If you're a Star Wars fan then definitely get it. You'll get shivers down your spine! My only warning is that not buying on release you'll be a little behind other players in what weapons/skills you'll have unlocked (very few at the beginning). But the more you play the quicker you'll catch up. And I am (or was when I first bought this) also terrible at shooters. But persevere and you'll improve. I do still yell obscenities at the TV when I'm on a particularly bad run and getting killed in quick succession.

I got my PS4 the June after release and the controller that came with it is still in perfect condition, bar the battery. I bought a second controller quite a while after and the rubber on the stick split a little. Just put one of those dotted protectors over it and it's fine - although I don't like using it as I prefer the sticks without the protectors.
-
I love the PS4 controller. It's right up there with the Cube one for me.

Finally got that ruddy Blast trophy. I got the last kill a second before the time ran out, and actually drew with a player on the opposing team but think I had more points so the trophy clicked! Rank 46 now! Getting Fallout 4 tomorrow so will probably play this less for a while. Hope the first batch of DLC comes soon though!

Much prefer Battlefront myself, 'cos y'know, Star Wars! And I can play many different modes and aren't stuck to 2 maps every 2 hours or whatever it is. And BF just launched.

There are 2 new maps, set on Jakku, a year after the battle on Endor in Return of the Jedi, as the New Republic battles the remaining Imperial Fleet. "Graveyard of Giants" can be played in the new mode Turning Point, and the old ones Walker Assault, Supremacy and Fighter Squadron. "Gaozan" (sp?) is smaller for the other modes, like Blast and Drop Zone, etc. As of now the new mode Turning Point can only be played on the Jakku map, but will probably be playable in others later. I like both the new maps and new mode. I like it's big and open, but there are still places to hide. And the crashing Star Destroyer is beautiful!

I don't need to see more of No Man's Sky either, but that's because I don't want any more spoiled.

Jakku just went live for PS4 users. Download is 1.5gb.

If you're not that into Star Wars you'll not enjoy it anywhere near as much as those who do.
-
2. One for the big modes such as Walker Assault (and a new mode, Turning Point) another for all the smaller modes, such as Blast and Drop Zone.
-
Rumours are proper patch notes will release later today. And the new maps are live yet but should be in about an hour!

Welcome to the dark side.

I really wanted to play this tonight but got a job with Clare Balding so got pissed instead. Still, very glad to hear about the free updates and of course the Jakku content. Really glad we get to play through the events that show that Star Destroyer being downed. Y'know, the one from the new film trailer. It's great marketing and great way for us to feel even more involved in the new trilogy. My excitement level could not be higher.

Rank 32 and I'm *just* about getting good. But I always seem to do better around midnight for some reason!

How about pod-racing and the speeder bikes? And yeah starting from Endor and going to the core of the Death star would be pretty amazing. I gotta say the only downside for me is there needs to be more music!
-
Nooooo! I just got the most kills in blast, which I never thought I'd manage, and the trophy didn't work! I'm gonna have to do that again when it's been patched aren't I? Still, loving the game. I'd love an Endor Race mode, maybe on other planets too and a Death Star Run mode - either like the RotJ a A New Hope attacks on the death star - would work well methinks!
-
I am loving the Fighter Squadron mode. Now I don't need to spend on money on Star Fox.
-
Everyone got amazing overnight. I wasn't doing too badly last night, not great, but not the worst! Hopefully it's just due to it being the weekend and all the good players are off of work/school.

The series (yes, even Resurrection) is also layered and very deep, thematically. Touching on themes such as rape, feminism and motherhood. The directors cut of Alien3 is great, featuring a young, yet still creepy Charles Dance, (Tywin Lannister). It also took Ripley, a feminist icon and stuck in an all-male prison. And "graphics"? Like.. what?

But we're the only ones who own a WiiU. Their target market for this game must be pretty slim.

My internet is a bit slow so I'm not always sure if it's me or them. Generally I try connecting to the shop, if that doesn't work I reset and try connecting to the shop again. Most of the time that'll work - unless PSN is indeed down.

Try connecting to the shop?

Just give me Alien5. Alien is all about Sigourney Weaver for me.

Mine just got dispatched Don't care what reviews say it's Star Wars and even if there was only one mode and 2 maps (Tatooine & Hoth) I would still play the shit out of it for the music and sound effects. Anything else is just icing and it may help the last months wait for Episode 7 go all the quicker.

2015 has been a great year for games. My highlights were Bloodborne, (even though I didn't get very far - I plan on starting again soon!) The Witcher, loads of indie titles and loads of other games but I can't remember if they came out this year or last. But they were certainly played this year. I'm oft scared the PS4's gonna explode the amount of time I spend on it.
