Migraine Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Starcraft Ghost aside (is that actually happening anymore? i forget), What else could Blizzard conjour up for Wii? Well, me and my friend were just talking about how cool Warcraft II was... then I got thinking... Hey, Virtual console!! Something I'd really like to know is, seeing as some games are being ported from non-nintendo systems, would it be possible to port something PC-based like Warcraft II? And also, is it possible for the Wii remote and Nunchuck to be used on Virtual Console games? a bit of mouse-like precision... If features such as online play, level editing and Wii Connect 24 support were also there, It'd be an instant buy, for me... If not, I'll just be happy to hopefully see some strategy games done well on a console...
Shino Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 WOW was the worst thing that could happen, they don't care about making games/money, they just sit there watching the money come. Edit: Parcial brain fart.
Ollie Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 they don't care about making money, they just sit there watching the money come. Quoted for truth!
SpinesN Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Ya... blizzard has lost all their talent. Starcraft 2 will never come. The only thing I can see blizzard doing is porting starcraft 64 over to the VC.
Kazzahdrane Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Ahahahahaha. Blizzard have lost all their talent? Get real. I don't play WoW anymore but I still think it's a fantastic game with the same high level of polish as all of Blizzard's releases. However, I'm not really expecting to see any of their stuff on the Wii - except maybe Lost Vikings on the VC.
Migraine Posted September 19, 2006 Author Posted September 19, 2006 As far as I know, Blizzard actually showed some interest in bringing starcraft and diablo to the DS... so there may be more hope than you think. They also brought a handful of games (Lost Vikings, Blackthorne etc) to the GBA. While WoW probably has them set for life (*sigh* I'm contributing to this...), They do still seem to care very much about their products... ah well, it's a nice idea at least

However, you have to understand that MMOs are not the most talent driven projects though. It takes dedication and effort to make a good one but they already had story and setting to work with. I would love for them to come out with a new game, new story, new anything.
ZeldaFreak Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I think they could create a new IP or put some of their games they have put on 64 onto the VC. I bet right now just like Reflectons Interactive they are doing some R+D on what the limits are on the system, and what they could create for it.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Not to be negative, but I think the DS is shunned when it comes to strategy games, due to its "small" screens.
mike-zim Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 i agree but there are some strategy games coming out soon aren't there?
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 i agree but there are some strategy games coming out soon aren't there? Yes, but no real time strategy games like StarCraft.
raven_blade2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Blizzard are always welcome on Wii. They better actually release the games on the console this time.
river_rage Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I would definitely like to see Star Craft Ghost on the Wii. I was really bummed when I heard it wasn't coming out on the cube, but of course I lost interest in the game because we haven't heard anything about it for years now. Wasn't the main reason for not doing it for the game cube that it didn't feature online? They can't use that excuse anymore...
DCK Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Starcraft Ghost would be perfect for the Wii. But the game has been in development for five years and it still hasn't got a release date. I think Nova can join the Duke in the pit of never released games. I don't think the Duke'll mind.
Mundi Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Starcraft ghost would be perfect for the Wii except that it´s been canned, some time ago too.... Also blizzard must have lost theyre talents especially since WoW is one of the most bought games that have been made, 6 millions have subscribed to the game....
