antster1983 Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz IGN UK review
flameboy Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 its so stupid having all these different IGN sections. I can understand it in a way, but I bet all the yanks look at it thinking ours are shit and thats why we give higher scores to games like red steel.
antster1983 Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Just different journalists with different views I suppose. Always nice to get UK-specific content on a primarily US site.
flameboy Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 I think they should maybe seperate them, but have links to each other? not links to reviews in that way though.. EDIT: First Elebits Review? http://www.gamebrink.com/nintendo-wii/1897-Elebits-reviews-2.html
solitanze Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Some more slightly encouraging poll results courtesy of gamespot.com: "Have you been able to get your hands on a PlayStation 3 yet?" Nope. Haven't even tried. (57%) 6,042 No! And I've tried everything! (5%) 596 Yes. But I had to do things--awful things--to get my hands on one. (2%) 274 Aww yeah! It was easy! (I know a guy knows a guy who knows a guy...) (4%) 521 Huh?! Sorry. I'm trying to kill General RAAM for the 37th time in a row on hardcore in Gears of War. (28%) 3,010
Mike Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Game Central on Teletext gave Zelda 9/10 today. They said that although it's not the best Zelda ever, it's certainly the best game of the year.
Zechs Merquise Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 agh ign stop it with these reviews The best thing is the Australian reviewers, they always go a point higher on the big releases, see Gears of War and Zelda lol

KKOB Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 does the Zelda review in NGamer give away any spoilers? im too scared to read it but i wanna get psyched up for the launch tonight,
Zell Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 IGN UK reviewed Zelda, gave it 9.1, haven't read the review yet :P.
solitanze Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Already own the game, looking at the case and all the unopened accessories/games as I post this message, but due to important committments i'm not able to play the Wii console until early 2007 in January i'll get extensive playtime in. I must admit, the controllers a lot smaller than I expected. Tiny, looks to be the size of a chocolate bar just about...

solitanze Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 I actually got my Wii console in interesting circumstances. I work at a department store and the 1st initial shipment of consoles was for pre orders only. I got my father to pose as an ordinary customer being a walk in customer asking for a Wii console. I spoke to my manager, she was hesitant to give it to this customer who happened to be my dad, but didn't want to lose the sale so she went ahead with it and allowed me to process the sale. I got the sole Wii console that wasn't reserved for preorder, hopefully there are no defects like with the US shipment. I could've had this console back on November 19, but I wanted to wait for the goodness that is Wii Sports with a proper game case. solitanze Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 I don't like IGN UK I don't either. The guy deliberately scores down games. LOOK AT ME, I downgrade games, i'll annoy people and attract hits. Thanks for contributing to Twilight Princesses failure Matt Wales... On the contrary, Patrick Kolan from IGN Australia actually is more lenient with review scores, scoring games higher for most titles, particularly with Wii Play.
The Bard Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 IGN UK reviewed Zelda, gave it 9.1, haven't read the review yet :P. Eh..? I'm pretty sure they gave it 9.6...or maybe that was IGN AU...this is exactly the problem with this new region system though...It's a pain in the ass.
mcj metroid Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 9.1 haha yes of course the uk has a higher standard of gaming....yeah right!
Zechs Merquise Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 9.1 haha yes of course the uk has a higher standard of gaming....yeah right! yeah total dicks, the IGN regional scores are a waste of time, IGN was better off without them. One game, one score
Delhijo Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 One question. It may sound stupid but, what happened with the Sonic game?
Delhijo Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Sonic for the Wii? Out in March. What is the reason behind that?
mcj metroid Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 sonic was never intended for launch.Neither was super mario galaxy
Nintendork Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 To marginalise it as much as possible from the piece of shit that will be buried by then know as Sonic 360.
Zechs Merquise Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 To marginalise it as much as possible from the piece of shit that will be buried by then know as Sonic 360. I think sonic died a long time ago... with the Mega Drive
