mcj metroid Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I know certain games will never have camera problems like first persons and party games ect,But mario galaxy made me think that maybe there is a reason for the space setting.Maybe camera would be a problem. We have never seen any other third person game in action(bar hammer) Id be interested to see how rayman gets round the problem.Dont forget there is no c stick this time.Could the d pad be used to circle the camera?
triforce_keeper Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Or you just press and hold a button on the Wii controller and move the camera where you want. It acts as a c-stick then.
mcj metroid Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 that woulnt work as well as the c stick i mean nobody wants to move while they are moving the camera.Hurray!new camera control!
Demuwan Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Tilt the Nunchuk maybe. There are many solutions and is quite an easy problem to solve. However Im sure many will get it oh so wrong!
arab_freak Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Tilt the Nunchuk maybe. There are many solutions and is quite an easy problem to solve. However Im sure many will get it oh so wrong! I concur. But I don't like the idea of moving my controller to change the camera angle.
david.dakota Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I would prefer developers to come up with software solutions, rather than relying on the player to change angles
Ginger_Chris Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Well according to every review of the E3 demo ive read, the camera has never been a problem, in fact most have praised it. Whenyou dealing with small spheres, the problems of camera dissapear. I think they solved it with level design rather than having camera controls
Konfucius Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I think camera wasn't much of an issue this gen (Zelda WW) and will be less of an issue next gen if the developers aren't lazy. We have 3D around for long enough that they don't have to fu*k up the camera angle anymore. And we have about 2,5 controls stick if you translate it to a regular control so there should be no problem to have one stick that can move the camera.
DCK Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 The good part about this approach was that the camera system - controlled automatically by the game - was flawless. It never got in the way, largely because there was never any gigantic world to block the view.Mario Galaxy seems to work alright. The Wiimote should make a good camera control, too.
Hellfire Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 This is something that worries me, specially with Zelda, even if the camera works alright I want to control it.
Fierce_LiNk Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 What's wrong with maybe pushing a button and using the Wii-mote or NunChuck sensor to look around? For example, press one of those buttons next to the home button, and this activates camera mode. That way, you can use the Wii-mote for gameplay, and also as a fully functioning camera system.
