The USRP

The Universal Software Radio Peripheral, or USRP, is device which allows you to create a software radio using any computer with a USB 2 port. Various plug-on daughterboards allow the USRP to be used on different radio frequency bands. Daughterboards are available from DC to 2.9 GHz at this time. The entire design of the USRP is open source.

With the Card You can get satelite signals , RFID to GPS, FM, VHF, UHF and Emergency signals. It can also Decode HDTV signals. You can send and recive those signals. (which means you can brodcast whatever you want over the normal channels [yes that means your can send porn to your neighbor if you want])

With this card you won't be needig a Standard reciver or skybox etc.

Using the card for those things are Illegal :P

The card and standard program costs $550.

wired article

I don't want people to access to that shit, and I espcially don't want a shopping mall that tracks people around the mall by tapping into their mobile phone connection signals.

And radio blogging? B***ocks. Radio receivers are easy. Without transmitters and free airwaves (which are all government regulated or we'd be awash with jammed signals) you can't blog over radio.
