system_error Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Just zapped through a few channels on TV and there was a anniversary show running for the biggest youth magazine of Germany (Bravo - which has a douzen different magazines). There is a audience of a few thousand people, live acts of currently very famous bands, stars and so on. Nothing for my taste but the main sponsors caught my eye - Nintendo Wii on a video wall was quite cool to see. I guess that NOE or at least its german branch does spend some money on advertising. A few million people of all ages will see that show - so mission accomplished.
Nintendork Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Lets all have a hearty discussion over this. [/sarschasm]
darthbane2k Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Lets all have a hearty discussion over this. [/sarschasm] No offence, but why do you come across as such a cynical sod?
Nintendork Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Because I am. So how much does everyone think this marketing stunt cost? I'm thinking 5 figures in UK currency.
AshMat Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 No offence, but why do you come across as such a cynical sod? Because he knows that there's gonna be a "NoE dont do anything, blah blah blah"

[/sarschasm] Because he knows that there's gonna be a "NoE dont do anything, blah blah blah" Erm? but isnt the basis of this thread that NoE ARE doing something, in Germany? Some people just like to be hostile and miserable I guess..
Emasher Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 i heard that around lanch week almost every website will be covered in wii adds* *or at least any site that potential wii owners would visit
Emasher Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 so heres the question. Will n-europe have any wii adds from nintendo in the coming months? of coarse they know about it because noe has put adds on it about recruitment.

There is a audience of a few thousand people, live acts of currently very famous bands, stars and so on. And that live show delayed Jeepers Creepers Nothing for my taste but the main sponsors caught my eye - Nintendo Wii on a video wall was quite cool to see. I guess that NOE or at least its german branch does spend some money on advertising. A few million people of all ages will see that show - so mission accomplished. Good to see Ninty doing something. I remember they sponsored "The Dome" when the GC came out but such an event is even better. Hope they'll do more of that kind - good to see though that advertising has already started here. I hope there are also some funny ads in magazines like for the DS. Sometimes I looked at the ads and was amused by them. And only a little later I discovered it was a DS ad. Normally I'm used to skip such things without even noticing them.
demonmike04 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 so heres the question. Will n-europe have any wii adds from nintendo in the coming months? of coarse they know about it because noe has put adds on it about recruitment. Nobody knows. N-europe has a system doing the advertising for them, they get no choice in whats displayed I think. I always see a Wii ad from an online store on the main page though, but I havent seen it lately.
demonmike04 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 oh! hope we never have to suffer a sony add. We did once, and its not suffering you little fanboy :p
Emasher Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 nintendo fans arn't fanboys were nintendo fans Edit: if you didn't suffer through it you must be a sony fanboy
demonmike04 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 nintendo fans arn't fanboys were nintendo fans Edit: if you didn't suffer through it you must be a sony fanboy No.. its the fact I have a life (Ironic that I say this on a forum im one of the top posters on). I couldnt give a shit what happens. Suffering is being a cancer victim, something emotionally or physically terrible that occours for you. Not the fact a Sony ad appears on a Nintendo website.
