Cube Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Theres one thing you're forgetting about the sensor bar nonsense. The Wii uses the sensor bar for precision measurements (like aiming in FPS games), something that will be impossible to do well with this controller. The Wii Remote does not have to be pointed at the sensor bar for every game. To me, it seems that their claiming their technology is more advanced because it doesn't need the sensor bar, when In fact it's not advanced enough to put one into use.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 But none of the games coming out for Wii require 3D positioning. 3D positioning is very overrated.

You're missing the point, this system does have positioning technology; it uses RFID tags instead of IR, so it's not dependant on line-of-sight.
The Bard Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 It'll never work, because it's not a peripheral that is included in the console package; hence, noone will develop any games for it because it isn't assured that enough console owners will have the device.
Pyxis Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Any company that makes a controller the shape of a bowling ball = retarded nuff said.........
Zechs Merquise Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I think the Bard may well be very right, although this is bad for Nintendo, it probably won;t catch on or go very far, simply because it's a peripheral. I think the Wii has more things to worry about than this!
Mimternet Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Well, it's going to be available for all consoles, including Wii, so Wii could take advantage too. Although Wii has the biggest advantage: the controller comes with every console and is supported by every game. Introducing a new device like this would be incredibly difficult to make mainstream. I've been thinking anyway, it is completely possible for Nintendo to upgrade the controller in the future. All of the parts are external (Wiimote and sensor bar) if they wanted to release a new controller they could.
