forget what a bunch of slimey bastards they are.
  8. Missing the last home game of the season thanks to Sky fucking around with the fixtures, going to be in Rome on the Monday. Hopefully I'll be able to find a pub with it on though. Shame like, we've got a good record against Chelsea at home, they've not beaten us on any of their last 5 league visits to Tyneside.
  9. Do a barrel roll! All your base are belong to us.
  10. And they're a bunch of deranged frothing idiots who inhabit a word with only a vague relation to reality. I'd vote for good old Red Ken if I lived down there, but I don't so I won't.
  11. Uh, this guy stole $15 million dollars from the US government and by proxy the people in the United States including people who have barely two beans to rub together, in spite of being incredibly wealthy. What do you think his punishment should be?
  12. As soon as they lock the doors he'll just say "Teddy bear" and he'll be straight back out again.
  13. Heh, they've got Bilic giving his tuppence worth on the Modric story as well http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_3472458,00.html
  14. Surely the more money you earn the more tempted you are to avoid paying tax because of the huge amount at stake? He's supposedly swindled the government out of $15m, that's a lot in anyone's book. That's why its millionares who set up offshore bank accounts and live as tax exiles while people on average income don't bother.
  15. I think some people get slightly confused when pundits use phrases like "The 95th minute" The 95th minute is between 94.00 and 94.59. The papers have started the Silly Season already, the Sun says we want Thierry Henry for £15m and supposedly Luca Modric has already visited St James' Park and the training ground before a £20m move to the North East.
  16. It's my mum's birthday, more importantly.
  17. I wouldn't worry. If they ever manage to keep their gob shut and stop showing their true colours then they might become dangerous. Luckily, however... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7326987.stm
  18. And if you still don't see it
  19. I'm going to celebrate it in traditional English style, by driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on my Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. But the most important English tradition I'm going to observe is our innate mistrust of anything foreign. (Adapted from a quote by someone whose name I forget)
  20. New logo for the UK's Office of Government Commerce http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/04/22/ogc_logo/ If you don't understand what the problem is, you may need to tilt your head.
  21. The first generation of 3d console games have aged really badly compared to their 2d predecessors.
  22. Like sugar basically, pretty much like crunching sugar cubes.
  23. I've actually found some real starbits. Wonder if I eat enough I'll explode and turn into a planet.
