Cube Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Source Basically, The European version of Windows Vista will not include Windows Media Player or Live Messenger, and will allow 3rd Parties access to the core of the operating system (Like Symantec and McAffee). WMP and WLM are, of course, available free online.
Sanchez Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Yeah, those are some pretty cool statuets, but a little expensive for my tastes.

Guest Jordan Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 The EU are fucking retards. People buy computers and expect them to atleast come with a free media player.
gaggle64 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Yes, spending all of 3 minutes downloading one must be a real pain in the butt. Damn them and their fair industrial competition policies. Damn them all to hell!
Shino Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 The EU are fucking retards. People buy computers and expect them to atleast come with a free media player. Because you can't get free players anywhere. At least they have a choice now. I'm sure most people complaining don't even pay for it.
Cube Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 I wonder if anyone in Europe has actually bought Windows XP "Home N" or "Pro N"? (N = No Windows Media Player. Same price as normal XP)
Sanchez Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Because you can't get free players anywhere. At least they have a choice now. I'm sure most people complaining don't even pay for it. Most people like WMP or itunes if they have an iPod, they're welcome to go get a new player if they want.
Sooj Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I was thinking about buying a new pc for christmas but now I think I'll wait until january to get one with the new OS. This news doesn't bother me at all.
RoadKill Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 This is old news, and only applies to Type 'N'. Same is true of Microsoft Windows XP.
