Happenstance Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Just watched Earth and thought it was a pretty good episode Rush's plan to get rid of Telford was awesome. Telford seems to be going back for some more with Youngs wife, sneaky bastard! Its amazing just how much Chloe hate ive read about from this episode, people seem to be confused and thinking that the kiss with Eli was real and not just him imagining it
Daft Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I enjoyed that episode. It still needs more but some of that aimlessness is gone, which is excellent. Rush is still my favourite character.
Serebii Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I'm just hoping we'll get some planet exploration bits in it soon, or some further exploration of the Destiny. I've missed that somewhat.
Daft Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Yeah, it was interesting to hear that they hadn't been in 80% of the ship. That should be exciting.
Cube Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 It was an enjoyable episode, but it seemed odd that there are no rules to what you can do in someone else's body.
Serebii Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 It was an enjoyable episode, but it seemed odd that there are no rules to what you can do in someone else's body. I'm sure the volunteers would allow it. They would know that it's a possibility
somme Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 I never thought I'd see a nightclub in a Stargate episode. Thought it was pretty funny when Chloe wept, 'These aren't even my tears'. I agree we need some more exploration soon but I reckon it's coming.
Daft Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 That was a good line. I thought they'd run with that a bit more, I mean body swapping is not normal. The division between Earth and Destiny was needed. We need a bit more otherness though. Bring on the aliens, I guess. Also, I read that the writers want to keep stories to single episodes which I don't think is a good idea. I guess we'll see.
Serebii Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Aha, now that was a great episode. Classic Stargate with a new feel!
somme Posted November 14, 2009 Author Posted November 14, 2009 Also, I read that the writers want to keep stories to single episodes which I don't think is a good idea. I guess we'll see. They said season 1 was basically one big arc, so there may be stand-alones but they will ultimately have an affect on the whole thing. Aha, now that was a great episode. Classic Stargate with a new feel! I agree. Was worried in the beginning that the whole episode was going to be "kino-cam" but it wasn't. Good cliffhanger too.
Daft Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 That episode was absolutely brilliant. Blew me away.
Happenstance Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Im going back to watching SGU on Sky One so I wont see Time until tomorrow but ive heard these next 3 episodes (including Time) are some of the best of the season.
Serebii Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Bringing this topic back from the dead Life was a bit meh...I loved the bits with Rush and the Ancient Chair, but the earth based stuff which took the majority of the episode were just blah Part of me wants someone to go insane and destroy most of the communication stones or damage the device so they can't be used so often This show has great potential and it showed that when it's good, it's great as seen with Air, Darkness, Light most of Earth and Time with Water showing promise, but the Earth-based stuff is just getting on my nerves somewhat. It's great in small doses but they're overdoing it Here's hoping they go to planets, meet crazy non bipedal Aliens and so on I'm gonna stick with it, as I said earlier, Atlantis didn't hook me totally until the end of Season 1 so this is likely to happen more On another subject, they've announced this will come in BluRay. After seeing it in 720p, I can't imagine going to DVD quality. If there's one thing everyone can agree on about Universe, it's the awesomeness of the Special Effects, the Destiny itself in particular
somme Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 The special effects are amazing. It's so pretty.
Cube Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 why was there no new ep this week? Something more "important" was likely shown on Friday in the US, delaying the episode by a week everywhere.
Happenstance Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Just the one episode left now anyway before the midseason break
The Lillster Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Just the one episode left now anyway before the midseason break And back in January?
Serebii Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I heard March What sucks is, I've read a few two line synopsis for the rest of the season and it actually sounds really good
Happenstance Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Yeah I think so. Be nice if it came back on Sky One before the US episodes aired like they used to with other SG seasons. EDIT: I hadnt actually bothered to look so that sucks if it is March
Serebii Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 From what I've seen, no set date hs been given, it's just expected in March after Caprica hits their midseason break
Cube Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I thought the whole point of a "season" was that it's shown as a "season". You don't see the god deciding that he's going to have the second half of winter separated from the first half by a few months.
Serebii Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I prefer the British way of doing it, sure you wait a bit longer but you get the whole thing in one go (Spooks, Doctor Who etc)
Mokong Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Why can't I like Stargate? Cuz your not cool enough? sorry couldn't resist
