Phube Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Ever since the Wii was announced and the Wii-mote named a 'wand' by various articles it has never occured to me until now (and if someone else has mentioned this, which I assume they must have - you can shoot me down in flames!!) how good would a Potter game be on the console?? No longer stupid analogue stick wand control, REAL wand control!! (Okay, I'm 27 and probably wouldn't play a Potter game even though I love the books) but think what an edge it could give the Wii in that sector of the market. Now matter how tilty a Dual Shock (Wii) controller is it'll never feel like a wand! Just an early Saturday morning thought!!
spirited away Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I like that idea, even though i wouldn't but the game due to the other poor outings. IF the Wii had a speaker, you could of said the spells aloud as well as corresponding hand movements for each spell.
DCK Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 IF the Wii had a speaker, you could of said the spells aloud as well as corresponding hand movements for each spell. Now you concinced me that it needs a mic. Man, that would be awesome, and it would make all Potter fans get a Wii. Edited
triforce_keeper Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 you mean mic? :P wii has already got a speaker xD
Pizza Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I've wondered about this. Since a speaker and a microphone are essentially the same thing (try plugging some headphones into the microphone socket in your computer if you don't believe me), the wii might be able to use microphone functions as it is. It might damage the speaker though, or be less functional...

Gaijin von Snikbah Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 The problem is it would be made by EA, and shunned by most.
Zombie_Fan Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 A Potter game for the Wii. Thats a good idea. You can use a speaker as a mic.
Zygo Ape Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Thats amazing, imagine Quiddich on it too.. I like the idea of having the Wii-mote shoved in between my legs and flying it around the room like a mad man
Fierce_LiNk Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I actually thought about how the Wii-mote could make a Harry Potter game that extra bit special. Couple that with the ideas of the Wii microphone that we have here, and it sounds fantastic.
Phube Posted July 9, 2006 Author Posted July 9, 2006 The problem is it would be made by EA, and shunned by most. I know you're probably talking about 'informed' gamers, but have you ever looked at the charts in the UK or the US - they are dominated by EA!!!???
Charlie Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Thats amazing, imagine Quiddich on it too.. I like the idea of having the Wii-mote shoved in between my legs and flying it around the room like a mad man Girls should get the extra option of turning vibration on for Quidittich matches.
Zygo Ape Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Girls should get the extra option of turning vibration on for Quidittich matches. Yes indeed, you just CANNOT be gender specific with games like this
DCK Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 That's a pretty good idea, but again, it's EA.... EA has made a new gameplay system for Madden NFL 2007 for the first time in 20 years so they're using the Wiimote in a new way already. I think EA will use the Wii innovatively, they don't have another choice really.

IT SUX!"
